Well it’s his choice to forgive she caused nothing but pain and suffering for Mitch it takes time to forgive after that.

Poor Mitch.. I couldn’t forgive cheating. Hurts too much. Gail had no right to expect anything from him. I know Dawson wants them to fix it but his father wasn’t ready to forgive here yet. Forgetting is the hardest thing to do.
Also it don't matter if one or the other is faithful throughout the rest of their lives, the "Once a Cheater, Always a Cheater" Mentality frequently kicks in.

@@nateflannery9365 I don’t believe in the once a Cheater always a cheater. One time is a mistake, second time is not. Gail purposely made the choice to do keep repeating the same mistake. I think someone can make a mistake and never do it again however if it keeps happening then it’s no longer a mistake.

Can’t blame Mitchell I mean Gail was so wrong she has a great husband that loves her and she goes and cheats on him that was uncalled for so seeing each people isn’t going to help this marriage and putting Dawson in this isn’t right.
Remember she cheated because life was too perfect.
Dunno what you mean? Before she was looking to go further in her career but was up against younger women. No one questions a guy like Mitch’s age but in tv & journalism women have a short time to make it 😢

“You gotta get beyond your own ego and forgive her.” When the woman hurts the man the man is expected to sweep it under the rug and just move on. No hurt is allowed no anger, no matter what the offense. Just get over it. Such garbage.
What about the flip side? Men cheating? Blame is easy but sometimes women have to suffer a lot of sleaze before finding a “good man”
Dawson would freak out and cry over the smallest thing relating to his insignificant little relationships but expects his dad to just move on when his wife cheats on him after all those years lol this show had some bad writers sometimes let me tell ya
I wouldn’t be in the middle of that if I was in Dawson position
I know it is a very poor excuse, but Dawson was a teenager at the time who didn't know how to pick his battles, including staying out of other peoples marriages (especially, his Mother and Father's Marriage).

Even though Gail is the one who cheated in the story, I was always on her side rather than Mitch's. A mistake is human. And Mitch acted like charging Gail could balance the scales. But it doesn't work like that. At some point, you have to make a choice: forgive or leave.
If you a man u would not talk like that.
She said she did it cause life was too perfect. And a mistake is once . Not repeatedly.
