i’ve been a corrin main since day 1 and it was a blessing to see cosmos even pull corrin out and reverse 3-0 dabuz a while back because she was so rare to see, amazing to see mkleo playing and winning with her now
Corrin actually did have some competitive history before Leo used here. Notably: .Ly in Japan got some alright results .Shadic beat Cosmos at Collison earlier in March .Cosmos reversed 3-0d Dabuz with the Char In a game like Ult, there being like 50 High tiers shouldn't be that controversal or unexpected tbh
The meta of Ultimate has beautifully evolved into just choosing whichever character makes you happy. It’s not about top tiers anymore, it’s just about playing what character is fun to you, and I really like that :)

@Gustavo Vasconcelos correction, His 1st was Corrin before anything else. Then it was Byleth on release day. So it's a timing difference. Byleth was not in the previous smash bros games, therefore there was no opportunity to like him 1st. But yes, he likes Byleth slighy more.

I knew Leo was light years far away from done. He brought a new character almost no body uses, not even a high tier, and he destroyed everyone. This man is the greatest Ultimate player of all time.
Leo raised Ultimate's level once again by covering his bad matchups with another character. I believe Ultimate is meant to be played with more than one character and counterpicking to cover the bad matchups.

I hope Ultimate can last a long time so we keep seeing the skill level pushed like in Melee Nintendo making a new Smash too early will make Ultimate feel like a waste since 90% or more will probably move to the newest game and we will not see all the intricacies of this one.
Leo is just an amazing player. He remains calm his game is intelligent and constantly learning throughout the match. SpArgo is no joke either well played

So he switches his character to confuse people on the matchup. Corrin and Byleth are not really exceptional characters, they are not the best characters by a long shot, but people don't know the matchup.
Guys - Let's not forget to give some love to our Mexican commentators. English is their second language, but they did their best to keep speaking it and with such energy and enthusiasm. I'm happy for a sport that many of us from different parts of the world can enjoy and wish these commentators the best. There is something *different* about how they move. I realize the combos, parries, and all that are what many people might think most impressive. But I can't get over the incredible movement... it's like they aren't hesitating at all, they have all the options clear at any time. This was something I noticed with Leo's Byleth, originally, but it's clear they both have it mastered now.
I liked the commentary a lot for what it’s worth. A lot of energy. Sure there were a few mishaps, probably cause English is y’all second language, but it was fun and full of energy! Keep it up!

Im lucky to live in mazatlan, i was heading home with a friend and there is this famous location called “olas altas” and they were walking there (chag,goblin,lizz and more and of course leo) so we didnt think about it two times and i just pulled over and ask him for some pictures, such a nice guy, he is a legend and from now on i will remember the day i met THE LEGEND!! , What a great tournament was delfino maza!!
These commentators are great, they aren’t the most professional and the commentary isn’t always up to par but there are a lot more chunks of gold than stainless steel commentary.

See, even though Sparg0 has been the best player this year so far, I’m not gonna say he’s #1 yet. Leo may have had a rough start (though 4th and 3rd are still great), he’s proven that he is still up there and nearly got the 24-0 this tournament.
I’ll wait until the end of this year to make my final judgements, but for now it’s Leo
Spargo has not been the best player this year so far, like spargo won 2 tournaments in a row and that's it. Amazing results, but Leo's definitely still got the edge on him this year.

There is something *different* about how they move. I realize the combos, parries, and all that are what many people might think most impressive. But I can't get over the incredible movement... it's like they aren't hesitating at all, they have all the options clear at any time. This was something I noticed with Leo's Byleth, originally, but it's clear they both have it mastered now.

Now this is what I have been waiting for as a Corrin main. I’m glad more people are recognizing her now after all this time. Any character can win majors in Ultimate, even mid tiers can win them. Corrin is great character no doubt about it but if people rly claim that she’s bad cuz ‘she sucks’ without ever playing the characters. Then don’t talk shit in comments when you don’t know shit. Im lucky to live in mazatlan, i was heading home with a friend and there is this famous location called “olas altas” and they were walking there (chag,goblin,lizz and more and of course leo) so we didnt think about it two times and i just pulled over and ask him for some pictures, such a nice guy, he is a legend and from now on i will remember the day i met THE LEGEND!! , What a great tournament was delfino maza!!

These commentators are great, they aren’t the most professional and the commentary isn’t always up to par but there are a lot more chunks of gold than stainless steel commentary.

@@mindtm9794 Exactly. I went from Kirby (for a short period im the beginning, Ultimate is my first game) Cloud, Joker, Aegis and Byleth. Corrin has always been on my list to try. And I find them fun. Period.
