I found that this movie is more about mental health than anything else. While it is on the surface level about him being a natural born mathematician, it is more about two survivors of abuse healing together from their past trauma. This movie is truly beautiful and I must confess that I cried multiple times throughout the film. Wonderful.
Its a really good movie on many levels. The irony that Williams played such a great therapist while having so many of his own daily battles within... its a shame he lost that battle just one of the days, which sadly is all it takes. Shows how fragile it all is in the first place.

*Matt was in Harvard and had an assignment to write a 3 Act script. Matt only was able to hand in one and apologized to the professor. The professor ended up saying he loved it and encouraged Matt to finish it, which he did. This became the script of 'Good Will Hunting'. It was the encouragement of the teacher that made movie history!*

Anyhow, him and ESPICIALY Robin Williams addressing of it makes me wish that I had someone in my life to say "It's NOT YOUR fault" to things that WEREN'T my fault! one of the most beautiful movies ever been made. Every conversation in this movie has a deep purpose, Elliott Smith in the background, the lovestory as real as possible that made me feel a lot of things, this is truely a masterpiece. Watched it 10 times and I will do it again and again, each time crying

Second, you used an apostrophe when there was no reason to use one. Third, you didn't put a period at the end of your "sentence" I could go on... It really is funny how many grammatical errors you can make when you only wrote two. TWO words lol, yet here we are. This is one of my favorite movies ever. Often times I'll go to the Wiki and read the "Critical Reception." Only 4 stars, critics called it "predictable." If this film only gets 4 stars, It must be damn hard to get 5 cuz this film is a masterpiece. Often times I see 1-2 stars from critics, but an 80-90% approval ratings from viewers. Sometimes these film guys take their jobs too seriously.
The world lost a good man. Robin Williams will be missed always. Matt Damon is awesome

"it's not your fault": the best line in the cinema. It made the meltdown completely predictable, but relieving nonetheless... What's more profound is that even in such intense exchange, Williams kept the upper hand over Damon's intensity. Deep respect for that!

Just finished rewatching it after almost 6 years. (I'm quite glad though, coz at least the movie felt kinda new to me as I forgot a lot of the scenes, lol). It really is soo beautiful. It's more than just the story of a genius boy who's working as a janitor in a prestigious school instead of studying there. It has a lot of deeper stories within this film. It will really touch your heart (that is, if you have one, lol). I cried a lot while watching this, even after too. The storyline was great, the acting was incredible, especially with the delivery of their lines. Truly worthy of their awards. 👏

It's 1st Jan 2023 and I watched this movie today. I will totally suggest you to watch this movie especially if you're in your 20s. Because it tells us so much about life. I love movies which are based on life. Also the main character of this movie is shown inclined towards mathematics but the whole movie is made in such a way that in the end it gives a true meaning on how to live your life.

Robin Williams was deeply talented in so many different ways. Think of *all the great performances* since 2014 that *he wasn't here to make* that we will never get to see.

When Will told jerry it was easy form him solving mathematical problems i somehow understand my husband. He is an engineer and working some projects in the side apart from his full-time job. Many would ask him why he is charging so little for his works considering the difficulty, i even questioned him and he told me.. "It was hard for them coz they don't know the techniques and probably not good at waht they do, but these things comes easy for me and i love the challenge, charging them less make them come back for me and makes me busy" 😁

This film made Ben Affleck a star to me....when he said that his 'on earth as it is in heaven' is the few moments between stopping his truck and walking to that front door....well, I live with spina bifida and after sitting upright or standing for more than 2 hours or so, back pain becomes back pain and burning and my 'on earth as it is in heaven' is the few moments of immense relief I have immediately after lying supine. What is your 'on earth as it is in heaven'?

@@michellegordon4211 I agree. So many people werent in a position to know the full extent - or like Matt and Ben, do anything about it at the time. I mean a huge part of why he got away with it for so long was because he was the one with the power and others weren't. So many people depended on him for their paycheck and ability to keep working that that's how it worked.
I don't know about Oprah's connection or experience but IF there was anyone who could do anything to stop it and not suffer themselves, they should've. Personally, the main people I blame for letting it continue are Harvey's brother and the others on the board or whatever other execs there were. They should've kept him stocked with call girls 24/7 and male and / or female personal assistants, plural that made sure he was never around non consenting females, actresses other employees etc. alone.
There are Lots of things that makes this movie great. But The one thing that makes this Movie Great is the Writing by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

Great actors. I had similar circumstances, although not as bad. But I had to forgive the one who did it and myself. God's grace allowed me to forgive, which is so much more powerful. I have a good relationship with the one who did it and other people. The power of God's grace I don't understand, but it meets you where you are and does not leave you where you been. I heard that quote somewhere else but it is powerful.
