Super informative. I knew about the cold hosing but but didn't know there were specific areas that help them cool down faster. Definitely will keep that in mind, even though I've been riding inside most the summer because it's been stupidly hot here, but at least we don't have much humidity bc 30 degrees is brutal enough without humidity (even though dry heat sucks too, it feels like a damn desert sometimes)

I have an older horse who doesn’t exercise as much. But he really appreaciates a hosing down.
Rolling after getting wet really helps him cool down and also keep him protected from flies.

Yess I love this video and the formula for when it’s to hot to work your horse is genius. I will definitely have to try it this summer. I had a question semi relating to this video, I have really hard keepers but I have been hearing that during the summer you should cut alfalfa out of your horses diet. Is this true and if so what other forage or hay can I use to keep weight on or since my horses are kept out in pasture just add a high fat supplement in there feed?

I also only ride my horse in the late afternoon in summer (In Australia) so about 6 or 7pm i ride and it’s a lot cooler then

Usually on hot days at my barn, we open all the doors and don’t ride on the really hot days and ride when it’s cooler or in the evening.

Gladly it's not that hot in summer here in Finland. It's usually about 70-85F if it's not windy, but there is almost always at least a little breeze and it helps alot :D

First of all Hi! I hope I didn't sound hateful or like I was making fun of your voice, I just thought I would put it out there as I find your videos (even though I love the content and you) hard to watch. It might make your videos a bit more exciting. I only meant for my comment to be constructive criticism.

Nope, I am not. There is a British pronunciation and an American one. Thanks for the concern, though. Even if I were, I really don't think it takes away from the info in the video whatsoever.
