    I primarily use my Quest 2 for PCVR, don't have any videos on my headset, but I've still used more than 128GB of my 256GB. Can't imagine downgrading my storage and juggling apps when upgrading to the Quest 3.
    In fact I anticipate using more capacity, not only because of the increasing size for the game assets, but since the MR games aren't going to work via PCVR I'll probably be buying more on the Quest store than I was before (assuming MR games like the upcoming Lego Bricktales are actually decent).
    The MR mode update was the only reason I bought Demeo on the Quest store instead of Steam (and it's cross-buy, so I can still play it PCVR). It's more like tabletop gaming, where I can play on my dining room table and relax with a drink while playing. Even using low res B&W passthrough.

    I generally only play 1 game at at time, finish it and move on to another. On my past Quests I usually have a target shooter or 2, a few other small games, and The main game I am playing regularly. That and 2 environmental apps. I'm OK with the 128. I rarely go back to games I have finished, so I can delete. And I have very fast internet.

      Im guessing the 128gb model is actually being sold at a loss, and then given the crucial flaw of very little storage so that fewer people will want to buy it.
      That way they can say "starting at this low price" but in reality its a brick and you actually gotta dump way more money in to get the actual experience.

      This is meta quest 3, not ps5.
      I'm not trying to ignite a console war or vr war. I'm just simply implying that the meta quest 3 is not compatible with storage/memory upgrade.
      On the contrary, the ps5 is compatible with memory/storage upgrade. You can purchase a 3TB (3000 GB) ssd card greatly increasing your storage capacity.

But synce Quest 2 i always installed 3 to 5 games on my quest headset, and after i played them, i uninstalled them and installed other games i like. But I dont like to have a lot of games on my headset at once. This is make me feel I hasted to play them all as soon as possible, and this is not feel good for me. But if i have, for example, 4 games. 2 games for sport and my daily use and 2 games for single-player games, i focused on them perfectly and have a lot of fun with it. I also use those techniques on my pc and console games too. 😅

    • @Adam-mo2qw
      @Adam-mo2qw 10 месяцев назад +1

      True but as he said 128gb works for him because he tends to download a game, beat it and then uninstall and install another. Which is what I will do also.
      I used a 64gb quest 2 and never had an issue. Only game where I had to squeeze a single game on was medal of honour at 40gb. But then I deleted that game after a few hours as it was pretty average.
      If you want to pile all or most of your games onto the system memory then yes 512gb is for you. Or if you download and watch movies on it.
      To say the 128gb version isn't future proofing yourself is a little speculative though.
      No chance there will be a game over the 100gb of free space Q3 128gb offers. No way. I mean asgards wrath is going to be very large and is 25gb expected.
      Even if a medal of honour Q3 upgrade is released it will be approx 60% larger... so about 60gb. That game was a beast for memory and wasn't good really.
      A full beast of a game like RE4VR with an upgrade will be about 15gb.

    • @N3CR0LICH
      @N3CR0LICH 10 месяцев назад +2

      @@Adam-mo2qw You have very valid points. But some games you don’t necessarily beat. For instance Walking Dead Saints and Sinners. You play through the story but you can keep playing afterwards. Which I love to do. Nothin like killing some zombies after coming home from work.
      I had to reset my quest 2 at one point. And I was like well my games saves will be backed up to the metal cloud. Just on the safe side I even backed it up using side quest. Well after reinstall none of my games saves were there. And come to find out side quest will save the game but not the game saves. So I lost over a years worth of game on the main one save I played. And couple other saves at certain missions because I thought they were unique. I was pretty upset.
      Anyway lesson learned. The cloud isn’t reliable and Don’t delete the game if it can be helped.

    I think by the time you filled the 128 and became frustrated moving games around, they'd come out with the Quest 4D. 128 is a decent amount of gaming to manage and is the best value unless you are impatient and disorganized. I finish a game and then move it personally so I always have plenty of room.

    • @ShutterContinent
      @ShutterContinent 6 месяцев назад

      Pair that with games almost doubling in size due to quality improvements from Q2 to Q3. I recently swapped from my q2 256gb to a Q3 128gb and only picking 12 of my 40 games I ran out of storage. I keep a variety of games installed because the download speeds are garbage and I like to share VR with friends and family that haven't experienced it yet.

You are wasting money getting the larger one. If you have a quest 3 you can afford fast internet and does not take much at all to download vr games. Saves the money buy more stuff ! Why pay more for the same performance especially when its like £150-200 more just for 512gb, Id expect 1tb for that price. 1tb m.2 goes for around £80-120.

    With how many games you have just with the lower storage option, it's still good since like you said your PC can handle most of the storage. But, if you only have games on installed on the headset, it's kind of a problem only if you want every game possible. I only want a few games so not so bad really. The price difference seems more like a scam though since the storage capacity compared to the price is a little sus.

A few days after owning it, and only with the basics Quest 3 apps installed on it from factory, VRchat, Beat-Saber, and two other games installed on it to try them out, along with Steam Link, I am already over the 128GB capacity. @@godofeternals If you want to use your Quest 3 for purely PCVR only, then ignore my comment. The problem I have with the lower storage model (not the headset, the headset itself is fantastic) is that I have so many games on my Quest 3 (like an abnormal amount, you probably won't have this issue) but I can't have them all installed at the same time, because of the low storage. Tbh, I probably shouldn't have made my comment in the first place as my situation is so damn niche.

      @@godofeternals In short, I severely doubt you'll have my problem, so feel free to get a 128 GB model, I highly recommend it if you're price conscious.

      Thanks a lot for replying 💝💝💝 yes my main use case is pcvr as I'm also gonna dabble in mr and vr development, I feel like 128 would be enough for me but I got confused as many people are saying that it isn't enough and you can barely fit 3-4 games in there

    When you have limited storage it becomes like a demo device. Its so annoying that none of these companies allow users to upgrade the storage. They either want you to rely on their cloud services, buy expensive proprietary hardware, or buy a new device. If meta was to make a more consumer friendly decice they'll win rhe vr/ar space
