Oml I remembered I had come across this video months ago and being so impressed and also getting that feeling of nostalgia and love of something you always knew and stored deep in your heart.. and I could not find it again for days, as I know things will calm down so there's time for me to pick up this project of learning embroidery and learning it well. This is so helpful. I've been struggling with this stitch because I haven't been achieving the look I wanted. Your instructions are absolutely fantastic. It really helped me to think of it as "staggered stitches" instead of rigid long and short stitches. Although the latter does give you an interesting effect too, if it's what you want. I wish I could watch this video before I completed a sewing kit which contains flowers. The instruction included about long and short stitch was nowhere near this detailed. So helpful. I got Trish's book with iron on patterns and can't wait to start practicing.

I hope this was covered in the basics if not, it is stitched in split stitch in 1 - 2 strands.
