It's so weird hearing one of their songs start in the middle.
You mean the end? lol
Based on your comment, I'm going to assume you know enough about this band to help me out. I dislike large amounts of harsh vocals, but I LOVED everything else going on in this song. Do they have any songs with less harsh vocals? Like 75% clean 25% harsh kind of mix?
darkdudironaji The only song that might be close is As Icicles Fall.
Brayden Fath That's disappointing :/
I'll probably still listen to them though. They seem to have big chunks of instrumental I can listen to.
i'd probably consider forget not too.
This is the best band I've discovered in my Metalhead life
Holy fucking shit, this band has everything
True one mate! nothing's better than Neo.
Anush Gunner How can mainstream Metal bands be more popular than these guys ?? I mean Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth, and stuff, are good, not denying this. But Ne Obliviscaris are so much more talented than a million Mustaines or a Thousand Hetfields...
80s bro! in their time they were best there were no other bands like them in that time. For now Ne'o is slowly building their fame. I seriously have never heard like these musicians before in Metal industry there are many but these guys are totally out of this world, fucking beauty of metal.
The Metal Worm Children of Bodom is fucking amazing. Check em out if you never have.
Only band to match their creativity are Opeth and Dream Theater
This band is so OP it’s not even fair 😅😅😅
As a violinist and a bass player, I have some experimenting to do.
3:29 I just can't get over that riff... damnn...
Have u heard Devour (black holes) build up at end epic
@@Melodic-Metal One of the best instrumental build ups I've heard in prog metal
7 years later, and i still can't listen without tears, such a beautiful masterpiece!!!
A new life goal is to see Ne Obliviscaris live at least 100 times
Toby K. Already saw them once, 99 more to go
+Toby K. I'm seeing them for the second time in December so it will soon be 98 for me.
+Toby K. just seen them support COF last night. they were awesome
+Chris S lies
+Toby K. I saw them when I went to go see Cradle Of Filth and they were amazing
I love how smiley the clean vocalist/violinist always is lol
+Weeaboo Destroyer I've got him added on facebook, he's a total sweetheart and the friendliest guy you'll ever see
Its a great spectrum between him and the growler^^! Amazing Band.
I do the same thing when listening to these guys. I've never heard metal that can be this brutal and this beautiful at the same time
+Nellson Stout Fleshgod apocalypse my friend,Fleshgod apocalypse...
+alex stone almost there but not quite at this level. Still fucking awesome, I like oracles and love agony
the bassist is a beast!
Lasse Madsen in more ways than one
bah! Too soon!
too bad he's not in the band anymore
@@seanmuldoon3243 that was mean lol
It’s just to bad that he’s more of a wife beating beast.
is that a violin? A fucking violin? in death metal? HELL YES!
You can check bands like Fleshgod Apocalypse and Septicflesh, they are symphonic death metal, which means death metal+orchestra.
check dominia. insane violin in their songs
also Eluveitie. they got violins in there. Folk/Melodeath
wouldn't call it 'death metal'....more 'extreme progressive ''
its progressive black metal imo
Prog will never be the same.
How dare you call this prog! "Did you just assume my genre?!" 🤣
Prog 🤔 I don't know
Amen!!!
@@donniedanko503_2prog as it get!! Like dream theater only with balls!!!
Here, I have lyrics for you:
WASTELAND AND SO BARREN, HAUNTED BY A SEA OF PALE FACES
THE CITY OF LOST CHILDREN, RAISING THEIR DEATH-SHROUDED FLAGS
CAN YOU HEAR THE REDRUM POUNDING? THE HEARTBEAT OF MANY AS ONE...
CURATOR, FATHER... WHAT HAVE WE BECOME?
radiance, blinding horizon
the brilliant sunrise
their horizons, where they seize this life
our children...
painters, they are
they are, the change
painters...
I don’t know why but I laughed at how you capitalised the harsh vocals
@@KelticWarrior999 I've noticed they do that at a couple different lyrics sites. Helps differentiate between Xeno and Tim better I guess
Saw them in NYC today. The talent they have is insane.
oooh WOW!!! I envy you!!!
OH MY GOD WHERE HAS THIS BAND BEEN ALL MY LIFE!!!! thank you black metal werewolf
Wow, this is a really good song. Love how layered it is. Was afraid it was going to be a standard death metal song after the beastly intro but it's really complex and epic.
+RetroGamingTube 85 The album version is even better because it is way longer - this video has only the last - third - part of the song
+wes8723 Well this is the whole song Curator which is one of the movements in the actual song Triptych Lux which again is one of the parts of Painters of the tempest
They are not Death Metal, they are Black Metal with elements of Folk, Jazz, Flamenco and Progressive.
Really? You don't hear the death metal in Citadel? To me, Portal Of I are the "black metal-album" and Citadel their "death metal-album". Love both.
Let's just call them progressive metal and don't bother with naming every inspiration they have in their songs :D
Sure, there are elements of Death Metal too. But essentially, i mean, isn't.
I always come back every once in a while to see the bassist do his funky finger tapping thingamabob.
Had the privilege to have a bass lesson with cygnus when they were in Toronto a few years ago. He's the one who got me into the band, when he plays, it feels like cutting through butter with a hot knife, he's so smoooooooth :) a true legend on the bass.
@@laurentcolombera5805 Cool story bro. I'm glad you guys can get the chance to meet your favourite musicians. It's a bit harder for me to do that where I'm from. And I agree with you. Cygnus is a legendary bassist. Just imagine what he could do with a traditional standing bass guitar. I'm actually more of a drums guy, but even I can appreciate the other elements of a band, especially when the musician portrays their talent as if no effort is needed to pull off the astoundingly complex piece of music they've created.
Martino is so much better 😊
One of the greatest metal intros ever.
Saw them live in a pub last year. Best show. Couldn't move my neck for a week after the show.
I'm not usually a fan of these live music videos, but this was executed so well. I could have watched it intently for the entire 20 minute song.
Hamish Observes I saw it Live. Absolutely amazing.
Men I found this band 5 minutes ago and I'm already a fan.
2:54 One of the best riffs ever, so fucking catchy!
One of the best moments of my life was when I got to see them live in my hometown of Guwahati, Assam, India.
They are simply amazing live!
Looking forward to their future releases, hope they get massive success, a truly deserving band.
Hey man I am from Guwahati as well! I know it’s been a long time since you have posted this comment but I wanted to know where they performed their concert? Thank you :)
ok....so a little skeptical since a friend said to check them out and its not my usual nusic scene....but holy moly these guys are amazing! I'll be buying the album immediately
buy their first album too!!!
A wise investment.
@@MrZhufor Normally I would say that a consumer purchase is not an investment, but their LPs are hard to find and often expensive. If they don't get reprinted, you might be looking at a nice return should you decide to sell.
This is 1 of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard
Incredible
I've been listening to the most different genres of metal for the last twenty years, and To me, this is one of The Most epic songs I've EVER hard.
saw these guys live really good
I come back to this at least once a month since it was released ...just gettting better and better
That bass!
4:25 goosebumps.. no matter how many times i listen to this song.
Without doubt.. this movement has the most powerful ending I've ever heard. Perfect melody, tone, dinamics, nothing could make this any better!!!
2:55 I get goosebumps...holy crap this band is wicked
love this band so much! can't wait to see them here in Portugal
ouvi algo a dizer que talvez eles venham ao Vagos open air de 2016
Still an absolute masterpiece
I cry while listening to this song!! Love it!!!!
Love this band! Been waiting for a music video from them, cannot wait to see them in the US someday.
;)
Vycrance thanks for sharing your opinion prison mike
Vycrance I saw them live, spend time with them :)

I saw them in atlanta and it was the first time me hearing the band and I promise you I can't stop hearing their songs I even took pictures with them, best first concert ever, cradle of filth was there too ♡
The tempo change at 3:30 is amazing. I’ve been a fan of metal for 35 years & if bands like NE is where we’re headed I’ll be a fan of metal for many more. 🤘💪😎
just saw these guys and they are really really good!!! everyone went nuts during their set. go catch them when they hit your town you won't be disappointed
Found this band in 2017 and I feel I am gonna have a great year ahead now :)
3 month in a prison,after listen this song,now i can sleep in peaceful,without any regratted..this song,so pure,heart touching,excellent,unbelivable,brutal and for sure,no word can discribe with this masterpeace..
who knew the last five minutes of a 16 minute long song could be this epic
This band masterpiece.Growl and clean vocal compliance, what more can I say damn!
Great Australian Band I soo them live and it was a very very wery nice. Великолепная своеобразная при этом австралийская команда. Был на их концерте в качестве группы-хэдлайнера, что было незабываемо круто, действительно.
saw them last night in London... brilliant technique and love the crowd warming headbanging riffs...
I am so floored to hear this band. I am a guitar player and songwriter, and been trying to find my own style for a long time. I just can't believe that this band exactly represents what I want to compose. I am equally surprised that this actually exists and that it is very unnoticed.
Perfect ending to a perfect song.
Ay cuánto me encantan. Estoy todos los días esperando que anuncien nuevo disco. ❤️
My favorite movement of Ne Obliviscaris Concerto
seen them live as a special guest for the Cradle of Filth Tour thats recently going on, they blew me away live and this was one of the songs they played.
The main vocalist is a treasure. Such a beautiful voice
Digging the use of the violin!
Aussie!!! yes..dont forget Be'Lakor........so GOOD
This is some of the greatest music I have heard; what a great array of instruments.
His voice is so angelic. Jesus he can bust those last notes and hold them too!
This is the first time I listened to Ne Obliviscaris. And I guess they are my new obsession. Great performance!
0:55 god
The Metal Worm cygnus was the goat
Musically complete
Just when I thought it couldn't get better than Opeth......
It doesnt, but this is very close
@@lorz8940 no it does
@@lorz8940 Opeth hasn't been "Opeth" for like a decade now. These guys are a fantastic heir to that throne.
Almost. But Opeth still does.
As an Opeth fan, I can say NeO is better than Opeth in many ways
This is one of the greatest things I've ever heard. I love this band!
Man, I keep going back to this vid just to know how good & talented this band is.
so good !
the clean vocals.... \m/
This is just... BRUTIFUL! And this is not Overrated! :D
This is totally overrated. buttprog.
+Dorian Grinder Gray who cares if its overrated, are you a hipster?
+Funeral Flesh buttprog is a thing?
+Ed Kumo you can't overrate something this excellent
Funeral Flesh im guessing youre a nickelback fan?
Probably one of the best songs I’ve ever heard. Among my favorite bands of all time! Please keep up the good work.
I'm proud of my country
i wish i could say the same
@@raymondnickolas608 where are you from?
@@leonlx564 Sounds like he is from Bitchandmoanistan.
Beautiful. I need more
this is tsunami of emotions..... simply unbelivable what these guys can make...
First time listening to this band... now im a fan xD
Sounds amazing!
I wish I can hear this song first the very time again
That bass line....❤❤❤
This is one of those bands you HAVE to see live. Your soul moves I swear! My husband's band got to play 2 shows with them. It should be a crime how great they are.
Love this song and the live video was shot beautifully, love it!
Damn this song is truly an epic. This was one of my favorite albums of the year last year. Perfectly written, composed and performed
excelent performance and powerfull ... one of may new favorite band ....woooow its so dope
Absolutely beyond perfection and back!
I still love this song after hearing it for the 1st time.
I imagine being this talented and playing this song on stage.
By the end it must be euphoric. It's a rush to listen.

Those growls are insane!
SO GOOD!
Glad i caught them in 2019 with Obscura, Beyond Creation and others. A FANTASTIC night of extreme metal! Hope to see them in the northeast again when it's doable!
Saw these guys open for cradle and got to chat with both of the vocalists after the show. Super cool guys.
i just had an awakening man, these people are truly gifted
