As a handyman myself this is hilariously true. College kids would call me in the middle of the night to replace the damn apartment smoke detector batteries lmao
In a world where if you remove the battery out of your iphone, you void the warranty and risk a lawsuit, I get why kids are afraid to touch anything as renters. Lol
This is by design. Our "benevolent overlords" want us as stupid and dependent as they can make us.
In the not too distant future, you will probably have to pay a monthly contract for your smoke alarm, and every two years, they will replace it with a new one.
@@gregthebaritone we're already there. No one wants to be a handy man anymore and apartments instead have to pay a temp agency to send Crack heads with no experience 😂
You got to be joking right? Thats so damn easy.
That handyman needs to be a regular character on the show 😆
He already is, he's one of the guy who says they took his jerb.
Yeah he shows up a few times in seasin 21
@@senister14 You're right! I think he also appeared in WTF(pro wrestling episode) as one of the wine-sipping rednecks critiquing the wrestling like it was a Shakespeare production... OR somewhere in the massive crowd the kids brought in nightly

the fact that randy has been a weed farmer for like 3 years now is hilarious
He used to be a Geologist
More like less.
5 actually

I thought he went back to geology when he saved South Park from Man Bear Pig.
Randy explaining to the kids how their generation doesn’t know how to do crap while he himself doesn’t either by immediately calling someone else to fix his problem is a top level South Park joke.
not only is it a top tier south park joke its 1000% a randy thing lol

@@MandoMonge wow...operating a copy machine. such a useful life skill. will definitely save your life one day. good for you. you really showed him how you're on top.
It seems Randy's still half geologist half weed farmer in this special event. I'm okay with it though. At least my respect for Tegridy Farms will last a little longer.
Well it's their fault in order to save them in the last special he was forced to become Karen Marsh again
@@byronrush9802Eh, could've been worse though. 🤷♀️
I see no reason why he should have to move off the farm, the show has been embracing continuity for years and it's fascinating sometimes to have plot lines revolving around the cannabis farm. But it's nice when you can put the blue shirt on and be a little bit more reminiscent of the old school Randy. We miss you Randy
@@michaelcorcoran8768Amen to that, dude!
Absolutely right.
I’m a handyman and I can tell you that this is so true. I have to turn down work most of the time because my schedule is full. Most of my clients are the work from home laptop types that thrived during the covid years.
the 5 guys that can do anything from gen z sure will have a lot of handyman work to do haha
@@Rowsy91 It will be like me trying to find someone who can work with real plaster. I cannot even find it to buy it any more.
@@Rowsy91 In 10-20 years plumbers are going to be the richest people in the country
Yeah, I think it may just be the demographic. I'm an engineer, and I don't know anyone in my department who uses a handyman (they may just be quiet about it). Just people more mechanically inclined and like fixing things.
I'm not entirely convinced that things are all that different from previous generations. There's likely some difference, but I don't think its a huge gap.
As an electrician, I love Gen Z. I'm super busy with work and charge $150/ hr. I make more money than most engineers in my area.
The dad busting in at 7am in a pissed off mood on the weekend to yell at the oldest son for not helping around the house is just way too accurate.
Stop being lazy then.
@@chriscash8381OMG that’s the laziest story I’ve ever heard 😂
Topped perfectly with the "I'm sick of this shit." And the children having absolutely no idea what he is referring to
Dude its 7am and they're pissed they've been up since 3am bored doing nothing jazzed after 8 cups of coffee so they go find some shit to work on for like 10 minutes realize you're not helping then come yell at you like you should know exactly what's going like "what the yell you mean?! We're changing the goddamn insulation in the garage it was last changed 8 years ago bc nobody does shit around here b3sides me and ive been too busy!" then they take you out in the -15 degree garage and tell you what to do then immediately leave to go to home depot for 4 hours, then come back with a big ass mccoffee and wrappers for sausage biscuits right as youre finishing then scream at you for not being done then scream about having to do everything themselves as they finish the literal 5 minutes of work left all while angrily slamming stuff around unnecessarily. Then he realizes he bought the wrong kind of insulation and that's somehow also your fault lmfao
Oh and I forgot to add the coup de gras when he's super pissed later bc your mom wants to take you to the urgent care bc you're 7 years old and he didnt tell you to wear gloves when handling insulation before he left. So you're beet red feel like every inch of your skin is filled with a million micro needles and you get yelled at and grounded from your Gameboy for a month and yelled at all the way to the hospital for being a "dumb a$%" lol
It's funny how things still never go good for randy when he's trying to "Teach" his kids
Even when it's teaching them how to be lazy
Well, to "teach" them first he has to "learn", anyway you can always learn something from other people, even if it's something so simple like "what to don't do".
doesn't exactly help that he's an idiot.
It's funny that he couldn't pull up a DIY video to fix it himself - depending on AI is no different than relying on others!
@@SSGoatanks he could, but he is just lazy
I love the fact that the handyman basically told Randy what the problem was (screws were stripped) and how to fix it (buy washers from home depot) and Randy still wanted to pay him to fix it
That’s not how you would fix that and as an electrician that makes me soooo happy.
washer, nut and bolt, probably a bolt similar size to the screw that stripped out.. at least itll hold, you could in theory just use a bigger screw but woth a bolt, nut, and washer it would hold well
Yea though a washer is not gonna fix a stripped screw situation with the information we are given.
Not unless he already had a bolt, and nut that would work, but just need a washer to complete the work around.
The right way is usually a larger diameter screw, or making a new hole if possible, being able to replace a stripped screw with a nut and bolt is rather unusual.
@@riverpirate1022 not at all. For sheet metal applications like this a bolt & nut is a much more preferable fix than using a larger screw because the sheet metal may be more likely to tear at the hole. Could just make a new hole with a self-tapping screw too
Doesn’t even know what a spot price is probably

Ah, but do you have gold spinners on your work truck? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
My partner is an electrician and the amount of work he gets offered left and right is unbelievable. He can even choose his work. He told me that good electricians especially of high voltage are rare nowadays. I‘m just glad he can fix all the things at home, and I don‘t need to call a handyman. They are mostly unavailable and expensive anyways.
We need more handyman screen time. I see this guy every time Im at Home Depot
Considering how easy it is to look up how to do simple repairs like fixing an oven door, it is amazing how no one can actually do anything. Plus, it would be a good idea to keep any owner/instruction manuals for any appliances and stuff, just in case you don't have access to the Internet. It'd also be good that any time you figure out how to repair something, you should write it down to keep record of what/how you fixed it the first time.
Or use RUclips

@@ColoradoStreaming Time is money.
@@ColoradoStreamingWhile this is true. Probably how the screws got stripped to start with- RUclips repair video by previous owner of Tegridy.

EASIEST??? people out there asking for the batteries in their smoke alarms to be replaced or the door knobs to be screwed tight and this is what you think is the easiest? bro there is much more easier things that handymen are being paid tons of money for. This is honestly quite a pickle if they are someone without tools at all. There is now a world where there are people who don't even have a screwdriver let alone a set of socket wrenches or a drill. Truthfully some of these lazy bastards are just college kids with parents money who are renting their apartments who don't want to stir the boat with the rental property owner and just pay someone who is a "professional" ie just a random guy who asked for money to do basic repairs or tasks.

@-schattenpflanze-3755 A lot of jobs that don't need a college degree require one though. It is literally like having a high-school diploma now.
@@tiffancy9088 I've heard different stories on that. Some people claim they've gotten jobs that "require" a bachelor's degree without one. (Obviously not in licensed professions.)
I mean, tons of entry level jobs supposedly require 5 years experience, but obviously people still get into new careers.
@@Jorbz150 Speaking from the IT perspective, It's largely the HR firewall that blocks people out if they don't have a cover letter / resume that says "graduated from so and so college/University".
It's a little bit of employers wanting people to be qualified and a little bit of HR totally not understanding the role and maybe lacking a little creativity. Sometimes people without degrees have an ability to learn that far surpasses someone who went to school for 3 years. Often times the people who are applying for a position with no diploma/degree are totally unqualified and throwing darts until something sticks. People who get their foot into the door usually either know someone or get lucky and find a hiring manager who's more involved.
"I got so much money I don't care." That's a goal right there.

I haven’t seen the full episode, but honest truth knowing how to work with various “handymen” would be a good skill to have as a homeowner. I fix what I can in the house until it hits areas I lack competence and can quickly go wrong ( ex: why isn’t the furnace working?).
Knowing how to locate, vet skill set , communicate issues, take advantage of the opportunity to learn more, etc are all great skills to have. My lack of these skills is probably why some things around the house outside of my skill set get left neglected.

With so much technology there are literally videos online that will show you how to fix or do anything. Also a lot of so called handymen really are not the best.
I learned to fix things myself because paying contractors are a rip off. I installed new flooring, painted, built a fence, installed new kitchen cabinets, new electrical panel, new plumbing and a garburator, changed my oil and brake pads, and spark plugs, and more.
Nothing is stopping you from learning to do things but yourself. You can also save thousands of dollars.

As a maintenance technician I approve of this message.
The classic plumber buttcrack at 1:08. Never gets old in cartoons doesn't it? 😏
Beside that, I had to giggle what *Burnie* commented in the comments that it's been 3 years that Randy has been selling Tegridy Weed because of the beginning of covid-19 that occurred in 2020 which is quite dreadful to think about how it's been that long ago we used to wear face masks and seeing all the cases going up and how Italy went through a covid plague. 😷
I seriously do miss the Marshs' old home in South Park as it somewhat feels different knowing how it's all about Randy and less about Stan but still adore the show Trey & Parker worked their Terrance & Philip butts for us in a terrific way! 😄
As for Randy talking to the handyman, it certainly does seem like this generation can be a little lazy sometimes because my brother & I would've to walk out of our apartment to ask the office even though we can have our mother call, to ask a maintenance man to repair any broken appliances within 4-7 days tops free of cost! 💸
What I really like about our neighborhood is how friendly both maintenance men we have are as one in his mid-30s I sorta have a crush on (Alberto) is from Cuba while the other one is around his 40s? I believe from Serbia that I can't pronounce his name that rhymes with Dan lol and they may as well be the Mario Bros. on repairing our windows & pipes in our house! 😇

Btw Randy is my favorite thing in the universe
I thought he was going to pull out a youtube tutorial, mess it up so badly, and refuse to let anyone help him
This will legit be most of us as parents in the future. Then future kids will say "South Park predicted the future" 💀
it's already the reality in the bigger cities. They don't know how to service or fix anything. They either throw it away or call someone to fix it. My friend lived in Bethesda, Maryland for 3 years recently, the stories he told were crazy. If say a furniture set had loose screws, the people there would set it out for the trash, instead of turning the chairs over and tightening the screws or bolts. If anything major happened in these areas like electrical blackout, communication blackout, EMP pulse, catostrophic storm, massive earthquake, riots, etc, hundreds of thousands would die in really stupid ways.
I love the "handiman" character
One of the funniest faces and voices
I broke so much**** as a kid/ teenager, THAT my father would make me fix/repair all of it, also learned how to work on cars after I got my first batter/hoopty, THANKS to one of the fathers in the neighborhood who helped me keep it running! so I could pretty much fix/repair/build anything!
