Simple. Leafs Nation is hockey and hockey is Leafs Nation. Every media that covers hockey knows this so they make every third or fourth piece about the Leafs and you get their vast number of fans and just as many haters flocking to the piece and you get instant engagement. Good for traffic and all the goodies that come with it.
Leafs are clearly better without Mathews. He's obviously a selfish player, locker room cancer, needs to be traded immediately for whatever some sucker will give up for him. Maybe a 6 and a 7.
I love how so many people that don’t even live near Toronto, have something to say about the traffic. My wife takes the QEW/Gardiner to work on University from the 427 and Burnhamthorpe. It takes her, roughly 30-40 minutes there and 25-30 minutes back. Before the construction on the Gardiner started, it was ten minutes less there and 5-10 minutes less back. Obviously, there are exceptions like the Taylor Swift concerts or things like a Jays, Leafs or Raptors game but, on average it’s not horrible. Another reason traffic has increased are lane reductions from the boat load of new buildings being constructed, new bike lanes on major streets, massive projects like the new Ontario line, etc. Also, over the past 25-30 years, residential buildings in Toronto have increased 100 fold. In the ‘80s, barely anyone lived downtown and there used to be a mass influx in the morning and mass exodus in the evening. Now, you have mass commuting in and out of the city at both ends of the day. My wife spends a maximum of an hour and ten minutes commuting per day but, because she spends alot of that time in traffic, it’s baaad. I used to live and work in Gueplh and a few of my coworkers had to drive around an hour each way however, they never complained because it didn’t involve any traffic. It’s all relative. Honestly, Utah’s team management are the ones who should be embarrassed. The traffic in Toronto is no secret. Hasn’t been for years but, the fact that they left so close to game time is on them.
Why doesn't she take transit? Also the Bike lanes and transit are the solution to traffic, bro. Alternatives to driving is the best way to actually fix traffic problems
@ Because she has a physical disability that requires her to use a wheelchair. Buses aren’t well enough equipped to accommodate her so, driving is a much better option. Bike lanes are fine but, they’re not for everyone including those in my wife’s position. Plus, there are hundreds of thousands of parents that need to drive their kids to and from school so, they drive to work instead of going back home to drop their car off and take transit. There are also thousands of elderly or disabled that either work, have appointments, live downtown etc. that won’t be using those bike lanes. The climate in this city is not conducive to year round cycling. Transit in the city, although vast, still isn’t great and much of the traffic comes from neighouring cities like Mississauga, Oakville, Vaughan, Scarborough, Whitby, Ajax, Oshawa, etc. To take transit from these cities takes hours and noone wants to spend 3-4 hours commuting each day. To say that transit and bike lanes are the solution is naive. We’ve had both for decades and traffic hasn’t improved one bit. Reducing car volume by way of alternative commuting options would obviously fix traffic. Kind of obvious but, prioritizing bike lanes over transit is not the right way to fix traffic. And, who are we really fixing the traffic for? Yeah, everyone is saying how they can’t wait until this city improves traffic but, do you really think they’re going to be the ones to stop driving. No. Sure, some may be motivated by the snarled traffic to cycle or take transit but, as soon as traffic improves, they’ll just start driving again.
i love that the amulet will never not be mentioned

So we beat utah, big freaking deal. The real season starts in the playoffs and we need our top players to play like our top players. It's been far too long not winning it all.
Save your hate for your pitiful personal life
Lets wait until the playoffs
John Tavares slowed down because of Keefes bad coaching and making the guy play out of his element imo. But with Berube, johnny seems to have found the spark and is playing great. Faceoffs and producing goals and great passes. Hes always been a 30 to 40 ish goal scorer but a point a game player.
Hes currently on pace for a 72 to 76 points which is good!
Toronto has to overpay players thanks to Ontarios tax system which is the 5 or 6th worst in the League with Montreal being the worst and California teams the in betweens!
Love the way teams doing a little fandangle here and there with the way their signing people to get around the cap, like the way they signed McCabe so this could be the answer for these teams to catch up to the No Tax States in the U.S
losing matthews sucked but lost in all of that is we are down 7 nhl forwards, half our line up for this stretch has been ahlers
Hence why Willy takes the subway lol
Just happy none of the players needed emergency care at one of the hospitals.
Want to talk about wait times.. If it happened, Doug Ford. would be in the news
clearing out the patients in hospital hallways to make room for NHL players.
What we NEED to talk about is Marty Necas.
I hope I never hear the term “Marndoggie” again 😭
lets not talk about will tavares show up in the playoffs, atleast he scored the biggest goal for the leafs in 20 years, sure he could do more but considering what he brings outside of points more is expected from marner and matthews instead
I don’t get all the amulet talk, every radio host also brings it up when talking about JT. Can anyone explain?
Steaming hot lava take. The team plays better without Matthews and Domi in the lineup.
Traffic was bad due to the Santa Claus parade. Also, take the train into the city suburbanites. You are the traffic.
This has slowly became a Leafs/Rangers channel only.
"OMeRgGERRDH! Fit 18-35 men had to WALK a few blocks to the arena? The TRAVESTY!" LOL. Why shouldnt they?
If you think this is bad you haven’t even set foot into Ottawa it’s gonna be a nightmare next year when the Sens move into the downtown area
The more Amulet talk the better.
I've been saying JT playing good without the stress of the C weighing him down.
He's still the leader. But c should be on Marner if not him
No, no we do not
Ik im late saying this but welcome to Toronto UATH hopefully walk was not to long
Yes, get that leafs nation all hyped up thinking this is their year again. It makes their tears after another 1st round exit so much better.
Just go hate somewhere else like the child you are
Stuck in traffic on a SUNDAY!
Matthews being out is one thing, but this team is ABSURDLY short right now. Matthews, Domi, Jarnkrok, Knies, Pacioretty, Kampf, Reaves, OEL are all either injured or suspended lol their bottom 6 is just literally the top 2 lines of the Marlies essentially.... and they are still pulling in W's somehow. Mitch, JT, and the 2 Big Fellas in net are just fucking hummin' out there.
Because they can actually play like a team instead of a "try to pad Matthews goals club"
@@CC-of5xl My comment had basically nothing to do with Matthews. Your comment is just stupid. Go spread it elsewhere, I don't want to catch moron from you.
Traffic is bad then you have Talyor Swift shutdown roads
Taylor was already gone. It was Santa's turn to shut down the roads.
Traffic sucks always guys. Its even worst for events like that sure, but it's brutal all year round.
@@KS-xk2so You're not wrong. I live in Toronto and if I'm going right downtown, I'm taking the subway. IMHO, you have to be a sadist to drive down there.
That said, Santa Clause parade day is legitimately one of the worst days of the year to drive downtown.
and may the Rags continue to fall apart
we NEED to talk about how to title videos differently
it was the santa parade not traffic
So many leafs videos gah
Toronto traffic sucks.
Maybe Mormons don’t understand but there was a Santa Claus Parade that day too. Traffic in Toronto sucks but let’s not make fake stories here
santa claus parade, get your news right
When will we realize that the leafs should get rid of matthews!!! They are always better without him.
There was the sonata clause parade with 3/4 million people. Sorry world class athletes had to walk. Maybe your ops team should plan ahead an book the royal York next time
Can we talk about the Sharks tho? Celebrini?
Why
@ because they’re cooking
always talking abt the leafs. not complaining, just wondering why
Resurrect Maple Leaf Gardens FFS.
Marndoggy op
All kinds of back-handed compliments but sure 2nd favorite team. But this comment gets automatically black-holed anyway
They'll be out in the 1st round like always
Toronto is useless in the playoffs. The end. They could set records regular season and they are still not a consideration.
better hope they don't see Boston at all in the playoffs
Is Boston even going to make it?
The videos ale just about leafs or oilers… there are so many more interesting things like Marty necas is 1st in points
It was nice
OMG….it was one bleeping game people. It doesn’t happen for every game. It was the same day as the Santa Claus parade. What did you expect? SMH…
The leafs have no heart, out the first round of the playoffs again. Time to rebuild and get hockey players instead of fluff.
Grow up
@@robertfry8025 My opinion and evidence on past performance, nothing changed.
Grow up no effort comment just like the leafs
