i thought so too its an easy language, but if no one talks to you a day in Korean it ill become memorization,a language should be spoken that is the purpose of it.
As a 4 year long student, now 18, it’s all fun and games at first because hangeul (writing system) is so easy. But then prepare yourself: *Korean and English both have too many synonyms, synonyms with slightly varying meanings, and on top of that, homophones and homonyms. It’s no wonder Koreans struggle with English, too. And English spelling is effed up, we can ALL agree.* *English is actually a pretty difficult language. So you’re going from one difficult language to another.* *Korean is a building language (agglutinative). For English speakers, this is super unnatural because speaking English is like stringing along words together. Building means you create words with other words and endings that don’t have independent meaning. Like English compound words, but much worse. Verb conjugation is a whole thing on it’s own.* *Korean has a lot of honourifics and so many damn levels of speech. A lot of technicalities, too.* *And in every language, people also now and again fuck around with the language when they speak, like English speakers. Imagine them hearing that’s “Fan-bam-fucking-tastic.” You all know what I’m saying. They don’t. See?* *But the worst of all, Korean is a context based language. So all of that has different implication in different situations with different people with different social statuses and social conditions.* *Good luck! It’s hell but you’ll love it*
좋아 = informal casual way of saying ‘is good’ 좋아해요 = informal polite way of saying ‘(I) like this’ 좋아한다 = ‘(I) like this’ in a written context 좋습니다 = formal way of saying ‘is good’ 좋아요 = informal polite way of saying ‘is good’
Korean is easy. You don't need all of the variations mentioned here. The polite '좋아해요' version is fine and works in all situations. Plus korean verbs don't change for different prounouns. Korean grammar is straight forward and simple.
I think it's a pretty logical language, so once you kind of understand the functioning, the rest comes fairly easily. Though I wouldn't say any language is "easy" to learn bc it depends on your mother tongue, on the way your brain works etc. But even for the examples given in this video, once you understand speech levels + the difference btw 좋다 and 좋아하다 you're good
Its been a year im still stuck on the same place like. I dont even know how to arrange them 'eodi ga an gyeong i? ' isnt the correct way to arrange it and also dorsnt make sense 'nae eodi an gyeongi issja? ' is lit correct like wf
It actually kind of makes sense. You say: I + (topic marker, I is the subject) + [thing you like] + (object marker, thing being looked) + to like The word order is different from English.
You have a very positive attitude. I started learning the Korean language recently, and seeing your post made me smile 😊. Your language is very difficult for me. regards peter
I know this is just a funny meme video, but don't be discouraged guys. It isn't really this complicated, it's just different endings that are attached to the word 좋 (like), and the different endings add stuff like nuance, formality, tense, and so on. Once you learn the different types of endings, you can attach them to any other verb. (And not all endings are frequently used in regular conversation, they can be very situational).
I'm planning to move to Japan for university, But I would like to visit south Korea too, around how long should it take for me to make basic conversation.
I want to learn it so bad, but it kinda hard to pronounce and to write which is ok for me cause I’m beginner. Beside I don’t anyone who can speak Korean, if you do please tell few. 😢 that would be really helpful 😅😄
Yup there is a million ways to say one word i’m still a beginner but if understand 좋아 i think u would be able to get the other ones but depends on what your trying to say it changes also politeness levels are huge in korean like 해요 means to do and adding 아요 is common like this simple sentence 아이스크림 좋아요 is something you would not say to a elder as that is disrespectful as saying 이예요 instead of 입니다 sorry if it sounds confusing cause it is
Hahahaha just kidding - there’s so many ways to say the SAME THING 🥲
