You guys keep demanding Doug should have on Hiltz gear you must not be a regular viewer because he wears his Green Goblin shirt a few times now it's red and he wears a blue and red Hiltz hat with it sometimes too. Come on man. 😉✌
This is a complex and enormous project-Doug, you are a courageous dude to jump into this endeavor, but from all appearances, you seem to have what it takes to contribute in a competent and productive way. I love your show Chad and Jolene because y’all keep it real, have a great time, and wear success humbly. Bravo! 👏🏻👏🏻❤️🔧
Hi Chad & Jolene, I wish that you would consider moving the door forward one bay. That would make it much easier to get in and out. Thanks for your efforts, Glen
WOW! Thank you all for sharing your amazing talents with us. It is always good but tonight the camera views and you and Doug working as a team. Great video. Thanks again.
Wow that was a great fight Champ glad you got Ol Doodle Doug in your corner he's a big help! And of course the Queen always TCB (taking care of business) excellent! Go team Hiltz!!! 😉✌
Be cool to have a door (tall curved) that folds down, pivoted from the bottom, with built it steps. Looking forward to tomorrow’s episode. Fantastic work thus far! Greetings from NH
Chad always has some good tips and tricks. Thanks for the video Jolene. The biggest problem is getting it water tight where the door’s are. Going to have to make some drip edges so you can put door whether strip on. Nice to have Doug helping.
Nice work Chad, Jolene, & Doug, that panel was a butt kicker! You guys got it on there although it was a true life struggle, especially for Doug trying to push the panel in and hold it. Jolene great work as always on the video and lending a hand. I will be back tomorrow to see the door cut out!
It is really great to see how Chad and Doug work together. I would like to see Doug working for Chad full time. Jolene you have excellent video skills. Your closeup work is totally amazing. I think you are the video closeup queen. Great job to you all. Bill
This project will be a Microwave Oven when it is done. No opening windows or ventilation, with a motor that reaches 190-200 degrees for extended times inside the metal box.
On point ! Your getting it done ! Extra hands makes jobs easier ! Way to go Doug ,! Chad appreciate s your help always ! Thumbs-up Jolene ❤ the boys working diligently !
Rather than be surprised that you have a panel that is difficult to fit, I am amazed that you had so many panels with such long seams to fit so well. Especially when done intirely by hand and eye without detailed dimensional drawings. Long way to say... good eye, good execution.
Doug is the kind of worker I would want if I was a car builder,, Chad you pick some of the best workers to help you bring us so much enjoyment,, good old Doug is also funny
I like the excursion content, and hope you can do it with a different vehicle at least once a week for variety and get some of the cars seen a little more. Thanks
I'm with you on that idea. I think the smaller commuter planes have this type of door. Piano hinge all across the bottom and a web strap (old seatbelt) on each side to keep it from hitting the floor or road.
Bad Chad, you all are kicking ass! I don't know how you get all the idea's, but it's nice to come home after work and watch you. You are a true artist!
Great “REAL” content. It’s really awesome the patience you guy’s have with one another, I can promise you that I would have thrown a few tools ( not saying that would be right) but man great team work and chemistry you guys have with one another. Jolene really does a great job really capturing footage of what it is that you guys are doing. Thanks again for bringing us along.
Doh !.......that's easy ..... teleport key rings ! ......... or put a hatch in one of the front lower panels , i don.t suppose it,s going to be a daily driver so practicality could be supressed for creative artistical alternativeness !!
That was a bugger to put on but it’s looking good now that it’s tacked down,,let’s gonna relly fill out now after the door cut outs are done,,you guys are relly makeing progress now,,great job fellas,,hi to all of y’all,,fina an Jolene too, luv ya’s,,👍👍😀
It’s really starting to come together now, great job on this build and you have the best camera person in the business, great job Jolene !!!!!!! God Bless !!
We All Need To Realize, All Your Builds Are A "1 Of A Kind!" Prtotype In Away! And Yes! An Art Form! This Unique Building Style Is Why We Keep Coming Back! Always So Different! AWESOME!
Why not put doors on either side in front of the wheel wells, hinged at the top. Seems to me that would be a heck of a lot easier entrance and exit then making poor Jolene crawling on her hands and knees and slithering slide around trying to get into the front seat without flopping around into the front seat
I think thats a fine suggestion. I can’t imagine climbing in above the wheel but perhaps he has something we don’t understand yet. However he does it I’m sure will be fine. Not like its going to be a daily driver.
The curve would be difficult to fabricate and weaken the front. Hinges would be tricky too. Building it where he is is the simplest answer maybe not the most ergonomic for the passengers.
In Syracuse when I saw you I had said one of my favorites was the 4dr pickup conversion but I got to say starting from nothing and seeing the progress on this you are nocking it out of the park great job to all of you
Put the same step in the door for the engine door. Aesteticsly makes the gaps flow down the side of the truck. Very cool build that is being done very quickly!
Love the teaching aspects of your videos. Knew nothing about metal work before I started watching these videos! Now I can take on the metal working world! Thanks Chad!
Chad is an artist, has extreme drive, vision, and superbly executes his visions using average tools and skills. His drive and endless work ethic is what makes him great. He is not an exceptionally skilled metal worker. Look up Ron Covel and Wray Schelin for two examples that are.
I have kinda just started to watch about 3 weeks ago and I really dig it and find my checking out all the videos and waiting for the new one every day told my dad about it and got him watching it now too. We have built a few projects ourselves in the garage together and just really enjoy the “realness “ of what you guys got going on so much love and respect to you guys
I think a hatch over the front wheel is a bad idea. Doors in front of the wheel would be best. A hatch over the wheel would be easier but easier is not always the right way.
Jolene that was the best work I have seen being able to get those shot of chad welding inside the Hauler 📽It is looking so good and is a great reflection of all the hard work that yall have done🎯 Just Awesome
Great job team - difficult panel to lay as there seems to be a bit of a curve right at the front and that middle rib just ever so slightly higher then the front rib. Fantastic camerawork as always Jolene as we get to have a bird's eye view each and every time.
I think you should re-consider your entry door location, maybe put a conventional cockpit door on passenger side, including first window then going forward an equal distance enabling you to enter and slide over to driver side, probably not explaining this well, could provide a challenge but not much with your skill set. I think you would need to be a contortionist to get in and out of your planned door
Hi Chad, a lot of us are wondering about the ability of the front duallies or outer dually wheel to swing within the current wheelwell? We are wondering if it is going to rub and require moving the suspension outboard or notching the inside of the wheelwells?
Had a thought about halfway thru the video so I don't know if you have done this. What about anchoring the door at the bottom with hinges and turning the door into a stairway to climb into the vehicle, kind of like an airplane. You would have to reinforce the heck out of the door and probably have to use cables on either side to provide support. Ultimately, it's your vehicle and I will enjoy whatver you do. Just my two cents.
hi Jolene Chad and Doug ,you are doing an awesome job ,a little different to anyone else thats what makes it special !? but my idea for a door to get into thedrivers cabin would have been where the widow is ,simply because you could make a door big enough to walk into the cabin without climbing in ,but for sure its your toy and its awesome i would beproud to go for a ride init whenits finished no matter where you put the door ,like most of your builds I just cant help falling in love with them 😊
I'd say at least 2 gull wing or clam shell style doors/ door up front and make the.front windows like safety escape hatches. Think of safety in a collision or engine fire, how are you going to want to exit safely and quickly? Re fire safety it might be worth rigging up some engine fire auto extinguisher foam sprinkler system. Would be easy to figure out, 2 or 3 fire extinguishers plumbed into sprinkler valves opened by smoke detector or heat detector or a manual override control in the cab.
the oscar Mayer hot dog mobile already exists.. you can make this the cambells soup can.. one thing for sure IF you happen to be in a crash you'll be first one on scene sitting out front like that.. Nice work everyone..
Hi Chad, Jolene and Doug great work you are doing can’t wait to see it finished, quick question are you putting vents in the engine cover to reduce the heat off the engine and exhaust.
Really starting to take shape. Will door be similar to a small plane? Bifold with bottom half acting as a step when open? Trying to see the vision. Got me on edge of seat in anticipation. Great job as always Jolene .
Still feeling that a gullwing front would be better than climbing through a channel into the passenger compartment. Its not to late to hinge the front leaving the floor, steering and pedals stationary. Would be likeva heavy cargo aircraft.
I think Doug deserve a Hiltz tee shirt and cap now!
For about $50.00 bucks he can have them 😂
The Rolling Stone tee 👍 Doug has to make it through the six month review process then maybe a shirt (1) and hat (1) last year’s model.
I agree he should have them
Maybe two T-shirts and a hat😁
You guys keep demanding Doug should have on Hiltz gear you must not be a regular viewer because he wears his Green Goblin shirt a few times now it's red and he wears a blue and red Hiltz hat with it sometimes too. Come on man. 😉✌

@@daddysails8926the literal definition of a motor says it’s a machine powered by electricity or internal combustion
It will look cool and I enjoy watching the process. However, I would be surprised if it is ever be used for its intended task.
I’m glad the central opening is larger , this will allow for the truck being used for luggage etc .
Ventilation could easily be organised with roof vents and filtered openings at front , aircon even possible.

The door should be in front of the wheel. Just a funny shaped door. It will be a narrow door. It will work just fine.
Thank you project manager!!

How do you plan on getting air flow to the radiator for cooling? Right now the radiator looks completely covered with no air flow
same way a Volkswagen does!! Thats my theory

I expect there would be next to no structural integrity in the case of a front end colussion.

Like I have said one should go in through the front grill. Just open the hatch and crawl in....
It would be nice to make some kind of step that would slide out and drop to use to climb in but it would be out of the way of the wheel when driving
