It's actually possible to win both wars as Ælla! I did it in a campaign once. It took a lot of attempts and a LOT of murder, but I did it!

@@SnapStrategyThat would be fun! It was a really funny campaign overall- I got challenged to play as Ælla and then spun a wheel of every realm founding decision in the game. I ended up landing on Israel, so I ended up having to murder ALL of the Sigurdrs, take Sardinia, then Crete, then the holy land. I actually managed to get the Dynasty of Many Thrones decision and achievement in this run.
The key is to basically always be murdering Sigurdrs. As soon as you kill Halfdan and Ivar, kill their brothers and sons. Every year two of them need to be dying. Focus on Ivar first- if you can capture his capital, you can pretty easily win the war if you pick your battles well. Kill him fast enough and you can capture the new Jarl that inherits from him. After beating Ivar, you just need to un-siege your own stuff or siege some of Jorvik to keep the war score manageable. If you can have some more kids, marry them off as soon as possible (you can do this with your daughter if you murder Sigurd) to help you beat Jorvik. Whenever you see an opening, go for the capital and try for a good capture- a well-timed murder will leave a child on the throne, so you can capture them more easily. Once you win both wars you can actually form England pretty quickly and vassalize the other Christians.
Other funny discovery I made: if you murder enough Sigurdr dynasty members, Saga (Halfdan’s wife) will end up becoming Jarl of Jorvik!

Fun fact the North Sea Empire once existed when Danish Knud the Great took England in 1016 and became king of England. In 1018 he inherited the Danish kingdom from his brother who died. then later in his life in 1028 he also become king of Norway. He was king of these three kingdoms until his death in 1035.
If you were feeling up to a part two. I'd love to see you take and hold the capitals of France and Kyiv. Form those kingdoms as this Dynasty through maxing out "play tall" strategies. Maybe show off why creating things like Universities, Great Amphitheatres, etc. are so dope. Idk. But to see the High King of the North as the De Jure King and Duchy Holder of Paris, London, Kyiv, and Denmark (I always forget Denmark's). Would be dope 🤙🏿🍻
My personal idea would be to make one super strong Duke Vassal out of all of North Umbria and Jorvik. Then grant that Duke ownership of your County titles in Norway. Kingdom War for Normandy. Then make that Duke the King of Norway and a Vassal King. Give him War Declaration Rights and make him pay the Highest Taxes possible (Id even make them A Platinum Contract with Council Rights to ensure Max Taxes). Then you could conquer Kyiv. I'd especially like to see a super culture formed that's been hybridized like 4-5 times with roots in Paris, London, Denmark, and Kyiv. Sorry, sure you won't read all this. But I dig the content and just wanted to share my two cents.

Pro tip! There is a new achievment compatible rule that alliws you to have bonus domain limit up to 3 more, pretty nice i would say
Random bugbear of mine, if you click end entrenched Regency it moves the bar down even if they refuse. Can use that and swing the scales to get it down faster.

@@SnapStrategy good stuff good stuff, I only found it out due to doing a lot of custom games where I start age 2-6, can make pretty broken starter characters within the 400 limit if you get lucky on traits. Anywhoo, keep up the good content :)
One thing i would reccomend is the mod Murder is a crime. Its INSANE that yoh can know your regent murdered your father and you cant arrest them. Its such an oversight by paradox. Murder should always be a capitol crime. The mod is actally nice.
murder typically is a crime in most faiths, you just can't arrest an influential enough regent

I'm surprised you don't go for the duchy of Hwicce, as they have the Forest of Dean gold mine. Money for ages when you upgrade it. As a king, you can hold two duchies, but I never bothered with London. It sounds like I should reconsider if I get the opportunity.
Can you make a video where you play as a vassal of the pope and help him take over all of Europe? Then either crusade or create new religion and usurp the papacy? 🎉
i love this game, always fun focusing on your area trying to expand and develop. then deciding you want to see how the world has progressed and finding out the only two powers in the british isles is the kingdom of Alba and Wales.

I had the worst game, started as a viking went to sardinia I got the incapable trait with no heirs.
Honestly i dont mind the new sudden deaths, but just hate being incapable its so boring!
I had to save scum a legal file for the first time in FOREVER. I had to go back one generation to the previous ruler because I didn't have a county that had my hybrid culture. I had to go back and immediately make my capital Anglo-Breton. On that particular playthrough, my son died and my grandson was the heir. No problem, all good. He was the king of Galicia. I had Brittany, and conquered much of Britain. That guy was chaste and was raising another man's kids with his wife. Couldn't disinherit the kids, and I didn't want to gamble fishing for secrets in my court to declare them bastards. I then found out, on top of all that, that he was Galician culture....and no cultural county under my control so I could switch to it.
For Ivar's war is enough to defeat those two armies which land coming from York. With mercs you can attack them, but you need to do that while they still have the disembarking malus. And at 25% or so warscore they will white peace. For the southern war I've never found any strat.
Are these animations in game? Or just for effect on YT? Never seen anything at all like it in my limited experience of CK3
