    Two common Tricep pushdown mistakes that are killing your triceps gains.
    The 1st mistake is standing completely straight, which limits the range of motion. Instead, bend over slightly to increase the range of motion.
    The 2nd mistake is moving the upper arm shifting tension away from the triceps and to the lats. Instead, you want to keep your upper arm fixed

    • @Bepo_DBear

      If you move the upper arm all the tension from the triceps shifts away so there is no stretch

    • @england88me
      @england88me Месяц назад

      You'll keep tension on at best half the triceps, give or take depending on your stance/reach abilities. I'd rather have my whole triceps fully engaged and push that to or just off failure all day long, than leave half of the muscle waiting at a bus stop, wondering what it did wrong.

    • @Bepo_DBear
      @Bepo_DBear Месяц назад +1

      @@england88me the thing is if you take your arm all the way up and bring it down, your triceps isn't doing that work so you're not taking away any of your gains. It kinda becomes a lat pullover so if you wanna do that it's up to you

    • @england88me
      @england88me Месяц назад

      @Bepo_DBear absolutely, I don't think anyone mentions taking your arm all the way up and all the way down. I'm sure you will be able to find a great full range of motion coach on RUclips that will help with the stance and to help you feel into the right amount of pull back to allow to find that sweet spot when your whole long head is then fully engaged and pull back from there. Give it a cheeky lil go one time it might just blow your arms up & if you don't want too, staying locked is fine as long as you're enjoying yourself ❤️

    It's probably a mistake for lighter weight. It is not when it's heavier. Trust me. As your weight increases, the resistance up is higher making your entire shoulder also up trying to keep it in the same position, and accidentally stretch the lats. I confirmed my lats and triceps were both affected despite confirming the form in the mirror.
