Yo Liam! Thanks for yet another wonderful video. Apart from the practical advice about your choice of kit (thanks for sharing so frankly), your admirable attitude shines through again. No fancy luxury items; no need to exchange simple gear that works for you; no emphasis on consumerism; no sponsored items or pushing a particular brand; living simply with a lifestyle that is eco-friendly and loves the earth! You are an excellent example and an inspirational role model. You are authentic and sincere - lots to love about you. Keep going! Best wishes from Cape Town!

@liam brown I’m planning on backpacking for the first time this year. From Angus in Scotland, I plan to walk the entire uk coast line with my dog.
At 22miles per day should reach lands end within a month and will take best part of 3 months to walk the entirety.
If I start in May I’m hoping to finish in early august.
This gear list video will be very useful to me. I am going to pack as light as possible to save my back, I’m prepared for periods of exhaustion or starvation as I’ll be on a tight budget.
Thanks for the vids, wish u luck in your adventures this year.

I've never gone Hiking or wild camping, but this June I'm walking from Wimborne Dorset UK to scotland! Going to cairngorms nation park, and some Harry potter filing locations like loch eilt. Gonna take me roughly 30 days, wild camping every night apart from the odd night in a travelodge or holiday inn. Gonna be a crazy journey, doing it for my own mental health and as a personal challenge/adventure. Gonna be recording the whole thing too, so I'll be uploading shorts daily and in July time I'll be uploading a video of the whole thing!

First of all a massive well down on how your channel has grown! I’ve been watching since 2K so it’s very cold to see🙌🏼
I love all the videos, one things I highly recommend is getting a body bar and shampoo bar from Lush!
They are not only environmentally friendly but when I went travelling over Asia for 3 months i didn’t even use one whole bar which I used everyday, they are so light weight and are great if you keep them in a water tight zip up bag (food bag) are usually between £5-7 a bar but will last you months!

I'd love a video about the legal aspects of tent camping while walking around the UK. I'm from NZ and planning an open ended walking trip in UK (and mainland Europe). I want to bring my tent and be as self-sufficient as possible but I'm not clear on how it all works. I think it is different to here in NZ (it's very hard to 'freedom camp' here these days).

Phew... finally someone who tells "from real life" what he packed and who wasn't forced by (secret) sponsors to advertise some trendy equipment that he personally thinks much less of than the sponsor wants to hear ... 😉
I like your attitude that you should use everything until the end - a lot more people should act that way.
So you still have this "ancient" drone... it's a miracle that it still flies... 🤣 There are already several newer versions! 😯
I personally bought some pieces of equipment carefully and often at a fairly high price.
But I've been using these things for decades now and I love the patina they've acquired and the details that more modern versions no longer have.
Only when modern equipment is really "one step further" I am willing to exchange my things, or when the general conditions for use have changed, or when they are really getting old.

I originally tried hiking with 2kg mountain warehouse 4 season sleep bag and shit 25 quid ruck sack, Some cheap gear is ok, really recommend the £25 FE sleep bag amazon, 680g is quite good roomy light weight sleep bag, is sometimes £10 tent in some big Poundland, single skin, tesco have ok 2 skin reasonable tent for £25, probably 2kg, maybe do cheapest option kit test. its maybe poundland tarp and mountain warehouse bivvy, I dunno. Charity shop ruck sack, I got Lowe Alpine Choclatase for £10.

Carefull with that Dyneema tent though, its good as long you dont hike Above the Artic Circle. I got stuck once with that type of tent in the Norwegian Summer in Fall, and I actually had to evacuate from it to a cabin. That Tent once the Wind gets under it, it can become a sail (wich is a material wich originally is designed for) and the problem with that tent is too when Mist comes along in storms.

I’ve got a z-pack triplex and it’s too small for anyone over 6’2” (that includes me!). It’s not a great tent for me so I’ll be selling it soon. I also didn't like the Z-Packs in wind - the doors flap really badly as they don't have zips. If your feet (or head) touch the ends, which can easily happen on uneven ground, then be prepared to get wet as the bathtub groundsheet will likely push outside the cover of the tent skin.

Hi Liam, can you tell us what you do for washing up pots? The last time I just started boiling loch water until it was warm and swilled it with my hand to clean off the porridge. Then dumped the contents, filled it back up with loch water and put on a rolling boil. Is there an easier way?
