Well, I call myself a beginner as well so, the only thing i will say is that for a beginner is better to master every type of embr. stiches and not only the 'long and short' stich, bec they can do great effects on your projects. :-)

Hello I found the image on Pinterest here: it.pinterest.com/pin/468233692482986218/ if it's not in the link's result, try typing 'Trish Burr birds' and you'll find it for sure. But there is no scheme of the colours nor the techniques here :-)

Princes SHOULD embroider. Did you know that wounded bed-bound soldiers that were in the 1st and 2nd World Wars used to knit? Many of them carried on knitting after they were healed. Needle crafts are very personally rewarding. Are you using fine linen, bastile or heirloom muslin as Trish recommends? I have done years of cross stitch and just started working on the needle painting style by Trish Burr.

The historical info you gave me is so precious, i loved it! Embroidery is indeed rewarding, it can relax your mind, and you can express and pour your feelings in the fabric, in the threads, in your hands. Thank's for watching.

    1) this is not Trish Burr. 2) Trish Burr explicitly shows that you should not go UP into your stitches, always go down, otherwise, you leave holes in your work. As you do.
