Unpainted miniatures in a game? Both sacrilegious yet authentic. Thanks! Hopefully we get a follow up with her painting. It'd be fun to have a little mini series showing the creation of a Warhammer fanatic.
This was a perfect way to introduce someone into Kill Team and tabletop wargaming. The game experience was distilled to the fundamentals while still genuinely coming off as engaging for both players. The starter set looks great!
I don't like how far from reality the appartment looks like for someone who plays skirmish games. Where is the dust in the corners? Where that single light source that lights up the whole room? Where is the window that must never be opened because the biggest spiders ever get in?
Cheers for the introduction. I will say I’m really surprised to see GW selling MDF terrain. Would be really interested to see the thought processes behind that decision.
The firey spectre of Ferris Manus who leads the legion of the damned comes with a message " the flesh is weak , but vengeance is eternal " as he and his Iron hands go to lay waste to the Emperors children ... Wait what ? Did I just have another dream ? A vision ?
Yes. It is way more complicated, this video is just designed to introduce the most basic idea to new players. Some even say Kill Team offers more depth than 40k
@@frankjones9839 well, most of the rules are different than they show in this video, but it is ok, for the first meeting and showing setting and overall feeling of the game.
That was quite good, but isn’t it better to start by spending an hour or so explaining the details of cover, etc. Also, it’s generally best to take the opportunity to win a game when playing someone new.
Whats with these rules they are playing? 5 wounds, 4 damage heavy bolter with no crit pierce. Shouldnt the starter set teach people to play the game? I like the box as a product though. I iust hope the rules included arent this.
I like the videos but can you (GW) get someone to set-up captions properly for them. It is particularly annoying. Especially since you've shut off Google's auto-captioning.
I played the first edition but didn't continue to the newer rules as you have fixed teams. Is this still the same? Also the men seem to die much faster than they used to 😅
The starter set has beginner-friendly push-fit miniatures which build one way without glue, but the actual Kill Teams for these two factions have a few options you can choose. All the normal Kill Teams have a whole bunch of weapon options and class options. Normally it'll be something along the lines of x number of models can be class A and x number of models class B, C, D etc and then x amount of each class can have weapon option A, or weapon option B. It's not a points based system for building a team, more like mix and matching a few things from the menu.
Still fixed list from a list that you can choose options. Keep in mind that is a tutorial and probably they manipulated the dices, but no, they usually dont die at first gun volley
They're using less Health and operatives than they would have in a proper game of kill team :) Also Kill Team first edition and 2/3 editions are fundamentally different games, Its much easier and much more fun than first Edition KT which was basically just a smaller game of 9th Ed 40k.
"thats the heavy intercessor! The tankiest space marine there is"
Terminators: "Am i just a joke to you?"
@@SpetsnazStevens will we ever see the classic Space Hulk matchup of Terminators vs Tyranids in kill team?!
Tyberos has entered the chat*
Gravis have higher toughness right now, but Terminator saves are amazing
Dreadnought: "I am literally a tank."
Yes. They are. Unfortunately.
"This is the noble Space Marines..."
Don´t lie to the new peopple
That's just corpse worshipers being corpse worshipers.
Nice to see Nick has been released from stasis to do another video.
"Nurglings! I love that!" Papa Nurgle loves you too, little one! 💚
This was awesome. Really like the "intro to the hobby" content so far. The more new players the better. Kill Team, woohoo!

Gonna spend years convincing my fiance to play this in order for her to give up half way into turn 1
That starter set is brilliant
Also my wifes introduction to this was looking at my models and skimming through the ork codex....."I can see how you got into this"

Hi Nick and Soph! Thank you for walking us through our first game of Killteam!
Cheers for the introduction. I will say I’m really surprised to see GW selling MDF terrain. Would be really interested to see the thought processes behind that decision.
@@Kallistosprom - MDF is 1. Cheaper, 2. Easier to make, 3. Eco friendly
For the starter set, it is advertised as being a quick and easy way to get the terrain down immediately and get playing
Anytime GW does a video for newcomers gets a thumbs up from me.

went straight to the comments ... was pleasently surprised that all of you kept your manners 😂
lol I know! Not a bit of heresy in sight!
Nick knocking back a G&T whilst playing there? Booze and Warhammer are a perfect match. Maybe not when painting though.
What an awesome intro to Kill Team video. Just pure fun. That set looks mega, going to have to pick one up.
It's so wierd to not see you in a studio, nice video!
This set reminds me of dark imperium set for 8th of 40k. Which was a fantastic one.
That looked fun, I've never done tabletop but, that looks fun.
Try eet!
ah yes the evil plague marines vs the definitely not evil space marinez
Like Ultramarines are one of the better Marines
If only we had a release date
This beginner set is Perfect for new commers ! you guys did such a good job making the honny accessible with KillTeam.
So cool to put out this kind of video, would love to have video tutorials for every Kill Team Introduction Missions of the new Starter Box ! 😮
No, Nick is biased towards the 13th legion. Not at all.
Excellent intro game.
Show us the plague marine rules! Nurgle demands it! Or, at least, I do
This reminds me introducing my bff to Warhammer with Spearhead
I'm assuming there are a lot more rules to the proper Kill Team game than this?
It's WAY more complex than this with much larger "Kill Teams" of up to or around10 miniatures.
Yes, very much! I'd argue, that rules wise it's one of the more complex non-specialist ones.

An insane amount, yes.

"and these are the good guys...." sure they are.
wow this video is so good that it could convince anyone to play Kill Team and that it's easy to play, excellent. 😮
So wholesome! Yay!
Just ordered the Hivestorm. Going to teach my kids to play Killteam!
Great demo. She was cool to play along ❤
New Orks look amazing! Can’t wait
Great video, easy to understand for new to the hobby
When are goff rockers coming back
I'm curious about the price. Sounds interesting.
Is kill team a good way to start Warhammer? I want to paint and then play a game.
Im a complete newbie to the hobbie and Im getting this for I find it perfect for my other friend who wants to get into it as well.
Welcome back Nick!
When does it come out?
Did you reduce the wounds on the models for the sake of the teaching game or is that standard for the intro box?
I'm getting this literally for the plague Marine characters
So fun concept of video, this is literraly me explaining my wifre what warhammer is...
and where all my money gone...
That was quite good, but isn’t it better to start by spending an hour or so explaining the details of cover, etc. Also, it’s generally best to take the opportunity to win a game when playing someone new.
Great video!
Hard for me to decide…between Necromunda or Kill Team

Buying this set ASAP

What's going on with the lemon and lime in the drink then you can see where it's been edited lol

This is a special demo game, space marines are much hardier in actual games

Depending on a team you get some choice or a lot of choice when choosing operatives, and it was true in the previous edition as well.

I have already gotten hivestorm (love the terrain)
Is it even worth to buy the starter set now?
I thought this would be an actual tutorial
Nice job. Made it look really fun and easy for new folk!
put a link to buy the starter set. went to the website and couldnt find it
Whens it out? TAKE MY MONEY
Will I be able to get my hands on it?
Great intro and loved the accessibility of no glue, mdf terrain and minis not painted. So much quicker to get your minis ready for action 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
What a wonderful box.
Application error:
For the Emperor!!!
Sigh
Plague box when?
No, Nick is biased towards the 13th legion. Not at all.
Excellent intro game.
