Let's not forget Chad here. The best part of this video is whatever he says to Anthony when he mimes 'you bang on drums like this' at the end of this video. Could they be so free, or make such great music, if they weren't such genuine friends?
I ❤️you. I can't wait to see you!! I just purchased my tickets for Aug 12th, in Nashville
@@nathaliehery4004 I'm bringing my 18 yr old daughter.
@Cynthia Bryant what? My last name was Wallis for 2 years in the 80's. But, I took my maiden name back after a divorce.
After what they did to Josh Klinghoffer RHCP can go to hell.
Flea really played the hell out of that John solo.
Exactly. The lead guitar was just getting in the way of the bass.
Duet
@@bradstephan7886the lead guitar is the best part!
It's funny how in most of their songs John looks at Flea for a hint of what comes next. I can't imagine the band without them. They're 2 iconic artists.
good explanation less is more like anything in life
@@hiseverest9074 so what are you saying?
They bounce of eachother and know one another reactions and facial expressions so we'll that they can judge where their jams should progress to.
If you watch the 60 Minutes interview that was released last week with the whole band, John mentions that he always sees the bass as the lead instrument when they are jamming and the guitar comes in only to support.
John, without your guitar this world would be much worse ...
I'm almost 50 yo and the sound of your guitar has been squeezing my throat for the last 30 years. Keep playing bro!
You're 50 years old I think not You sound like you're about 32
@@TheGravygun Explain, I don't understand your comment.
@@TheGravygun you've highlighted your own age more than anyone else's
@@jimileewatt3062 Boy you must be pretty sharp
Jonh Frusciante is one of the best guitarists of the 80s and 90s, but not for his solos, but for his ability to build great riffs, to mute strings, and for his extraordinary sense of rhythm
You forgot to mention the best guitarist of all time
fun fact: in the 00s records By The Way and Stadium Arcadium were released as well as EIGHT SOLO ALBUMS you may want to take a look at
True, but also his visceral feel
Id have to say its bigger than that. He's a rare example of a "very close to complete" guitar player, by which i mean he has learned the name of his instrument. Its true name, giving him a hardwired connection to it that allows him to connect with the music and the musicians around him absolutley with no 'thought' getting in the way. A pure signal path unhindered by any of the crap that normal musicians deal with on their way to where he is...... Or something
Agreed. But it is live moments like this, that he can make in every performance that sets him apart imo.
We will get more of these moments in 2022 :) hopefully
My god anthony is incredible on this track
Indeed. Yes, John and Flea were fine here, but AK brought the whole jam together, no doubt about it
His brightest moments have always been those when he keeps his mouth shut.
😂😂😂😂
Aww poor Anthony hahaha
I was at this concert, this was at Pinkpop festival in 2006 in The Netherlands. There was a sense of magic in the air on that remarkable and sunny day... The vibe was so good and uplifting! The croud was in high spirits and the Peppers... They were just crazy good during the entire concert. I rarely saw them perform this good, they were out of this world. This particular part always makes me tear up a little. So much emotion and connection between John and Flea. The whole concert is well worth watching, this part is the prelude to Californication. I can't believe this is already 16 years ago... I can still hum every note of this concert to this day. It made a huge and everlasting impression on me.
That sounds magic. Wish I´d been there.
don't forget Flea!!! He is amazing here too
Flea is always amazing.
@@Roamnroll always!
he is the one reason I picked up the guitar
same here
Same 😭😭
Me 4
I listened to his Chozrow Jam and immediately went and bought one after, it changed my life lmao, i was never too into imstruments until i heard that magic
@@astrally111 i’m pretty sure that’s the exact performance that made me really really want to learn how to play like that someday and i’ve been playing for a couple months now and i’m loving every second of it i’m so glad i started playinh
nobody's gonna talk about flea's bass strumming at the beginning
Flea is magical bass player
Yes!
That's the thing, as good as John is, Flea is better on bass than John is on guitar.
Ces quelques minutes : pure extase. On voudrait se couler dedans et s'y régénérer
Flea one of the bass gods fr
Thanks John for all the great times!!!
@@glaubenix1179 it’s said that John gave him heroin that he ended up overdosing on

John didn't tell him to shoot up all at once! R.I.P River 🕊️
So John did NOT kill nobody!!!
@@glaubenix1179 Idk. I heard this glass thing...both versions. That John didn't know about it, and that he had put the stuff in it. But I don't understand why an intravenous user would waste the stuff and drink it? (Heroin is not soluble in plain liquids anyway.) Only the two of them know what happened. maybe a third person?! Peace
(Check it out the 'Rock n' roll true stories' or 'loudwire' channels)
Edit: I'm sure at the same time. They were friends✌🏻
Got to be 50/50 on that one with flea!
The magic they both share is immense!! ❤️❤️
70/30 Flea
1:52 those octaves by flea were a masterminded idea
It's such a stunningly cozy solo that you can live in it.
You m'fers make me laugh at some of the sh*t you write. 🤦♂️
@@Allison_Chaynes Hello little star, sorry I didn't notice your comment, what's new?
That's 3 minutes I'll never get back
Just as much of a Flea solo as a John solo.
Poor Flea always gets overlooked.
Clicked for the title stayed for flea to be honest
@@ineedcoffee2575 yeah man. John was good, but Flea was magnificent!
one might go so far as to call it a duet
@@JustBHappy he doesn't at all. Flea is one of the best in his profession and anyone that matters when it comes to opinions knows as much.
his soul spilled out and we caught it
At what point do we stop calling this a “solo” and call it what it is? Two geniuses. This shit gave me the chills.
your nervous system is compromised
Go listen to stevie ray vaughn voodoo
Child live, then come back and tell me if you still think this is a great guitar solo
They can both be great.
@@tyronius12 not necessary to compare this to SRV. 2 different players. 2 different styles. both awesome and impressive. you need better taste little more perspective in music.
Yawn
John i really like your way of playing. I stay in the clouds.
Love John so much man
Yes! A well-constructed solo! And the duo with the bass is marvelous.🙂👍🏼🤙🏽
Frusciante and Flea are the perfect combo
nah, that belongs to vai and sheehan im afraid!!!
At the end Chads dialogue : Dude, you actually have to hit the drums if you want to play them. *motions with sticks* ah watever
YEAH!! Great. was present at Pinkpop. Was happy to see RHCP live again, with John!! Rock on!
I will never tire of John & Flea solos.
I might be nuts but I could hear a Fleetwood Mac undercurrent in John’s playing there. He’s a ‘play a feeling’ artist for sure. Loved this.
reminds me so much of Concentric Motion by Buckethead
Yup, it was there.
Its good to see you where you belong John, after being through so much in life, it warms my heart to see the love you still have for the 6 string, take a bow, bravo
This is why the Chili Peppets are RED HOT!!!!! It's sooo cool to see a bad that plays so well with eachother, Flea and John seem to complement eachother's style. Can't wait to see them in Denver.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR SEPTEMBER AT CAMPING WORLD STADIUM IN ORLANDO FLORIDA!!!!!
Its in the camping world stadium bro not amway
Dude is literally why I make music.
It always makes me want to cry when I see them two jamming together.
That's John's passion. Hearing in all seconds of concert. RHCP are one of the best bands in the world. Love and respect for wonderful music all the long time. Love forever. 🙏👌❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow. I just seen a video of a 2023 Inglewood CA. concert with John rocking the same guitar. RHCP forever!
John has me bustin strings on my air guitar....so glad he is back!!!
RHCP are more than a band. They have the ability to take us residency in your mind.
Magic really happens when John and Flea are together.
I think I just witnessed a guitar and a bass making LOVE and I loved every second♥️♥️♥️♥️
I remember seeing them at Hyde Park. It was the one they did on cd . Amazing day and night.
They play on the same plane. Amazing to watch and hear.
Amazing.. Glad. John is back with the band
Just watch his face and you can tell he is lost in the music, simply amazing.
I can play the first six notes of californication
Noob o can play the forst 8
I love John but this video should have been called "Three minutes of Flea being fantastically awesome"
Wow what a great drum solo comming from the greatest drummer of RHCP Anthony Kiedis
Saw them in concert ,Fukin love ‘em! 💕
AMAZING !!! PRODUCTION.... :-) THNX RICK ... POWER GROOVES....LOVE IT..
Oh my, this is just fantastic.
His tone is just so pure!
These r the Truest Moments of RHCPs
John plays live with so much emotion, more than anyone else I have ever seen. Anthony on drums, LOL, Chad must have had to pee really bad!
Very good. When someone plays emotional numbers, it's worth the price of the show. Thanks for this
Oh my fkn gosh. Its like hes creating the vibe and wave n riding n experiencing at the same time
There is no wonder why so many guitarists aspire to play like John Frusciante! 🎸
Great jam! Loved it! Good players
My boys❤️
it's always nice to hear great guitar playing
This would be the highlight of any show ✌🏼❤️
I love these two
307 freaking comments. Yall that's so sweet! I know them to be grateful.
Flea is one of the bassists in the world that is phenomenal. Totally carried the dueling between he and John.
that is the coolest fuckin bass solo ive heard
That’s not a solo, but a duo.
And a good one ! 😺
Awesome
So emotional.
Clearly a genius and not just on the guitar!! 🖤⭐🖤⭐🖤
That sounded like on of those shreds videos.
Great guitarist and great band 👍👍👍🤟🤟🤟♥️♥️♥️💥💥💥💥💫💫💫🌟🌟🌟
I'd love a Peppers instrumental record.
Awesome! Flea Killing it!
Типичное соло Джона Фрушанте) эмоционально, душевно, прекрасно...
This is the best kind of chilli Peppers ever. 👌🏼
Man that was true art that you can feel.
Incredible 💚 all my life this band has been there for me man, I'd love to be able to give something back 🌍
What I see and hear in this video : a calm guitar player accompanies an amazing bass solo.
That signature tone
Simply genius ALL 3 of them
That's not Chad on drums, so 2 genius...😉
Naw this is beautiful. Love a great jam.
Off the damn CHAIN 🔥🔥♥️
all of John guitar solo was the best thing in my life
Pinkpop festival. Legendary show. Notice how Anthony messes up the timing with his drumming and John hits his distortion pedal to cover it up lol.
Frusciante's solos are spiritual awakening
When your mind, soul, and guitar becomes one
Excellent instrumental. True. Maybe I missed the solo: bassist, guitarist and drummer. 😉
So chilled 😌
Pretty amazing
They gave Anthony the disconnected joystick so that he'd feel part of the game😂
Pinkpop 2006! I was there :)
This is unbelievable
Fucking OUTSTANDING!!!!
Wow! What a sweet moment in time. Maybe we shouldn't talk about it - it might flutter away .. just grateful that I saw it ...
Magic
Shit, beautiful..... no words can bring this feeling.... no offense Anthony.... props for letting this moment be etched in soul
Chad smiths dialogue at the end: “I should just *motions drum thrash* and mess up their whole vibe, haha”.
Slane and Hyde Park is the best Californication jam... At least for me!
They need to make a song out of this!
VERY GOOD!!!!😘😘😘😘
*Butterfly guitar melody from crazy town is made by him*
I learned the intro Jam of Californication on slane castle.. and this one has the same base notes. Pretty amazing.
Bc this is the intro to Californication lol they are just doing a jam.
