An impressive display of surfing prowess by the lesser known names in big wave surfing. Thanks Tim for giving the hardcore big wave dudes solid exposure on the video circuit.🙏
New Subscriber! Great job Tim. I really like that you spotlighted Yuri. He's been such a humble charger for the early days and has become a pillar of the surfing community on the North Shore of Maui. He gave me my first real job out of high school at the original Fish Market Paia in 2006. He's just a great guy that will always greet you with a smile. Aloha
The Eddie was HUGE, great call to go green on the right day! Peahi'i was downright ridiculous, the riders are true warrior's, the waves beyond EPIC. To be able to see this phenomenon on my handheld device truly incredible! I swear I had about 29 heart palpitations during this viewing. Words simply cannot do this justice. How no one died is another myth, glad it didn't happen but it was obvious that one terribly timed moment could easily be your last.
It is so beautiful. Just don’t understand- some people go to the beach just to -listen to the beauty of the ocean sound. Not sure why people put this majestic art- to any type of music. ❤💐✌️🤙
Hookipa was as close as I got to feel what it was like paddling into the Jaw. Sat out side till almost dark, last one out, parking lot emptying, had to go, arms week. Got my ass handed to me. Thanks for the memories.. BNW Peace. (they are burning so cal., like Maui. .
Super gnarly moguls but epic run of swells for sure. Rincon didnt compare anything to Peahi but I snagged couple of 500 plus yards double overhead peelers!
Madness. Having played in waves up to 20' even body-surfing them for fun (many years ago) without a flipper or life vest never mind a tow... I can only imagine the intensity of those waves. Nope not ever! Madness.
I am a big Jaws fan. I was impressed to see the EDDIESWELL video from a different angle. This angle is even bigger and more beautiful. But it's a pity. It's reported as if the Biggest award was decided by Mavericks, who are sure to break the world record. From now on, XXLAWARD is not interesting. I wonder if Mavericks or Crutesbank will continue to dominate? I don't think Nazare or Jaws can win no matter how big they are...
Too bad Kai Lenny wasn't there. While I have huge respect for anyone with guts enough to drop in on these monsters, I'd argue that nobody surfs big waves as well as Lenny- it's amazing to watch him carve up some Peahi bombs and I would have loved to see him on these waves. Still, kudos to all the people who did ride! And how about that last wave?!?! They say it was maybe the biggest wave ever ridden at Peahi- not sure if that's true, but whatever, that thing was huge, and looks like the lip pretty much landed on his head. Brutal wipeout.
I think some bigger deeper fins would tighten up the squirrelly tails I see on bigger waves. JT here late 60's Satellite Bch FL, "Sea Park Surf Team". Puerto Rico 1968, Kauai Oahu 69-80's Aloha
I'm 61 years old now In 1992 I was in Hawaii for 9 days I stayed in Waikiki but I took a puddle jumper to Hilo Hawaii I brought only one joint with me I was so scared I went to the underground parking lot to smoke it And that's where I ran into three locals , I locked up to introduce myself and that's where they said what are you "Vice" (I didn't even know what vice meant) They just laughed because I was so stupid . One of them said don't you know who this is ? I said no I don't know _____"This is ACE COOL (Alec Cooke) A surfing legend at that time They were Peddle cab drivers by night surfers by day None of you may not even know it but I'll never forget it P. S. They had postcards of him riding a wave that was 25 ft measured on the back and 75 ft measured on the face He said a helicopter dropped him two miles off the north shore Where he surfed with a long board (I had a stack of postcards but don't have any left)
Epic swell it’s a real stretch to think that people watching this want anything more than just the waves and not the setup just edited content with highlights of the best waves…can’t invest that much time
It must be insane paddling in. For the true masters, Not knocking tow in, yet that’s a team with a motorized machine. A paddler is on his own, and that is a much higher level considering it’s all on his or her beings consciousness.
Wave volume goes exponential at this size. Hard to comprehend! Thank you Tim for capturing this historical swell and sharing it with the rest of us!

I've been to the last four Eddies - this past one was hands down the smallest of them.
Your videos are always so EPIC
Thank you for sharing your experience and loving what you do.
Great to see Kipp charging, representing Oz!
Wow - fantastic footage from an epic few days...Thrilling! All the different vantage points really put you there, and hearing from the guys, awesome.
Amazing! Thanks for bringing this magic Peahi day to my home!
You've done it again Tim, awesome.
It is so beautiful. Just don’t understand- some people go to the beach just to -listen to the beauty of the ocean sound.
Not sure why people put this majestic art- to any type of music. ❤💐✌️🤙

The very best. Born in 1962 and living in the best time in history 😊 surfing benchmark
Live on Maui. Swell was INSANE! Couldn't make it over for the Eddie but Peahi didn't disappoint! Rahj for the amazing content!!

Dude I thought Lucas was gonna get decapitated on that wave he got but he tucked just enough to avoid catastrophe!🤯 good job brother!🤙🏽
Incomprehensible the amount of water that's moving out there. Glad everybody made it out alive maybe not unharmed but alive.
Hookipa was as close as I got to feel what it was like paddling into the Jaw. Sat out side till almost dark,

Not hype. Great swell event. Beautifully shot❤😊 that skimbourd wave amazing HEAVY.
The size of this winter's waves is crazy so far..
epic waves but Biggest Wednesday soundtrack was way sicker haha
13:53 OMG! 🤯🤯
Epic video - how do you follow up with a photo shoot better than that ? 🤟
Thanks Tim❤
Eddie would go to Jaws. 🤟
Which one would be the biggest ever surfed? Some are claiming that wave at Mavericks is the biggest.
epic!
t whole clip could b called “t insane things some people do w there time” …incredible
The waves they were paddling in at Mavericks looked bigger. 🤙🏽
where was Kai/ outa town!!! fancy missing this….

The image of the camera is top notch, if only there was a way to stabilize this footage since it's a cinema camera
💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗YOU
Where were the Lenny Brothers.
So sick

Wow!!
How big is Walsh's wave at 50:42?
Looks bigger than Alo's at Mavericks perhaps?
Or Benjamin's at 57:38?
Man that guy cartwheeling in that monster is terrifying how do you even take a breath before getting held down.
Same swell Eddie at Waymea?
Where’s all the Peahi local regulars? Those not at the Eddie?
nice
NUTS

go to just out the raw sounds on these videos. makes it more pleasing to watch
i almost cried at about 53.25.Kipp Caddy.fucking lord.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Epic swell it’s a real stretch to think that people watching this want anything more than just the waves and not the setup just edited content with highlights of the best waves…can’t invest that much time
Nathan Florence must have been bumped he missed it
Yup, he probably bumped his hand to his forehead like in cartoons.
He surfed the Eddie event, it's the event to be at. No matter the size elsewhere. Last time it was massive the same thing happened.
Typo he must been pumped he missed it… Not bummed at all 🙃
Simping over NF is sad af!
@@SF-wr4zn yeah. also I don't think Kai Lenny was at jaws either. Was he surfing the Eddie?
Amazing footage, but Bonython always has the worst music in the game. How do you edit to that Crap, turn the sound down and it gets way better 😂
