How to Build a Dresser Console

  • Опубликовано: 6 сен 2024
  • I built a pair of these DIY modern dresser console cabinets to use for my parent's bathroom vanities in a remodel we are tackling soon. And they turned out so good!
But they don't have to be a dresser turned vanity situation. They would be perfect for some decorative storage as a dresser or a console cabinet as well!
The middle section is actually a door made to look like drawers, so it's got four nice sized drawers, plus a cabinet section.
There are a few extra details that required some work on this piece, but the details made all the difference. Watch as I turn this pile of white oak into two dressers and check out the blog post here for the tutorial and additional details:
    www.woodshopdi...
And find the printable plans here:
    gum.co/wrbjY
Find the details on building your own drawers here:

This is still my absolute favorite design and build you’ve ever made and you’ve build some stunners but there’s something about this piece I just can’t get over it! I think it’s the level of depth with the hand made trim work, etc.

Nice detail and the handles are great, you could try a dovetail bit for the handles but only route so far in I think it would give you something similar or try ripping a piece with your table saw but go completely across the door/ drawers. Oak is always a beautiful timber to work with and keeping the grain to run through looks brilliant

I love your work. The style of this piece is very IN right now. I’m very curious why you don’t biscuit join your boards to make the tops? The tops take the weight and water exposure and I would be very concerned about these glued edges coming apart in a short amount of time.

    • @WoodshopDiaries

Biscuits are mainly for alignment. Glued edges vs biscuits and glued edges would give practically the same results
