I honestly wish there were more games like this. Interactive stories over the traditional hack and slash rpg. Nothing wrong with them but I feel more engaged and connected to the story when it is told in a style like this which I can appreciate

it's actually worse. The graphics are better, but that's about it. The combat is essentially the same, but in my opinion makes it worse because they did nothing to expand upon it. There's actually more walking in this game than the first one, and the ending was atrocious. They built up in the game that something big is going to happen, but then nothing ever does.

Literally beat the game just right now and I got to say if you want to take the time and your night or throughout your day and you want to be able to connect with something and to be able to fill the story and go through it at your own pace and take your time it's a great game it looks visually appealing there's some okay horror elements it's a f****** good game
It's pretty awesome everything feels grounded and tangible. The graphics are great. Combat feels really good, in my opinion. Every impact is visually translated well, and the finishers for this game feel like you're stabbing someone. It's not a game for everyone, but if you like the first one, I'd recommend it 100 times over.

The first hellblade I’m whooping ass this second one got me feeling like she forgot how to fight, hell the sword was bigger in the first one and swings it around like nothing but this short sword got me hesitant and got her struggling to fight for her life..
8 hours is a bit of a stretch most people I’ve seen say it’s about 5:30 hours if your good at video games. It looks breath taking but everyone says it falls short every else. Its 50 dollars so I can understand that basically 10 dollars an hour but this will just be another studio Xbox closes down because no one bought it and just played it on gamepass

Everything is very engaging and makes you pay attention but isn't overly difficult where you have to redo sections over and over again and frustrate yourself.
I love the game so far I just started last night and it’s kinda funny😭 I def let someone die right in front of me when I possibly could’ve stopped it. It’s hilarious
Looks incredible and very refreshing. Yall can sue me but not everything needs to be 40 to 80 hours long. I just hope the story is impactful and the bosses engaging even with the limited gameplay. That’s how the first one felt.

It wasn’t as memorable for me like the first game because I was expecting a lot more combat but instead I got more walking around. The combat was a lot more interesting this time but the game felt easy easy and the help of the mirror really gave me and edge. The game started with fighting the son of the last boss I wanted that guy to live lol he redeemed himself and I thought he was the best supporting cast in the experience. The puzzles were a lot easier for me this time during part one I really struggled like a lot and had to go to RUclips but I didn’t struggle at all they kind of held your hand through this one the sounds of the game was also well done. I finished it today and uninstalled it because I don’t think it is worthy of a replay. There will be a part 3 from the looks of the ending but where do they go from here!

I loved the 1st game and loved this one just as much. It's a good change of pace from microtransaction central, which has taken over gaming. This is an amazing story, beautiful graphics, and it's complete. Leaves you wanting more, and i will defend these game forever!
The graphics were beautiful and the story was good. I feel like she seemed a bit more psychotic in the first one with the shadows in the trees forming faces and the voices seeming a little more ominous. One of my gaming pet peeves is when the character can't jump and Senua cannot. Overall though, I thought it was a great game. The design and story take center stage for me but I really like the puzzles and overall concept as well.
You clarified exactly what I was curious about haha. After playing the last two god of war games, I’ve been looking for a game with a similar type of feel. Those god of war games have to be like amongst the top 3 best single player stories ive ever played along with Red Dead Redemption 2. I was a little upset when I finished the last god of war game since I was having so much fun.
At least the games free on game pass game looks great and you get it free pretty much and I know there probably no in app purchases stop complaining and enjoy decent games why we still have them before everything becomes season passes and in game purchases

No one expected god of war, especially those of us that played the first one. Hell, there isnt one boss, maybe 30 enemies. Hellblade 1 was far better. 2 was gorgeous....for whatever thats worth. Lol
Hell blade 2 is actually 5- 6 hours. Ill stick with GoW. And tbh the Order 1886 was a better small game and the visuals blew me away in 2014 so this game did impress me the way it has for others
Ya hellblade 2 isn't like you Sony cinematic games, GoW, The last of us etc.. If anything is way more cinematic, and very good at what it does, but its not for everyone. Definitely a must play if you are into slow burn, heavy story, walking simulator type of games. makes me excited for project mara, a horror game that they are working on.

Did you play the game? This sequel has poor combat mechanics that are extremely delayed from the inputs and there are significantly fewer puzzles that frankly do not compare to the first game.
This would have been a fantastic movie, but as a game I would compress the wandering, fix some details in the story telling, and unfortunately scrap the puzzles altogether. I loved the massive complex puzzles in the first game. However, these are simple, don’t intrigue me with visual distortions, and are repeated. I liked 1 puzzle in the game.
I played the first game with my wife about 3 times and she played it 5 times. We had fun with the intense visuals, distortions, and variety of puzzles. I know there were puzzles I either struggled with or were actually scary. 1 puzzle in this game hit these conditions. I don’t plan on replaying this game either. I’m very disappointed and saddened that it lost its way.
I completely agree, the first game I loved that much I purchased it for some other people to have the experience. Yes and no. Think something like the games super massive makes. Instead of qte and choice's, you get big cinematic pieces and 1on1 cinematic combat. The cinematography its crazy good, you do feel like you are playing a movie due to how cinematic and gorgeous the game is. It makes Sony's cinematic games look like just games, so it comes down to personal opinion about how good HB2 is.

The gameplay, immersive experience is up there as one of the best. Yeah it’s short but it’s a great game and that what we want. Get this game if you have or haven’t got GP.
People refuse to understand that this game is story based, not combat based and it's entire role is to tell people that psychosis is a part of our lives, wether you suffer from them or not. It's here. It's not anyone's fault our brains are imperfect, and we're not "lesser" persons because we suffer from psychosis. These games are a comprehensive deep dive into what it's like to be psychotic. I wish more people would be willing to learn about Neuroscience but they prefer hating on people and calling them crazy instead.

The biggest problem of the game is the player base expecting to experience the game from their own eyes while the whole aim of the game is to make you see through Senua's eyes, hear the voices in her head and feel what she feels. They can watch Tiktok trash 24/7 but can't stand a masterpiece for 6-7 hours. This game is a movie thrice longer than average movie lenght and you own it.

Diablo 4 has been delivering massively lately. I just started playing season 4 after trying this steam pile hellblade 2. Definitely recommend diablo 4 if you've ever liked games like runescape or eso

The assets are good, but it's blurry AF. Also, five and half hours tops. The first one was better, the whole duelling voices thing is so much less interesting this time around.

Tedious walking "pinch" simulator..1/3 of the game is.. push walk while pressing the walk slightly faster button..(pinch) Combat is worse, no awful.. puzzles are less interesting and engaging..Day 1 reviews made me game pass instead of buying.. I just wanted the game to be over and now that it is, I will never have to play it again.

Good story, fun combat, plus you can use chapter select to go straight to battles. It is cinematic as hell in those battles.

Good game easy combat puzzles pretty easy also. First one in my opinion was little better. Loads of walking but still a good game.

Bruh... i cant enjoy a cinematic game. Especially if you can't skip it. Like immortals of aveum 😂 if i wanted to watch the game as a movie, im sure some RUclipsr made a movie of the cutscenes. I spent an hour of watching the scenes and 20 minutes of gameplay for immortals 😂😅

The gameplay, immersive experience is up there as one of the best. Yeah it’s short but it’s a great game and that what we want. Get this game if you have or haven’t got GP.
People refuse to understand that this game is story based, not combat based and it's entire role is to tell people that psychosis is a part of our lives, wether you suffer from them or not. It's here. It's not anyone's fault our brains are imperfect, and we're not "lesser" persons because we suffer from psychosis. These games are a comprehensive deep dive into what it's like to be psychotic. I wish more people would be willing to learn about Neuroscience but they prefer hating on people and calling them crazy instead.

The biggest problem of the game is the player base expecting to experience the game from their own eyes while the whole aim of the game is to make you see through Senua's eyes, hear the voices in her head and feel what she feels. They can watch Tiktok trash 24/7 but can't stand a masterpiece for 6-7 hours. This game is a movie thrice longer than average movie lenght and you own it.
So as expected..
Worst game of the year so far. Who knows maybe it has a chance in a movie award 😂

Diablo 4 has been delivering massively lately. I just started playing season 4 after trying this steam pile hellblade 2. Definitely recommend diablo 4 if you've ever liked games like runescape or eso

I love story games but this game is so messy and long winded for what it is. I'm a xbox player and this is clearly another example to add to the downfall of xbox. Pretty game but nothing else good about it

I've never been excited for a game to be released, and I have never been more disappointed at the results... Tedious walking "pinch" simulator..1/3 of the game is.. push walk while pressing the walk slightly faster button..(pinch)
Combat is worse, no awful.. puzzles are less interesting and engaging..Day 1 reviews made me game pass instead of buying.. I just wanted the game to be over and now that it is, I will never have to play it again.

This game was a fucking experience, 7-8 hours of well packed everything and was faithful to where we left off in the last one. The game only looked better the further you got and it was utterly beautiful
