@@dallasgrubb2272 Thank you, I have them in my library! I have found some similar(ish) bands recently. Gaerea is awesome, Heretoir, and Panzerfaust. I highly recommend them to fans of black metal and blackgaze in Heretoir’s case. They aren’t quite like Kardashev, but similar enough to recommend.
These guys literally just created a whole new style of heavy music. I'm glad to see these guys getting bigger, and hopefully Deathgaze will be the future of heavy music.
I wouldn't say it's a new style. I get a very Algaloch/Moonsorrow/Wintersun vibe from this. Not that it's a bad thing. Those are all excellent bands too.
As a relatively new father, and someone with aging parents, I've been thinking a lot about death, my child's possible/potential pain in their life, and "Torch passing" as a concept. Because of that, this album, and especially this song, hits me right in the heart and soul, so much so that I have a hard time listening to it (in the best possible way). I've always believed that the typical tools of heavy music, like blast beats and harsh vocals, when "performed" rather than just "played" can be one of the most powerful ways to express painful emotions through music. I think that this band is one of the first that I've found who has adopted and ran with this philosophy. This music is DRIPPING with empathy. It's an incredible step, for all of heavy music, towards artistic legitimacy in our society at large for these type of soundscapes. Really amazing stuff. Album of the year for me!

This is one of the only songs I've heard that I can say is unnerving. It's such a beautiful song and it uses the juxtaposition of that beauty and the horror of the lyrics so well.
Whoever added the subtitles, bless you. They're hilarious and I love them (well, all the parts leading up to the actual lyrics. Those still kick the shit out of me, but in a good way).
Lyrics:
“Wait by the river.”
“Something has changed.
Something is different,
I know.
Where have you gone?
It’s getting dark.
Was I left behind?
You’re far away!
Where have you gone?”
Fear.
Child hardened by snow.
Given up to the cold.
“Where have you gone?
It’s getting dark.”
“Follow along the riverbed.
You’ll find her waiting there.
Breathe into your hands.”
She yields to the ground.
White breath above
A quickly waking ghost.
She knows
This is the last moon.
This is the last time she’ll lie awake
Screaming out. Asking forgiveness.
“Mother! Please come back!”
“What did I do?”
“Why did she leave?”
“I didn’t mean to…”
“I’ll do better, I swear!”
“It's my fault!”
“She did this to herself!”
Was I left behind?
You’re far away.
This is my fault.
I will be fine.

Stumbled across Beneath Sea and Sky years ago and absolutely loved it and have been waiting for you guys to drop something like this ever since. You guys deserve whatever success is coming for you, this is amazing
Easily my top 3 favorite album of last year. I'm really happy for Kardashev could re-release this masterpiece with big label. Really deserved it.
This is one of the only songs I've heard that I can say is unnerving. It's such a beautiful song and it uses the juxtaposition of that beauty and the horror of the lyrics so well.
Kardashev is one of my favorite bands for years now. Great they finally get more attention.
Великолепная песня. Собираюсь прослушать все альбомы 🎉
Лучшее. Что. Я. Слышал. За. Год. Спасибо!
Whoever added the subtitles, bless you. They're hilarious and I love them (well, all the parts leading up to the actual lyrics. Those still kick the shit out of me, but in a good way).
