I'm so glad you made this video. i have seen so many vans during my search that dont even have Air con!!! i mean you can clearly see they have just bought the cheapest van possible just to make as much cash as possible.
Your right and some will still try and pass it off as high spec 😳 (I actually saw exactly that last year, I held back from contacting them) The new 6.1’s all have air con at least, although it’s climate control on the Highline.
I’ve just got a nice nearly new VW T 6 without the trimmings..just a nice bed I’ve installed and luggage storage underneath. Prefer to cook ,wash and make tea outside ..great vehicle with 150bhp and DSG automatic gears..fully insulated too..thanks
I am not saying don't buy a lower spec base van or conversion, everyone has different budgets and choices. I am highlighting vans are being described as "High Spec" "Top of the Range" and they are not at all. Beware.
Fantastic series of well researched and informative videos. A video on the pop top varieties and pro's and cons would be great to see as I evaluate options for a near-horizon purchase of a new van
I've been looking around for a while now and I'm fed up of seeing carpeted walls and hospital cupboard style storage units with sinks and stoves for around 60k+ on low milage T6's... I think the best one I've seen is the 4 seater calif beach with the fold down table. I don't like the low profile wheels either and would prefer all season tyres with higher walls as I'll be using it all year round + terrible potholes on our roads. I'm a bit upset on how expensive they are, I think I have VW transporter shopping fatigue now ha! I love the look of those swampers over skinny wheels and skirts though.
Does pay for good spec I put a rib bed in t6 this time 5 seats on v5c no problems .It is a startline but a lot of higher spec items which you can buy if you get at the right price.
RIB beds are definitely worth the money. Nothing wrong with Startline’s, just annoys me when they are sold as “Best Spec” When it isn’t. Not everyone wants the additional features with a Highline anyway
Maybe its my age but I dont get why people want to spend thousands on cosmetics - spoilers splitters fancy alloys & the like. Surely it's much more important to spend the money on practical things for the camper useage. Nice to sit in a sporty looking van while your trying to fix the heater, gas system, electrics etc.
😀 A lot of other don’t like it either. I saw a post on a forum last year when someone else said similar. I was surprised how many people prefer a cosmetically normal van. I agree, money is better spent on the internals for practical purposes.
its all about being part of the club and things to look nice. Unfortunally theres way too much greyness in the vans these days. Christian would be happy. But for me the van needs AC it needs cruise control it needs the right kit to start with.
I agree. Complete control over all aspects and it isn’t difficult. And those that need help, it’s there in abundance due to the forums and Facebook groups
😄 That’s in my catalogue of “to make” videos. It’s a very subjective topic. Converters all have different opinions. Speak to one converter and they will say they fit Brand A and not Brand B because they have problems, yet speak to another converter and they will tell you the opposite.
This causes debate with differing opinions. The “best” is a LiFePO4. They last longer, maintenance free, better charge efficiency, lighter and are extremely safe. They can utilise more of their power, nearly to zero, rather than an AGM that can only use 50% of its power. However they are expensive (although prices are coming down) and this is many peoples argument against them. Another negative will be that they don’t like the cold, however a lot of the newer batteries actually have a heater in them.
Click bait? The title delivers exactly what is stated. The video warns people from buying vans worth far less than they are being sold for, being falsely advertised as high spec and top of the range. Therefore it’s not click bait, it’s a good headline

I prefer to cook outside also. Less fumes, grease and condensation in the van. The 150DSG is lovely 👍
Hmm I think I'm after a similar thing with no sink/hob. DSG also appeals now I've been driving auto since 2019.

This is something I started to write a while ago. I will finish and release in the next month 👍
And thank you 😃

To be fair startline with a business pack is not to be sniffed at. But I do get what you mean loads of companies out there stealing a living
Yes that is common at the moment and it is pretty good. It’s when it’s advertised as “Top of the Range” that frustrates me.
I know the "Sportline" is a current VW Transporter spec, however, orders cannot be placed on these, so I didn't mention it

@@sparkmeister4706 Absolutely and a heated windscreen. The base van must be right first

Can you please please do a video on different pop tops? I want one and unsure which one is the best!?

In your opinion what is the best choice of a leisure battery?

RUclips/google: deleted of course
