Sir, you always were my one and only inspiration. I always got new Ideas when listening to your amazing compositions.Your music makes bad days alright and good days even better. It's great to hear and see that you're still in buissness. I really hope to hear more from you soon. Keep it up!
Hey, Chris! Love your music; I just sang the Baba Yetu acapella solo for my district choir last year, which was awesome for a gamer like me, then was extremely pleased to find out that we would be singing Kia Hora Te Marino for regions! You're one of the best contemporary composers alive right now, and I hope you continue writing amazing choir music! Awesome video.
Respect avec un grand R pour votre travail, Admiration avec un grand A pour votre approche musicale de langues dont je ne connaissais que le nom. BRAVO, continuez à nous émouvoir comme vous le faites si bien.
Interesting :) but you forgot the most significant part of the process - that you have some uncanny supernatural talent for music that I'm not sure ANYONE in Earth's history has used in this way before. To write (beautiful) songs in languages that you don't speak or perhaps never even heard before (and which are so very different Swahili? Polish? Maori?) - it's remarkable. As you said in the video, misplacing a few stresses on a non-stressed beat would be enough to lose your Grammy :) inspiring! emotional! can't wait for the next composition!
I cannot appreciate more about your dedication to the linguistic aspects of composing a song, so thank you for that. :) As a member of a choir with a lingually diverse repertoire, I take an extra interest in these matters. If you ever need help in Turkish, I'd be glad to lend it.
dude i really love all your music! found you from baba yetu from civ 4 i highly suggest you also keep at least 2 of those videos on youtube that have your entire album, or you should at least upload it yourself because that is what helped me find you~!
First two verses from Yunus Emre who was a religious Turkish poet and Sufi mystic whose life spanned both the 13th and 14th centuries. Beri gel barışalım yâd isen bilişelim Atımız eğerlendi eştik elhamdülillah İndik Rum'u kışladık çok hayr ü şer işledik Uç bahar geldi geri göçtük elhamdülillah Dirildik pınar olduk ırıldık ırmak olduk Aktık denize daldık taştık elhamdülillah Taptuğun tapusunda kul olduk kapusunda Yunus miskin çiğ idik piştik elhamdülillah
I'll probably do a whole annotated video where I post my entire album, but with notes about how they're constructed. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. :)
I find IPA incredibly hard to read, so I typically just spell it out phonetically. And yeah… I'm sort of hoping I claim the semi-dubious honor of being the only person ever to write a song in PIE. :)
Nah, I'm sure you've already excelled at it. That's a fairly old dialect by the way, almost as the language of the epics. Anyway, always fun to watch you work.. ;)
I am so happy I discovered you and your work. Thank you!

I hope you soon make a Filipino (Tagalog) composition. I will be more than willing to help you out.
Greetings from the Philippines!
I dream of this one as well. Another fan from the Philippines.
If you ever need help with brazilian portuguese, I would be glad to be of assistance.
Hello Mr. Tin. If you need help with Turkish again, I would gladly help. And I am a composer, so I can also help with prosody.
When writing soundtracks how do you approach different mediums?
you must must believe in Jesus so you can go to heaven when you die
maybe you can write music in heavenly language when you get there
Abi sen ne biçim bi Türkçe öğreniyosun, 100 yıldır filan öyle şeyler söylemiyoruz biz :(
