Fightin' Herds is one of those games I feel, is solid and hard to master but hides that behind hilarious animations xD
The fucking balancing with the dlc is ass, take this from an og tfh player, previous top 2 paprika player in the world, 1st for one patch

I bet Mattel feel dumb now xD. Fightin' Herds was meant to be MLP but Mattel said no so instead MLP's remaster herself agreed to help out and the result is priceless xD
Whole legal issue was involved but Hasbro and Mattel don't really deserve any goodwill, so I'm glad they don't have anything to do with this game
@@ksad96 ahh you're right, MLP is Hasbro... should've remembered the Transformers crossover in comics. Fightin' Herds started as an MLP game but Hasbro thank you for helping correct me, Hasbro said to get lost. Sweetest part is that Lauren who gave the recent MLP its newfound fame, took the side of the devs and teamed with them to make the game as it uses her art style. Still feel Hasbro suits are thinking; we should totally have licensed it, since Fightin' Herds is doing rather well whilst Transformers is still struggling as we wait for their awesome-looking new game and Xbox owners already are trying to convince Phil to poke Activision to bring back the Cybertron series as tbf those were bangers
Honestly, the C&D was the best thing to happen to this game.
It's cool to be able to have the Mane 6 slug it out, but there were two major things holding it back.
The slightly less major one is that the ponies were all ultimately the same body type. This doesn't sound like much, but it works wonders for making characters visually distinctive and easy to tell what their deal is gameplay-wise via their animations, in addition to allowing for much clearer moves. Clarity is pretty important when picking or fighting a character, it's one of the reasons grapplers are usually big, slow bois who do big damage off few hits.
The real big hurdle for Fighting is Magic was that it was made in Fighter Maker 2000, which is notoriously inflexible and limiting. The Z-engine, meanwhile, actually allows things like more fleshed out mechanics and movesets, better physics, and actual controller support instead of only reading the analog stick (which sucks for fighting games) unless you jump through external hoops if your pad or stick lacks a proper movement input switch.
@@SubrosianDimitri exactly plus the devs made something that looks technically solid but has the sense of humor to keep us playing as I do love watching TFH tournaments like this one. I get to enjoy the awesome skills and laugh at the animations so win/ win. Hats off to the devs who put this together

BlackAtlas is really talented and determined, memorizing those combos with impeccable muscle memory with Tianhuo requires lots of dedication and work, but LatinoFlava's creativity and at times unpredictable plays with Paprika's arsenal of possibilities for comebacks were unstoppable! What an amazing game to witness!!

In a nutshell, a group of fighting game junkies called Mane 6 made a fan game of My Little Pony, 2d fighter style. The game was near release, but Hasbro threatened Mane 6 with a lawsuit since they didn't have their permission to use the MLP universe for their game. The devs stopped production of the MLP game as instructed to by Hasbro, but went on to re skin the MLP fighting game and further develop it into Them's Fightin' Herds. Mane 6 had a ton of fan support, and TFH was made a reality with the help of the original creator of the 4th Generation My Little Pony series - the same series that Mane 6's MLP game was based on. At this present time, Mane 6 evidentally experienced some kind of internal issue that resulted in the abandonment of further developing future content for TFH. Features of the game such as the story mode (which was effing great), will be left unfinished due to this.

This is an unnecessarily mean comment. Dude finished a match with a broccoli read in bracket, he did great overall for playing a low tier like Paprika
@@cartib6677I wouldn't call Paprika a low tier. Pretty much every character is viable.
At least before the new patch with the 2 new broken characters...
I'd also argue that the 2nd Papria played worse. Especially from an attacking pov. He didn't do as good combos and consistently wasted magic at the end of them quite a lot.
