Hi, do you have to format the LaCie drive before using it on your iPad Pro? Or can it be used straight out of the box on the iPad without formatting it?
Hi Daniel, do you know if I can use this external drive to record my music projects in my Mac M1 using the USB C port/Thunderbolt? Thanks in advance :)
The speed at which the LaCie 5TB external hard drive operates on your MacBook Pro can depend on several factors, including the specific model of the LaCie drive, the connection interface, and the capabilities of your MacBook Pro. LaCie offers external hard drives with different connection interfaces, such as USB 3.0, USB-C, Thunderbolt, or a combination of these. The data transfer speed will be influenced by the type of connection you are using. Here are some general expectations based on common interfaces: 1. **USB 3.0:** USB 3.0 offers decent data transfer speeds. You can expect speeds in the range of 100-150 MB/s, although actual speeds can vary. 2. **USB-C:** USB-C, especially if it supports the USB 3.1 or 3.2 Gen 2 standard, can provide faster transfer speeds. You might experience speeds ranging from 300 MB/s and above, depending on the LaCie model and other factors. 3. **Thunderbolt:** If your LaCie drive uses a Thunderbolt connection and your MacBook Pro supports Thunderbolt, you can potentially achieve even higher speeds. Thunderbolt 3, for example, can support data transfer speeds up to 40 Gbps. To get the most accurate and specific information about the speeds of your LaCie 5TB drive with your MacBook Pro, I recommend checking the product documentation provided by LaCie for your specific model. Additionally, you can use disk speed testing tools on your Mac to measure the actual read and write speeds of the external drive under different conditions. Remember that the performance can also be affected by other factors, such as the file size and type, the overall health of your MacBook Pro, and the capacity of the LaCie drive.
Hello, yes I did to "MAC OS JOURNALED" since I only use them on my Macs. if you want to use them between Mac and Windows make it to "EXFAT". No not at all. They are sometimes more than 15 hours on my Mac, without any problems. Daniel
Hi great video!
This might be a bit stupid question since i have only owned usb flashdrives, but does this product work in the same way (copy footage and store it) since i want to save the clips that i have captured on my ps4 troughout the years just in case my ps4 breaks some day. If it is possible, can i watch the footage from my computer when the device is connected
Hi Daniel, super Video.
Ich könnte dir hierzu raten --> ruclips.net/video/Lri3LufLofM/видео.html
You started your review by saying a very famous sentece spoken by Dave Gahan while singing Enjoy The Silence! You INDEED rock! Your video´s AWESOME! Congrats!
USB C cable from LaCie only works if you're a successful youtuber apparently. If you're nobody they send you a completely garbage cable that does not fit and of course no one talks about it. When you ask LaCie about it, they gaslight you even though you have photo evidence of it not working and not fitting. DO NOT BUY if you're a mac user. Stick to regular USB 3.0 connection and use a dongle if you must
How well does it perform on the Apple Mac Mini (M1)?

Tell me please, what kind of cover case do you have on your iPad 12.9? It looks very nice, I would buy it too.

Hi, What is the difference between the Lacie rugged STFR5000800 5tb model and the STDR5000800 5tb model?
Why do you only use an SSD instead of the Lacie?

it was there when I plugged the hard drive in.
