One of the best things I heard about the head mount was to take a paint pen and basically mark on both the GoPro and the mount itself where you found your best angle was. That way if you remove the GoPro, you can easily line it up next time you go to put it on the mount.
Yes man. It’s always great seeing all the Bay Area’s fishermen youtubers! Showing the logistics behind camera use is super helpful! out to rep Daly City soon haha. Stay Flossy!
@@ItGetsReelFishing Videos always looking great! One more question if that’s chill brother: Do you have to use any extra mics, or are the go pro internal ones pretty good? Thanks again mang
Great video on the pros and cons of gopro mounting. My chesty has a clip release. That said, I absolutely hate "crotch shots". Lately I have used head mounts, chesties and a separately mounted gopro.
Thanks bro... Yeah man it does happen and it is very hard to dial in but if you do you can get a lot more visually than what you can get from your chest.
By the look of your video, I vote for the head mount..but you need to have a sturgeon on one of those rods so you can catch reel action on your go pro...good videos bro..keep them coming...
I generally shoot POV videos and I like chest because it’s more hidden, and head it’s more in the open and you’ll get more looks or ask if you’re recording but head is more beneficial because you just turn your head and chest you must do extra steps to get that shot
Thanks for saving me the money and time. I agree the head strap is the way to go. I thought it would be a lot more floppy on the head but it looked pretty sturdy on your hat. Awesome review.
You can use your GoPro Quick App, Connect your GoPro, then hit “enable preview”, to get the proper adjustments when you use head Strap/ hat mount for your POV shots. I then mark the mount for my preference of adjustment. . Enjoy
Head mount for the win but a hat cam is a game changer mount the GoPro to the bill of the hat plus u keep the sun out your face.yeah but the chest cam doesn't allow the viewers to see every move you make
@@ItGetsReelFishing yeah it is kinda heavy I don't know how the hat clip looks but I customized mine to bolted down towards the back of the bill so it's pretty balanced with the wight but you do need a hat with a sturdy and flat bill
It does take some adjusting but once you get it locked in I think it's better than your arms and hands covering up most of the screen from the chest mount. It is a preference thing for sure.

Very good tip right there
@@ItGetsReelFishing yes sir! Cheaper than buying a 2nd GoPro and don’t have to fidget around with hoping the angle is correct everytime 👍🏻
@Ticklespressurewashing for sure... Thanks for the tip...
@@ItGetsReelFishing yes sir! Subscribed as well!
@Ticklespressurewashing much appreciated 👍👍👍

I only use GoPros at the moment

I use the standard mic and it's ok but it does get weird in high winds.
damn great video…was looking for a good chest vs head rig vid…not surprised you covered this 🔥🔥🔥

Thanks man... Those crotch shots are the worst. I alternate from head mount to a tripod when I can.
Bro congrats on your fishing adventure tanks for posting your videos I’ll like them all tanks have a great evening sr
Much appreciated 👍👍👍
Great episode Brudda. Thank you for sharing this. Nice job
I really appreciate that! Thank you!
Cool vid. I missed some good footage because my angle was too high on my head mount. I’ll have to fix that next time.

Yeah buddy I am trying to land a keeper sturgeon soon...
Thanks for the video epic determination of the different Mount and great action with the fish
Where is that location looks sweet
Thanks bro this is in SJ and like every water way in SJ not suitable for eating

They both have their benefits
They have fish back in the perc ponds.
I think I just got lucky

Thank you! It is very secure as you can adjust the straps to make it a snug fit. I just really like how much it captures opposed to the chest mount.
@@ItGetsReelFishing same...you now have a new follower so keep these great videos coming.
@OldGrumpRay thank you so much
I could never get used to either mount. But good info bro.

Head mount for the win but a hat cam is a game changer mount the GoPro to the bill of the hat plus u keep the sun out your face.yeah but the chest cam doesn't allow the viewers to see every move you make
I found the gopro being too heavy for the hat clip. It also slides and bounces due to the flimsiness of the bill.

@@ItGetsReelFishing helped me decide on that head harness! New subscriber now! Keep up the good work!
In my opinion it's the best way to go...
I prefer the chest mount for some reason
Most people do. It does have its pros but there is some cons as well.
Idk how many times I go back to my GoPro footage from the head strap and all I did was film the ground. It's the worst feeling ever.
It does take some adjusting but once you get it locked in I think it's better than your arms and hands covering up most of the screen from the chest mount. It is a preference thing for sure.
@@ItGetsReelFishing I agree
Use the GoPro app to see what the camera is shooting
That is a difficult task when reeling or casting or in places where ur phone can potentially fall in the water.
That why I do it before I start fishing
Yep...enable preview, set angle before casting, put away phone, when recording can't see preview on phone...
Yee... 🦈 Great video 👍👍
Thanks bro bro
Which is more stable and not look shaky? Chest or Head?
They are both stable but it depends on the activity. GoPro does have the hypersmooth feature to optimize stabilization
Really enjoyed your comparison! #Pomex
Thanks man I appreciate it
I like that shirt you have on. How much do they run for price wise XXXL
Thanks bro they are $27 plus tax and shipping itgetsreel.com
@@ItGetsReelFishing well I can meet up with you somewhere in San Jose to pick it up and skip the shipping fees.. 😆..lol..
@@ItGetsReelFishing . Also what colors do the shirts come in?
@@davidsoutdooradventuresand6799 Everything is done online at itgetsreel.com you can see the colorways there and all other options.
@@ItGetsReelFishing Maybe drop some off at Sharky's for the locals?
I prefer the head mount . You become a human tripod, chesty mount is always in the wrong place you see more fishing reels or rails
I agree
I almost all my GoPros with a head cam and the other on clamps or use a stick
Yeah I am always on the go and into action I hardly have my GoPro anywhere else but my head
My man sound like kali muscle lol
LOL
