How to Build a Modern 5 Drawer Dresser

  • Watch me build this gorgeous modern 5 drawer dresser! I built this dresser to match the bed and nightstands I build a couple years ago. I never completed the set with the DIY dresser, so I decided now was a good time to build it.
This dresser was made from rough sawn poplar and has a clean line and simple modern feel. It was assembled with easy pocket hole and dowel joinery.
Grab the step by step and the tools and materials list here:

And check out the plans here:

Matching Bed plans can be found here:

And matching nightstands can be found here:

lovely chest of drawers and i agree with your philosophy, if you're happy with it and suits, doesn't matter how it's made, it's perfect for you and that's all that matters!

Great job here. A lot of diy dressers are waaaaay beyond my scope. The most intricate of Japanese joints lol. This is right up my alley. Thanks for the content.

Great job Queen of boots! The grain of the wood looks so nice. And I love the idea of the floating top, it may be just a detail but as said Charles Eames, "the details are not the details, they make the design."

Shara Woodshop Diaries I do too but not as much as I used to. Went through a rainbow poplar obsession phase for about a year. Just long enough to see all those purples, deep greens and reds turn to a muted brown, walnut hue. How long did you have to leave the piece in the sun to get it like that?
