Yes. Her appeal in 2015 seemingly made the appeal judges so angry that they substituted her 30 years with the death sentence. She then decided to tell the truth during her petition for resentencing in 2018 because she saw that no judge was buying her story.
We always strive to stick to facts and nothing but the facts. At times i have reservations about judgments and the prosecution's case against the accused and the kind of defence mounted but i cant "carry" the same into the story. If you listen carefully to my narration, the verdict is clear not necessarily the one handed down by the trial judge. Keep watching. Thank you!
Sad story here.... I watch lots of such cases on CI and Discovery ID, good coverage but where is forensic evidence to this case? Its wrong to have someone in jail who did not commit a crime :(.... Am aware Kenya lack modern equipments and proper infrastructure to solve many mysteries of murder and other crimes in our society. I fell for the children since am a victim when am mother was murdered and no arrests to date 6 years down the line!!
Christine Mbugi me too im mourning this judgement because the trial was not taking seriously by both police and trial judge but the good news the lady has arldy appealed en we hope the appeal judges will overturn this decisions and grant the lady her freedom because those killed her husband are still at large while innocent person who loved the late husband and her children she is suffering and living in pain of her late husband and be separated with her loving daughter en son. the trial judges should carefully look her appeal in hope her freedom will be restored so as she cause reunited by her family.
have been watched "medical detectives" I believe you are among the best......I hear Kenya will soon have a forensic lab.....Big up bro your future is bright, the lab will up your game further.
The Applicant planned and carried the execution of her husband, the victim of the crime. The plan was elaborate and well thought. She had accomplices. After inflicting injuries to the deceased which later proved fatal, the Applicant put in place an intricate hoax to put off the investigators from her trail. Unfortunately for her, her ruse came unstuck. The reason she gave for committing this heinous crime beggars belief. She indicated in the re-sentence report that she intended to scare her husband from his infidelity. This court noted that at the time the Applicant and the deceased had been married for eighteen (18) years. Much as this court considers the Applicant’s positive change in behaviour, it will not overlook the heinous nature of the crime that the Applicant committed. All along kumbe she was guilty.
The truth will set you free, but the fact is innocent people have suffered a lot through shoddy job from investigators relating almost every crime with '' inside job".
my dear freds, this woman is not guilty, for those who r saying her face is prooving hr lies n again she don't cry,wud like to tell you that, when someone is telling the truth don't cry,I was in lang'ata n I was judged for nothing bt .this woman has reached to apoint of being strong coz she is innocent n judged for nothing she never know will happen at the end of the day n that's why she was in hr business the whole day,may God inspire our kenya judges n give them knowledge to judge, she has brought up hr children n husband well,,,,,when someone is innocent don't cry while talking
My God this is a lady i used to know they were my clients when i was selling properties in Nairobi.Woiye they loved each other so much.May God see her thru and the children too.
+Isabel Wangui anet had been robbed, her family harassed and her husband hacked [apparently almost dying] yet she had all the strength and courage to drive alone from Garden Estate after 2.00 am up to Thika instead of turning back at Juja to rescue her husband
The lady is guilty as charged...First and foremost the coincidences are just too many...Then she lacks remorse whatsoever even when narrating her story....It totally lacks the emotional aspect of someone narrating the loss of a loved one..No tears, no pain in the face...She might as well be narrating about a lost handkerchief or pen or something not so valuable....She is cold blooded and very cunning....My last one to anyone,'The next time you want to sin, don't tag alone other peoples children like that 'Obongi'....sin alone don't mislead desperate people into your messes...My assumption is that he was promised a lot of money, and probably not told it was something as grave as murder, and being a security personnel, he was compromised...because we all know how compromised they can get due to poor pay and high cost of living in Nairobi...Lastly, for those who are doubting, read this.... kenyalaw.org/caselaw/cases/view/90652/
+Waridi Iatum I have been with her ...so just know you dont know what you are talking about. She has been all that you may think ... is has not done. i hear you .. you are analising something thats been going on for years frm a mere story. She has been going through theray and counseling soo be on the know
True, there's enough evidence to place her at the center of the crime. What I've learned is most convicts play victim of verdicts issued by courts of law. While there might be cases where people are convicted wrongly, 95+% of cases are justified.
I really feel sad for these mama and her children. My brother was robbed in his house in Jamhuri estate after which the robbers went with him and left him very far, gave him fare and told him not to report to the police or they would come back for him. They had left the other family members tied. Not everyone in jail is guilty. So many people are innocently there in jail . i wonder what these judges will tell God on the day of reckoning
She finally admitted to killing her husband back in 2019 but saying she only wanted to scare him,,,i was so sympathetic with her like most of you but a lot of things were just not adding up so i found out
Kenyan detectives go for the easier suspect for an easier conviction. Incompetent at its best. I believe her. She does not look like the type. Why would she pick a day when her kids are in the house. She makes so much sense.
So the lady was frog Marched for 3 kms by 4 masked men, went through the guarded gate still with the four men(masked still) until she reached her house.note: she had called her son so that they could meet as usual, but the son who was called was inside the house with a relative when the mum arrived. She later drove the masked men out of the estate without anyone noticing she needed some help. Anyway she was sentenced to face the hangman's noose today by the court of appeal.
She doesn't mention how her and the assailants got to the car as it was in the garage. How did they access the garage as they are usually closed at night? Then which security light was faulty? Was it there residential place or business premises? If it's the residential the timing is telling and that loops in the guard. The woman does not mention what time she was accosted with hooded goons? If she was running a salon she cannot open past 8:30 pm. Whatever the estate you reside 8:30 pm is still busy with motorists and paedestrians alike. How can 4 hooded pistol wielding people walk an abductee 3KM and go unnoticed near the Commissioner Of Police residence. Then how can a lone woman risk walking alone for such a long distance at night? Why didn't she just drive back home after dropping the thugs and rush to the Commissioner' house and tell the guarding GSU what had happened? Alternatively she would have driven to Muthaiga Police station or Kasarani Police station. The shock theory does not add up. Africans don't have those shock issues only whites do and a select few. Lastly for people to carry out such an act new the Commissioner's house means they were very confident they would succeed and leave undetected. That confidence can only be achieved if you have an insider and that is the wife. She came with them and left with them. Secondly she is the only one who may have motive which is inherit the husband's wealth and/or avenge his extra marital affairs which is common with monied drunkards.
@@leonardkikuvi1800 in addition, in the history of robbery, there is always a get away plan, the robbers cant have relied on kidnapping the lady as their get away plan if they weren't sure she would come through.
If only there was a way to sign a petition for immediate retrial. I would be at the forefront. Things don't add up. I don't think she killed her husband. From what I've heard here, this was a mistrial.
This woman is lying guilty has charged, how can murderers tell you to drop them after committing a crime..no criminal can leave a suspect alive..she planned it but the deal went sour the man died, the children are supporting since I understand there position it's hard to remain parentless..
Forensic science is so vital n such case's. ..police in kenya are known for doing shoddy job's especially where they ger bribes to crucify such pple n the name of property. ...too bad 2 children left orphans. However if police did their job properly without interference the real culprits could've faced justice ..Although I don wanna speculate without seeing the statement taken the very day.
I knew Gituma very well, he used to irrigate our throats sasawa. However I don't buy the wife's story at all at all. How did she end up with phone numbers of these criminals? Word on the street is she did it...guilty as charged. I feel sorry for the kids though!
Mr Kazibure, please tell me Janet was set free from prison am reading this very late,i used to see this couples in church QUEEN OF APOSTALS ......i feel very confused because i saw a beautiful family in front of my eyes.....am shocked to see that what GOD had joined together everything has fallen apart, where are the sisters to Janet,brothers...hope their are really supporting the kids......i've gotten the shock of my life.why would Janet do that,Gituma looks like a man who loved his family......i hope she never did that.
Injustice of the highest order. Kenyan investigators are highly incompetent. I can’t understand why the judges don’t follow beyond reasonable doubt for such cases. It is sad for the kids too. This changed their world completely. Are there any innocence projects in Kenya?
Normally as with all casefiles, after watching the clip, I read through the judgement and tell you what, there was overwhelming evidence. That aside the woman deep down seems cunning, even the fact that the children don't say 'she is innocent' speaks alot, that even the daughter chose not to say a word on camera. It's sad they all know their precious mother planned all this, and that is beyond reproach.
Just search the internet. She appealed in 2014 and was convicted to death. Then she petitioned the court for resentencing in 2018. This time she was resentenced to additional 10 years from 2019. Needless to say, in that petition for resentencing, she admitted she killed her husband but that she only intended to scare him
These cases and convictions leave me wondering where these judges went to school. These cases even though real and lives are lost the handling look like "mchezo ya watoto" I think the whole system is messed up.How do you rule guilty or even not guilty without any forensic evidence? God have mercy on the poor countries.
Am no judge but can you release this woman with immediate effect,Relatives fashion is what made the judge jail this woman but relatives are just selfish, and the judge could have sensed this.I wonder which woman no matter how devilish she can be would get men to kill her husband in-front of their kids.
Muturi, it is unfortunate that in African set up it is believed that wives are always the cause of their husbands' death. So the jealous relatives take advantage of this and revenge by accusing the poor and defenceless widows.
100% i agrred with u nicholas jealous relative give wrong pieces of evidence and the african judges accepted to jail an innocent african lady really very sad
plus I thought such evidence against an accused person needed to either be proven beyond reasonable doubt and in this case by corraboration......no one else testified in support of the relative, not even the people in the same place with him/her. Plus weren't they all locked up in some toilet? How loud were these thugs speaking that only he/she heard? Just bonkers
The Court established that the lady hired the killers to initially scare the husband from infidelity..This was in the re-sentence report...She indeed planned the murder of her late husband...But after Appeal in 2019, the Court gave her a 10 year sentence and the death sentence set aside..She will be released sometimes in 2029...
u gys a fool wapi umeona case file mtu akakubali kua alihusika? n if sm1 is lyng utamjua tu kwa maneno yake, dnt expect this woman to agree kua alihusika wakati stl analilia awe huru akaponde mali ya mtu ameua.....
How can those gang ask the Janet to drive em after the incident, how stupid is that! something is not adding up, in my view i think conspiracy ili tembea , but God knows best.
In 🇰🇪 you are jailed by use of circumstancial evidence. Kenya is one country you will never understand cos the rot is just too much. No physical evidence, no motive but found guilty. What a country
but @grace justice cannot be search by presuming another victim is resposible for killing the husband!!! she has arldy made an appeal and we hope appeal judges will overturn high court judge decision en set her freedom.
she planned it i can see how her facial expression n body language plus she doesnt mean a word she's telling . They are way too shallow....She is as guilty as charged and the guard too... i feel sorry for her kids --------------->THANKS Sir Dennis onsarigo great show !
Kenya has the best CID officers in Africa, With inadequate forensics they are able to solve cases, there is always two sides of the story, In order for her to be prosecuted, there must has been overwhelming evidence. Good show, but they should also hire actors to make the scenes lively. They will be able to creat a lot of oppotunities for the youth.
After watching this episode for the sixth time, from my end I can categorically say that those gangs used this woman and she was not part of the scheme. Circumstantial evidence was majorly at play here. If this would have happened in countries like US the truth would have been out long ago. I wonder if the investigation team dug deep on information like cell phone pinging. If she was part of the scheme then she must have communicated with them. Funny part is how would a woman plan for such when her own son was in the house? Some people appeared to have been wrongfully and wrongfully convicted while the main suspects are outside enjoying their free time. A case like this needs a fresh trial to determine whether she was part of the plan or not. With all the technology at our disposal at the moment she really needs a free trial including the security guard.
TO ALL who have watched, read Janet's story. Just know there is more to it. Only God knows better but behind the scene there is much more that's unknown and known to me is the bigger mightier forces behind this case...The evidence is weak too. I have had a chance to journey with Janet and i must say she is a strong Woman. Over the years she has displayed integrity of higher level and has managed to keep her family strong even while in Prison ... her children have suffered emotionally .. lets me say they have been through it all and that they are the most strongest people i know. Janet's son had an accident awhile back and no member of their dad's esteemed family was there for him... other than Aunties from mum's side and a cousin who stays with them. As i always say ... the guilty one's are free and fit. Such cases makes me question the manner in which murder cases are investigated in this country. Well ...ours is not to judge but to walk with the victims. Still waiting for the moment of truth in this case. Assacinators, car Jackers behave exactly the way they did with Janet. They will kidnap a person to disguise their identity/intention. so who suffers in long run... the victims.
And where are carjackers if at all you now much about the so called evidence?? this woman is just a victim of poor justice process and shoddy police investigations period!!!! spare us mr Evidence
You do not know what you are talking about. Every one (may be except you) knows that a case with shoddy investigations can not stand in court, it will definitely be thrown out for lack of evidence. But even the court of appeal concurred with the High court's ruling based on evidence before the court.
I am reading comments and i can conclude that common mwananchi cannot be judges because they react based on emotions. This video is not a court live proceeding and obviously cannot reflect the true judgement
Musa would always complain that he wasn't safe and he was worried janet would eventually kill him.Continue resting in peace.
Google the names and you will get the judgment. Most of these people lie on camera but what happened in court is very different

Yes. Her appeal in 2015 seemingly made the appeal judges so angry that they substituted her 30 years with the death sentence. She then decided to tell the truth during her petition for resentencing in 2018 because she saw that no judge was buying her story.
A judge and a panel of jury can't wake up and decide to slap 34 years for suspects for no tangible and good reason.
if what they say is true, then the jury must have been totally drunk, or they swapped cases?
they can they are hyman theycan err
this is Kenya nani...when you are accused...you'll take this back... it happens...to people all the time ...especially those accused of rape
Christine Mbugi
me too im mourning this judgement because the trial was not taking seriously by both police and trial judge but the good news the lady has arldy appealed en we hope the appeal judges will overturn this decisions and grant the lady her freedom because those killed her husband are still at large while innocent person who loved the late husband and her children she is suffering and living in pain of her late husband and be separated with her loving daughter en son. the trial judges should carefully look her appeal in hope her freedom will be restored so as she cause reunited by her family.
have been watched "medical detectives" I believe you are among the best......I hear Kenya will soon have a forensic lab.....Big up bro your future is bright, the lab will up your game further.
Kenya is yet to have a forensic lab😂@@EdgarKimutai
Can't agree more, so much immorality in the society. Only God knows how many people are behind bars as a result of miscarriage of justice.
my dear freds, this woman is not guilty, for those who r saying her face is prooving hr lies n again she don't cry,wud like to tell you that, when someone is telling the truth don't cry,I was in lang'ata n I was judged for nothing bt .this woman has reached to apoint of being strong coz she is innocent n judged for nothing she never know will happen at the end of the day n that's why she was in hr business the whole day,may God inspire our kenya judges n give them knowledge to judge, she has brought up hr children n husband well,,,,,when someone is innocent don't cry while talking
Miriam nyamus she is innocent the case must be revisited. I don't know wat is wrong with the justice system in many Africa countries
Miriam nyamus
Foul Play ...That guy was Killled and It sounds like an inside Job ! there are reasons behind all this .
these children are orphaned in a way. my heart aches for these beautiful souls. God see them and mom through.
Isnt it weird that the judged pegged his judgement on the fact that "she led them to her home", a criminal cannot be that stupid.
Find a good lawyer and appeal the case. To me there was no enough evidence to convict the two.
God is her deliverer that's all I can say so sad
May Allah intervene for this family.
She is guilty, the thieves could have killed her too and take the car with them, so it doesn't make any sense for what she is saying
She has been going through theray and counseling soo be on the know
I too on the bases of evidence before court, would convict her
True, there's enough evidence to place her at the center of the crime. What I've learned is most convicts play victim of verdicts issued by courts of law. While there might be cases where people are convicted wrongly, 95+% of cases are justified.
Police unearthed cellphone communication between her and the assailants. There's no way you can get out of that .
But why report her phone stolen if she had something to do with it,,,, at the same time her story doesent really add up.
There is a key here
I agree with you
Janet's story does not add up but God will judge those who did it even if it was a plan, for the man, RIP and may your soul find eternal peace
She knew something
Why do you say that
Polisi wa kenya, hawajui kufanya uchunguzi. Nadhani kenya inanuka sana Rushwa. Pia kenya imechafuka sana kwa ujambazi na uporaji.
Wow , i would die yo be in the shoes of this family ; but the story is not ading up straight ooo
shame on those saying that the lady was a Kikuyu
Embu or meru close enough.
I can't see innocence in her eyes
She finally admitted to killing her husband back in 2019 but saying she only wanted to scare him,,,i was so sympathetic with her like most of you but a lot of things were just not adding up so i found out
So she arranged the plan with the thugs??
Where is the story?
Janets argument isnt fine,,that I wouldn't have given out my phone,at that time she should have been fearing for her life
May God bless Janet and his eyes are seeing and may he be the judge. Pole mum Qatar
@@leonardkikuvi1800 the soldier says they got in with a taxi.... So many loose ends
@@leonardkikuvi1800 in addition, in the history of robbery, there is always a get away plan, the robbers cant have relied on kidnapping the lady as their get away plan if they weren't sure she would come through.
Its sooo sad, innocent souls crying for help while the actual n real wrong doers are out there @large. My heart is bleeding for this
Painful
Both successful men and poor men are at danger in this society. You either get robbed, killed, or maimed...or you get rejected by family and friends
If only there was a way to sign a petition for immediate retrial. I would be at the forefront. Things don't add up. I don't think she killed her husband. From what I've heard here, this was a mistrial.
did you get this?
This woman is lying guilty has charged, how can murderers tell you to drop them after committing a crime..no criminal can leave a suspect alive..she planned it but the deal went sour the man died, the children are supporting since I understand there position it's hard to remain parentless..
Pia hata judges wa kenya warudi shule wana matatizo
woiye GOD have mercy.....why they CID favour one side????
Guilty as charged
If she had a good lawyer just maybe things would have been smoother
My God innocent people wanateseka wauwaji wako huru, hawa ma judge wanafanya nn.so sad
Judges are not fools...she is guilty as per the judge's statement
may justices prevail janet,God is with you
Forensic science is so vital n such case's. ..police in kenya are known for doing shoddy job's especially where they ger bribes to crucify such pple n the name of property. ...too bad 2 children left orphans. However if police did their job properly without interference the real culprits could've faced justice ..Although I don wanna speculate without seeing the statement taken the very day.
Body language can tell she is lying.
🧐🧐🤔🤔😂😂😂 hunanga chills
I knew Gituma very well, he used to irrigate our throats sasawa. However I don't buy the wife's story at all at all. How did she end up with phone numbers of these criminals? Word on the street is she did it...guilty as charged. I feel sorry for the kids though!
true
She killed the husband. She appealed and confessed to killing him
Weka emotions kando
Normally as with all casefiles, after watching the clip, I read through the judgement and tell you what, there was overwhelming evidence. That aside the woman deep down seems cunning, even the fact that the children don't say 'she is innocent' speaks alot, that even the daughter chose not to say a word on camera. It's sad they all know their precious mother planned all this, and that is beyond reproach.
Where can one get the judgement?
also wondering how the two gang members in front new the direction to the house.......she seems cunning to me also
Just search the internet. She appealed in 2014 and was convicted to death. Then she petitioned the court for resentencing in 2018. This time she was resentenced to additional 10 years from 2019. Needless to say, in that petition for resentencing, she admitted she killed her husband but that she only intended to scare him
So she engineered a roberry to rob herself of the cash she collected, at her own salon?
I feel like this mother is innocent
These cases and convictions leave me wondering where these judges went to school. These cases even though real and lives are lost the handling look like "mchezo ya watoto" I think the whole system is messed up.How do you rule guilty or even not guilty without any forensic evidence? God have mercy on the poor countries.
I too would convict her , read the whole case Republic vs Janet Karamana (2013)
This is a black man's country.
@@machariakaguru3033 After your reply, today I read the trial judgment and appeal judgment. I concur with you I would have convicted her too.
was she released this is 2019
she was later sentenced to hang after a failed appeal trial but the soja was released.
Am no judge but can you release this woman with immediate effect,Relatives fashion is what made the judge jail this woman but relatives are just selfish, and the judge could have sensed this.I wonder which woman no matter how devilish she can be would get men to kill her husband in-front of their kids.
Mama you couldn't have hidden the number because his family, friends and work new his number... tracking is mandatory even if you put another sim card
God is the only person who can give justice here, our system has failed us kabisaaa
when the law caughts up with someone its when one becomes in reality
circumstantial evidence... a judge who relies on theories and a jealous relative evidence to send an innocent wife to jail. wow
I agree with you, this is a case of family jealous, meanwhile the kids are suffering.
Am glad someone agrees with me
Muturi, it is unfortunate that in African set up it is believed that wives are always the cause of their husbands' death.
This woman loved her husband .even in death she called him daddy
The Court established that the lady hired the killers to initially scare the husband from infidelity..This was in the re-sentence report...She indeed planned the murder of her late husband...But after Appeal in 2019, the Court gave her a 10 year sentence and the death sentence set aside..She will be released sometimes in 2029...
Those people saying she is not crying as she narrates people grieve differently
The Security guards failed their job. Rip Gituma
u gys a fool wapi umeona case file mtu akakubali kua alihusika? n if sm1 is lyng utamjua tu kwa maneno yake, dnt expect this woman to agree kua alihusika wakati stl analilia awe huru akaponde mali ya mtu ameua.....
She might have killed him...He came with the thugs and left them..Do you realise he didn't harm the son.
Why didn't the things hurt another person , only the husband ???? Watu Si wajinga buana , 😂😂😂
only in Kenya your guilty until proven rich woiyeee
Jah Gal Bity ....WAH bur I agree
You are guilty unless you can afford to be innocent in Kenya, sijaiona tajiri akienda jela
Only God knows the truth this case is so confusing but why did you allow to home with pipo you dont know
i heart goes to the kids.
Note that the son says that he and the other victims were locked up in the bathroom while the mom states that they were locked up in the toilet.
AYALA-They can be in the same room
Maybe individually or bathroom and toilet are together.
The bathroom/toilet might be one. In most cases ziko pamoja.
Why killed someone because of love? The woman deserves a life sentence
How can those gang ask the Janet to drive em after the incident, how stupid is that! something is not adding up, in my view i think conspiracy ili tembea , but God knows best.
Anthony Trueman same ..
Some things not adding up...
Almost same case with Solomon's and Jane's 😢
We have finished ...😢
In 🇰🇪 you are jailed by use of circumstancial evidence. Kenya is one country you will never understand cos the rot is just too much. No physical evidence, no motive but found guilty. What a country
She is lying
Can the kids re-appeal for their mother i feel she is innocent & besides there was no motive....
Guilty.
The dead too deserve justice!!!!!!
but @grace justice cannot be search by presuming another victim is resposible for killing the husband!!! she has arldy made an appeal and we hope appeal judges will overturn high court judge decision en set her freedom.
I hope she was let free,,,its so sad
The audio is poor
she planned it i can see how her facial expression n body language plus she doesnt mean a word she's telling .
They will be able to creat a lot of oppotunities for the youth.
nick yawa
Wow so many police officers here i wonder why the government has not hired you all
You mean nobody alerted the husband prior to his arrival?
This lady is guilty
True
Read Judge Ombija's ruling. I would have also convicted her given the evidence provided by prosecution.
And where are carjackers if at all you now much about the so called evidence?? this woman is just a victim of poor justice process and shoddy police investigations period!!!! spare us mr Evidence
Keep your feelings to yourself!!!Read the judgement before commenting. There was no any carjacking, all that was a coverup effort by the accused.
You do not know what you are talking about. Every one (may be except you) knows that a case with shoddy investigations can not stand in court, it will definitely be thrown out for lack of evidence. But even the court of appeal concurred with the High court's ruling based on evidence before the court.
Maybe you live in Mars.
The evidence itself was not enough to convict anyone..
Her phone and six other circumstancial coincidences fixed her up. Did she appeal?
I am reading comments and i can conclude that common mwananchi cannot be judges because they react based on emotions. This video is not a court live proceeding and obviously cannot reflect the true judgement
