- I'm not a big fan of 5th gen Valstrax but at least it was a good challenge. If you want to try this script with Adrenaline, have fun dealing with Remobras, Rachnoids and even your own Hellfire Cloak killing you randomly, lmao.
I used Velkhana's SnS just because it has high raw, purple and is really comfy to build, so don't take this as the absolute best choice (unless you go Frotscraft). For general hunting you are probably better with Wroggi or Lucent SnS against him.

Hi! I’m new to speedrunning and I have a question. Why didn’t you use perfect rush in this run? Does it have worse damage than just using the other combo or was it just so you have more control?
Perfect Rush was nerfed compared to Iceborne (in that game it was super OP to the point the rest of the moveset is almost irrelevant) that's why I rarely use it. You can make it work in Sunbreak for some speedruns but I will recommend it mostly for pure RAW matchups. PR also is kinda slow so it's only for big openings. Sword combos on the other hand, shine a lot now because of the fast speed animations, low commitment and incredible sinergy with elemental sets and even with Buildup Boost sets (for Lucent, Flaming Espinas or Wroggi SnS). In this particular run I made a couple of mistakes and a bit later uploaded a 3'23 video or something around that time, but that was title update 4, now the goal should be at least sub 3 mins for Risen Valstrax.
How can you do good damage on his head with sns?

How much weaker is the default silkbind move of the SnS (the spin one) is compared to the one you're using? Would you recommend the one you're using over the other one for people that aren't good and not doing speed hunts like this?
You mean Windmill? I still use it cause Metsu Shoryugeki is bad against some specific matchups like Velkhana, Diablos and Risen Chameleos (strong elemental matchups or head is a bad hit zone). Metsu is super strong and builds a lot of KO but also has a couple of downsides. Recharge is slow, doesn't do any elemental damage at all, and it gets a lot extra damage from Offensive Guard but the effect only lasts for 15 secs, IMO not worth it in multiplayer when you are and not the only focus of the monster. My advice will be, if you can counter consistently with Metsu against a specific monster then go for it, but if you have a hard timing it then Windmill is fine cause Metsu without the counter the damage is almost the same and Windmill will recharge way faster.

What's the trick involving the barrel bombs? Do you hit it THEN metsu or just metsu?
Put bomb with your weapon drawn, do lateral slash (A button on Nintendo Switch) and quickly metsu after

Thanks! Layered armor is a reward from an event called "Beaten to the punch". The original colors are black and red.

I guess perfect rush isn’t perfect dps, which is a shame. I really like pulling it off on the occasions I actually have the monster down to do it.
PR it's still good for a high raw SnS but unlike Iceborne is way less OP and a bit slower so pretty much only worth it when the monster is down. It also got some other perks like way less sharpness consumption than regular sword attacks and KO buildup.

Thanks man! Yeah, I also dislike a lot of the attacks he does and his vertical range is crazy. But what I actually hate are the Remobras here, annoying little things.
Why is it dmg so frickin high?
Adrenaline food gives + 30% raw damage when your health is super low, that's why I use Berserk to deplete my HP bar at the start.
Why hell fire cloack?
For 2 things, it triggers Coalescence for a bit extra damage but more importantly here is that I needed the extra CC cause Elder Dragons can't be traped and this is a long fight. For a regular and shorter quest you shouldn't need it so you can go for more Attack boost, Agitator or even Heroics 5.
@@SavageDiavolos I see , was thinking that u need 5 levels of hell fire to trip monster. I use for sns buble dance with crisis decos and coalescence for regular gameplay its a realy good combo.
@@ovidijuspocius6336 lvl 4 is the max for this skill but yeah, both Hellfire Cloak and Bubbly Dance are good combos for Coal and Resucitate (if I could fit everyting in the build I will equip that last skill for sure). HC only needs lvl 3 for the purple fire to appear but lasts only when the monster is enraged, at lvl 4 it goes on for an extra minute after enrage passes on, so even if it's not needed in speedruns I think lvl 4 is pretty much mandatory for stuff like anomalies.
