A suggestion: on that outdoor shower, put some kind of valve to turn the whole system out there off... so that the little on/off control for the shower doesn't get hit by something you've stored in the outdoor box and get accidentally turned on and flood your storage box. Only turn that whole system on when you need it. Or some other type of control that can't get hit by something stored in the box...
That is a great idea John! Eventually Riley is planning to make everything "smart" and we will be making it so that the water pump is not on when we are driving or not in the camper. That way if we do spring a leak or a valve is bumped it won't be catastrophic.
We used Pex-Al-Pex for my brothers' Outdoor Wood Furnace & heated shop floor. Love the reusable fittings for Pex-Al-Pex. Now I really want the outdoor shower option.
The first bump in the road and the showerhead will fall off the holder, so just unhook it and lay it on the floor. Put a few circles of foam around the hose to stop it from rubbing on the wall. That water fill hose is food grade, it does not leach chemicals into the water, unlike normal hose. It's looking really good.
This build is just outstanding and you guys are super on task but still having fun with it while offering a lot of insight for viewers that might want to take on a project like this. Good stuff!
Guys, I sure hope your flooring for walls holds up in the bath, 45 years in the woodworking business and I've never found wood and water, much less hot water, ever made a good combination, even marine plywood, meant for water, has to be gel coated/waterproofed in some way. Maybe some sort of waterproof Polyurethan, Good Luck.
Should have small plastic drip tray under shower head for outtside, if it drips or leaks will saturate carpet which then keeps wood wet, rots it if you don't notice. Love your build, Cheers from Canada
Thanks for watching from Canada! The water pump will only be on when we are using the camper, and is slightly audible so we will know if we have a leak. You must depress and hold the switch on the sprayer head once the mixer valve is turned on, so it would be quite the orchestration of events to make it go off unattended. Also we used marine grade uv coated plywood so it should hold up fine to an occasional "whoopsie".
I’m going to add a Pressure tank like that to my Living Quarter Race Trailer! I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before! Your channel is awesome and I’ve been going back through and watching older episodes! Keep up the great work Riley & Courtney!
Great build! I have given a lot of thought to making skins and what you have done is top of the line. What I would have done different than you might be to help conserve water is to add a pump, water filter, UV light filter, a 2 to 3 gal. tank and vales to recirculates the water you use to shower with. nothing better than to be able to take a long shower! Just one idea for you to think about. I saw this in a van build and just thought it was great.
Hi Alan! We considered a recirculating system but decided ultimately we didn’t want the complication/bulk of it. Our last camper had 15 gallons of freshwater and this one is going to have 42 gallons so we should have plenty for how we use it. But we could always add a system down the road if we decide we need it!
@@albeenamelast6620 I didn’t want to sacrifice the floor plan and wall space required for that! It’s also very nice having a single fuel source for all water/air heating!

Awesome job as usual! just a suggestion for the carpet. the good 3m 90 adhesive will bond that carpet nicely but it will still remove fairly easy. we used it on a plywood ceiling/ headliner in a camper van build and a year later when we added roof AC i had to take out part of the ceiling which required peeling back the carpet headliner and while it was bonded well it did peel back nicely and we were able to reglue it with the 3m 90. just a suggestion if the staples don't work out.
Absolutely amazing craftmanship! I just found your build videos a few hours ago and I have binge watched them up to this current one. Can't wait to see the first trip!
Good call with the outdoor shower placement. It's always good to avoid an additional penetration...on a camper at least. Just be careful because my outdoor shower dribbles like crazy when in use, and that would be bad in your bike box.
The faucet used is a bidet, so we are hoping that it does not leak or dribble. (To my knowledge bidet wands are just mounted on the wall in a bathroom?)

I love to watch your videos and adventures. I just have a question, I hope is not to personal, how do you all make a living? are you both tele-working? is that is how you can do this or RUclips commercial is enough?
Thanks so much for watching! We currently live in a shipping container (when we are home) and rent out the main house on Airbnb. The income from the vacation rental is enough to travel frugally!
Not expecting this answered here but are you guys planning on releasing more details at some point? Especially on the outer structure build. Ex: did the rivets go through all layers, how did you connect the side panels, are the internal brackets a complete structure or just at specific places.
Yes! Once we hit the road we are planning to put together a much more comprehensive build plan on our website with resources for sourcing everything!
What brand/model are your windows? Really great build so far, super enjoying the fab going into this project.
Thanks for watching Bryce! The windows are from Tern Overland.
just subscribed your channel. Hello from Indonesia
Thank you for subscribing!
Looking forward to seeing how you tie the water heater into the coolant system. Did you say the water heater electrical option is plugged into your inverter?
Me too! 😂 It is one of the bigger projects left on our list. And yes it is tied into the inverter and will also be on a switch.
@@AmbitionStrikes we’ve got that same shower head hose and head holder in our van. Theres so much other racket(plates, pots, etc) i really dont hear the hose flopping around but the head flys out of the holder ALL THE TIME.
@@chrissd08 Sounds like I have different issue to prioritize! 🙈
@@AmbitionStrikes you guys rock, keep the momentum going. Every project needs tweaks when it’s ‘done’. The videos are looking awesome too!
Your truck camper is already amazing and is not finished yet!
What model of water heater do you use ?
Thank you very much! We will go more into depth on the heater in a future episode but you can find it and the rest of the plumbing supplies here:

Are your bikes going to fit in the garage with the sink (I believe it is the sink) hanging down so far?
Yes they both fit and are in there right now!
