When I saw that Keyblade in the final reveal trailer, I literally almost cried. The fact they ended the dlc list with someone who is known for uniting hearts across the realms, and seeing him shake hands with Mario "Mushroom-Eating, Goomba-Stomping, Princess-Saving" Mario, it felt COMPLETE! Sakurai is a legend, a madlad, and deserves that REST!
Legit the same energy as Ryu and Cyclops' handshake back in the day when X-Men vs. Street Fighter debuted before I was even a thing. Sakurai, you did what Iwata said and made the best Smash ever.

For it, it was Terry Bogard. Having grown with the KOF games (yes I'm latino in case you are wondering), that was such a huge memory lane in the best way possible. Terry later coming with pretty a huge SNK homage collectiong made it all better. Mega Man and Sephiroth were also spectacular. Pyra/Mythra was also quite cool.
Terry was the second most hype for me, after Shulk in Sm4sh. As a kid I grew up playing SNK's games in the arcades. So seeing Terry and everything he brought made me squee.
Sephiroth killing Galeem and then nearly killing Mario had my jaw on actual floor when the trailer came out. Absolutely mindboggling reveal, loved it ever since
For me I'm still blown away with Sora being in Smash, the fact that Sakurai was able to get Disney (who are really protective with their IP's) to let them use one of their characters in their games is absolutely insane in the best way. It just shows just how hard and he works and how much he cares about making the fans happy
Mega Man. I was in middle school, so geeked that that trailer alone had my hyped until the game's official release. The music, the stage, the trailer, the MEGAMAN... Everything was perfect. All for me to main Pac-Man and barely touch anyone else.😅
