Thank you for the opportunity to listen to another story and another vestibular illness. I'm learning a lot and am continually amazed by the way people are able to live with their chronic illness as comfortably, happily and peacefully as possible. So happy that Monica's hopes and interests are coming back too. ;)

Great interview, I’m glad I found you both. I’m in the same boat as Monica. I was diagnosed with Acquired Nystagmus, over 5 years and I got it from vitamin B1 and B12 deficiencies. Nystagmus does come with many eye symptoms. Recently I have been experiencing vertigo/different type of dizziness other than what I experience from having nystagmus. It’s HORRIBLE! I see my “dizzy doctor” (Neuro Otologist”) in September, I’ve been seeing her for five years at UCLA Medical Center. I’ve tried many meds and I’ve had horrible side effects, the only Med that somewhat help is Klonopin, but I recently weaned off to see I feel better, but no I don’t. I’ve don’t VRT twice.
This is a horrible way to live at times, my 30 year older son lives with me to help me. I no longer drive and rely on my two sons to get me around. Monica, how do you know for sure that you do not have a nystagmus? I hope to hear back from you both. Thank you.

Thanks for sharing your story and I love knowing where your sparrow nickname comes from. Birds are what got me back outside in the very beginning -being a passenger in car was so hard And has improved but I saw a baby owl family in a nest and following their journey kept me going out where I love in nature. I will likely rewatch this to take it all in. Thx both of you.

A Neuro Ophthalmologist is who specializes in Nystagmus and helped me a bit. Are you sure you and Monica both don’t have some Nystagmus?
