I’m 5’9 and my wife is 5’7. The way I view my height is - “A lot of people tower me, but I also tower a lot of people”. I consider it a blessing as both of my parents are a solid 5’2

@@Xavier-fk7wm I'm roughly the same height about 5'9.5 and some people are taller than me by 2+ inches and some people are shorter than me but mostly by a few inches or as tall as me. Sometimes i see a lot of people in a store shorter than me but sometimes when i go downtown(Toronto the same city as this guy) a lot of people are taller than me like head and shoulders above. As of gr7 and 8 i was one of the tallest in my class about 70-80% of the guys my age were shorter than me, 90% of the guys a year younger were shorter than me but now it's about 50% including a year younger.

Alex Thats actually shocking cuz every men ends up being taller than their mom. I know a good percentage of ppl who don’t even reach their dads height but i’ve never seen anyone not end up being taller than their mom. Perhaps yours is a super rare case

5'10" is probably the best height because you get to live longer then people over 6 foot and still be average
6’4” is the perfect height, your perfect for sports and perfect to get just about 99% of females so no more rejections from tall girls. At 6’4” you can also eat a lot of food without getting fat etc. I’m 6’2” at 16 and hoping to be 6’4” at 18 or 19 which I think I can do.

You should say 5’9 average in America, it actually depends on your country.
For example here in Saudi Arabia if you’re 5’7 you have an average height.
Here in Turkey average males are 5’8

Here in India, newer data suggests average has grown to 5'8.5 among 19 yo. I am 5'7.5 and I am shorter than most of my friends, but never shorter than a girl.

True, I've been called tall at least 5 times last year and I'm 5'10 in a country where that is 1cm below average. It's all relative. When your overall body type is good and you're like average height, people don't really know how to describe your body and just end up saying you're tall. That's how I explain it.

I'm a 24 year old cancer survivor who's 5'5. I had cancer during my teenage years so the cancer and chemo slowed my bone growth and stunted it, the doctors says I would have probably been 5'10-6ft if not for my past sickness. So it sucks for me personally, I wish I was taller, I'm constantly mocked for my height😞. Anyways, you're not short at all, you're normal height and a good looking dude.

I'm 5'10 and my best friend is 5'6ish - he wears Timberland boots, they suite him... Most girls are under 5'4... When we go out people don't really differentiate, and most decent people don't care .. it's really not that important guys. You are a King no matter your height.
I'm a 5'4 Filipino American, and I just came back from living a year in Japan... I'm a lot closer to the average there compared to the US lol. The interesting thing is, is that height seems to be practically invisible from my experience living there. Where height is of great importance here in the US, is not so important as the connection you make.

A few years ago at 18 years old when I never took any notice of my height, I knew I was tall enough already as many people told me i'm tall. I used to say I was 5'11 when I was I was actually a little over 6 feet tall. At the time I didn't care and didn't know about the "Golden" 6ft tall requirement for guys. 5'11 sounded tall to me at the time. Fast forward a couple years later and I am now 6ft1 at 23. Lol. I was a late bloomer. I was 5'6 until 16 years old. Little height story.

Putting this out there for my shorter brothers, a boot with a moderate height increasing insole is an easy 3 extra inches that won't seem off or feel uncomfortable. You don't need it, but hey, sometimes you like to feel a little taller too right?

I'm 5'9 and from Denmark and the average height for men here is just under 6 feet. I often meet women that are either the same height or taller, still obviously not the majority and only one of my friends are shorter than me. I would say that I am short, I do however not feel particularly short especially when I'm visiting other countries.

@@JJBenavidez you stop growing by 16 if you hit your growth spurt at around 13. Some guys grow 1-2 inches between 17-18.

Indian men average height 5'8
I’m 5ft7.5 in morning but 5ft6.75 night but I do hate my height - as average roughly 5ft7- could even be 5ft6.5 if too much exercise or walking - I think I have a lower back disc problem which contributed to this from doing too many sit-ups when I was younger - was shortest in my years at school and never hardly had girlfriends - I do feel more confident now as I eat healthy abd take care of my appearance and wear insoles in my shoes which gives me an inch or two boost but still don’t have a partner but am 52 now so doesn’t bother me too much now anyway . For people who are inconfident about it though I’d recommend working on personality more ,doing weights/keeping fit(slimmer and more toned people look taller) ,eat well especially high protein to maintain height , propped hair style, nice and darker clothing with no strips , elevator shoes or insoles in shoes . Glocosamine supplements help to maintain morning height throughout the day also. If you have bad posture which could help to contribute to shorter stature then various stretching exercises and inversion tables help.

My mom is 4'9-10" while my dad is 5'1-1.5" and they once asked our pediatrician how tall I might be. Using a height estimate formula, I was likely going to end up 5'2" at best but I ended up adding at least 2 inches to that, which is still short (globally) but average from where I live (PH). Still kinda sucks though bec my male cousins around my age are like 5'8"-6'2"

Great analysis of this sir! People always assume I’m 6’1 when I’m actually 5’11 and some change in reality and when I claim I’m 5’11 everyone thinks I’m lying and say I’m way taller. I always measure in centimeters, better and more accurate. But people tell me I’m tall regardless, just goes to show how tall a legitimate 5’11 or 181cm guy really is, although in general height is very subjective in most places.

@@appelscha23 no I’ve always been quite a stocky build with a long torso and short legs. I used to be really fat and then between last year up to now I’ve lost 36lbs of and even gained some muscle as a result. But yeah now as I’ve slimmed down considerably I can look taller as a result, but even before people guessed my height as over 6 feet and still do now.

5"8 is not short but it is not tall at all it is just average... if you are between 5"7 and 5"9 you are as average as it comes pretty much everybody is about your height unless you are with a bunch of NCAA athletes then you screwed!
my health card in ontario reads 183cm (6'0). In reality my actual height is 179.5/180cm. so the ever so slightly taller than average 5'10 and a half or just round up to 5'11. I mostly never feel short but that all depends on area. even an above average person can feel short at times. 5'8 is the world average so I wouldn't say short.
People assume you are taller because of 2 factors. You look good and you are buff not skinny. I have noticed people think you are taller when you are broader.

Guys, height depends on where you live on earth, I am 183cm which is slightly tall where I am from. I visited Las Vegas during a massive basketball tournament, felt like Tyrion Lannister the whole time there. So the question of whether a person is tall or short depends for the most part on your immediate community/region. I personally think 174cm is average, not short. So Wes whatever you do bro, don't move to the Netherlands. 🤣😂🤣

I'd say it depends on statistics. People call others short very quickly, sometimes even those of average height but to be considered tall, you have to be an absolute giant.
E.g. the *measured* (not self-reported) average height of all adults in Germany is 5'9''/175 cm. An inch below that and people will probably call you short.
But some don't consider anyone tall up to 190-ish cm, so 6'3''. That just doesn't make sense.

Why? Then women can think you're too tall if they looking short man. Im strong 5'10 and claim 5'10 because 5'11 is too high and only in the morning I could say to be it.

Height varies, quite a lot actually - You can use any height you meassured it barefoot during anytime of the day.
However, if you wish to be a bit more exact try meassuring 2-3 hours later you wake up.. That will determine you’re ‘Real height’
I am 192CM during the morning barefoot, 191 during midday (true height) and around 189 by the time I go to bed.
Shorter people shrink around 2CM, people 6 feet and over around 3.

That is very true. Measured a few days ago late at night after being awake for 15 hours that day. Did it barefoot. It measured 6ft 1/2". But in the morning its 6ft 2" or more. It varies a lot.
I doubt your height varies that much, i think you measured wrong. I'm 191 out of bed and 189.5 at the end of the day.
I have seen a set of publicity photos of the main cast of the original Star Wars in regular clothing, taken at Pinewood Studio. I’m from the Netherlands (tallest country in the world) and I’m 175cm (5f9 I think) and almost every guy is way taller than me. So it also depends on where you live.
That's true, as a German I felt even with 185 cm shorter in the Netherlands compared to Germany.

@@abyysswalkerr Sorry late response but yeah when it comes down to dating, here it goes: around 40% is already taller than me, from the other 60% like 55% of that wants a guy to be atleast 185cm or taller. Long story short It’s quite difficult to find someone that is both shorter than me and not necessarily wanting a guy to be ridiculously tall.
It's more about proportion. You might look short even if you're 5'10" if your torso is long compared to you limbs. But he's right that many guys inflate their height. People had told me they were 5'9" while they clearly were shorter than I'm . But it's about proportion and not being overweight. Doesn't matter if you're 6'6". If you're overweight, you won't look as good as a fit 5'6" guy .

I grew like extremely fast from 11 to 13 years old. Then, I stopped all of a sudden. I was 5 foot 8 at 13 and still am. I hope I have a bit of growth left. I turned 16 recently. It's just sad cause I used to tower over everyone my age for some time but they're all catching up now

I’m 5’9 and a half barefoot, 5’10 and a half with shoes on. Never felt short but I have recently so I started wearing this gel insole in my shoes that gets me to 6ft. The small boost is nice and it gives me a little more confidence.

I'm 5'5 (166cm) I don't feel that short in public and I'm in ireland where average is 5'10. It depends on what group i'm in and most people think i'm 5'8 for some reason. Your height does change during the day. When you first get out of bed, you are at your tallest. You gradually shrink by three-fourths of an inch, on average, throughout the day. Mine varies a little, but I am around 5'11'' overall. Sometimes I measure over, sometimes under and sometimes right on the money. It depends on what time of the day I get measured.

I'm 1.87 m tall without shoes, very close to the 6'2 mark but I mostly claim 6'2 whenever someone asks me because i mostly wear shoes all of the time and they put me almost to 6'3 anyways 😅. Sometimes i feel like a giant, but sometimes i just feel like a dwarf, so it basically depends on the people around you.

@@CamBamLifts yeah, we should be the last bitching about our height though, as there are so many taller people that wish they didn't make it past our height, as past that this is when tall problems begin appearing (not fitting in small cars, not finding clothes and shoes in regular stores, not fitting in a regular economy class plane seat, hitting your head on door frames and so on). Meanwhile we can still enjoy normal life and be classified as tall by most people. Cheers. 😉
