  • Surprising Insights on Safety & Quality Revealed by Top Camper Van Converter - Bespoke Campervans
You learn something everyday and in the world of campervan conversions, there are many things done differently from one converter to another.
The industry is not regulated as such and therefore the conversion from one company can vary drastically to another.
There are regulations surrounding certain aspects such as gas, electrics etc which can often be overlooked by some, however if you have an NCC Approved campervan / motorhome / motor caravan, these regulations must be strictly followed, ensuring the highest levels of safety for you and your family or any others that travel or sleep within.
In a future video, i will share even more information on this.
I also discuss the VW Transporter T6.1, the end is near, but it isn't yet. The order book is closed for new orders (at the moment, apart from California's) When i say at the moment, is there something else to be announced before the end?
The VW T6.1 California will soon be replaced (not yet announced) by the Ford Volkswagen partnership vehicle. There wont be too many more T6.1 Campervans produced.
Is the new Transporter the same as the Ford Transit Custom for 2024?
Is the future the ID Buzz? Is the future electric?

I’m looking for a new van and have a small family. Safety is my priority so I’m probably going to go with a cali. After hearing about the conversions on vans I would rather be safe than sorry

Good choice. Hold their value extremely well too. You can go wrong with the Cali or an NCC Approved converter. Remember with a Cali that the sliding door is on the drivers side, so consideration needs to be taken when parking against the pavement for children getting out, as you would normally park with the traffic flow meaning the door would lead to the road

@@pauldavies7251 The problem is, who is reputable? You probably know who is and who isn’t. Yet you look at the forums and people talk about how good Company A is and Company B, however these companies are cutting costs, carrying out poor installations, not carrying out the required strengthening, falsely claiming fully tested when they are not, gas installation not done properly, not correctly load rates wheels and tyres etc etc.
But people will still recommend them. The industry needs regulation.
Sorry I think predictive text has changed the conversion company you mentioned

how do you know the levels in the water tank and the power left in your leisure battery is there a control panel that's hidden away..
as you used this camper for a few days is there a spotlight for reading if you sleep on the drop-down bed. also can you turn the spotlights on and off separately in the living area ..did you get wind noise from the roof or the roof flapping with headwinds when driving as i noticed unusually they don't use the rubber weather strip above the window screen..

Good question regarding water, i'm not sure. Will find out. The electrics are Victron components, so will have bluetooth. A display with levels for all aspects gas, water and power was being implemented at some point this year in the new ones. There is a spotlight at the rear with a USB port, although i would add one on the other side also.
The lights are separated front and rear and i believe these can be changed for touch controlled ones.
The wind noise often associated with these roofs is when people don't shut them properly. I travelled over 600 miles and when closed properly it was no problem. Personally, i would add one aftermarket anyway

      @@StaycationLifestyle thanks for the info
i would change to lithium so i would presume you can just swap them without changing anything as it has victron components..
i would get the 110bhp highline spec as the 150 DSG highline model on this camper is 9k more thats a lot of money for an auto and 40bhp extra..taymar have one listed for £66495

@@vanagon1966 Likewise, Lithium is definitely the way forward. It’s actually a factory option, so the components are all ready for it. It’s the base van price that creates the cost difference. That one has a few additional options on it, although I think it may be sold. I know there is only one left at the moment. Additional stock coming soon (not sure when)

@@StaycationLifestyle yes that is one thing i like about these campers that the extra costs are only vw spec options and one size fits all on the conversions..
i am going to buy one thanks to your videos and info about them..
      they have grown on me

I do apologise, however personally I think the facts are very interesting. Who knew a panel van needs upgrading to pass crash tests.
Don’t worry, that was a one off anyway. I do however have something different coming soon and I would genuinely would be interested to hear back from you when that launches, if you find it more interesting
