I caught the game in the 4th Quarter and thought that Memphis wasn’t going to make it. Memphis teams are historically known to grab defeat from the jaws of victory. But 12-1 is amazing. Memphis historically was an awful football team.

Refs tried everything in their power to keep Memphis from winning this. Un-called hitting out of bounds... Un-called safety on the kick-off... Was so stressful watching this one...
A couple of reasons. Following the ESPN college gameday game against SMU, they sold out a 60k seated stadium. The university sold tickets for $5. Memphis almost never has sellout games. They totally make tickets expensive for the AAC Championship game to try and make lots of money.

Sec teams look for top coaches landon, coach fickell hasn't done anything to get him a top program coaching job, especially if he cant win the American conference. Memphis is a good team yes but if you cant win clutch games that matter why are you coaching the team? Look at Cincinnati record 10-3 and all 3 losses were to ranked teams and all 10 wins came from trash bottom of conference teams not 1 of them were ranked
