No I need it for my game at school and I don't know what it means when they are doing these hand signals in my head I'm saying (are you death) lol
My PE teacher told us make a vlog about officiating hand signals in basketball so here I am watching this
Ah yes... I gotta memorize this then film me doing it for school, great.
I dont even know why my teacher wants us to memorize all of this lol.
(2) troo😭
maybe if you didn't pass on his/her subject and you quit school. you can be a referee.
@@alzoallixieg.5868 not all of us has the same interests.
same that's why im here 😭😂
YEA AND I HATE IT
Thank you! My first day of refereeing is today and this helps a lot!
my first day is tomorrow how'd your first game go? Are you still reffing?
I’ve just started to reffing about a month or 2 ago. But I’m still struggling on the signals
@@bobbyboy1439 nice hopefully It went well. I remember reffed some 1st and 2nd graders that winter and made some decent money, it was stressful at times but some of the coaches were really cool. Overall a pretty good experience, but I’m not reffing anymore since hs is busy af
@@BartBooooy something I would recommend is playing 2k and watching NBA, that’s how I learned all the rules and you’ll pick it up subconsciously while playing or watching something fun. Best of both worlds
watched this in the middle of my friends game; became the ref by the end.
very informative, thank you.
Kaway-kaway sa mga grade 9 diyannn👋👋👋!!! 😭🤣 may praktical kme bukas.

I start training today. Thank you very helpful ❤
Gotta ref some 6th graders tomorrow had to have some sort of training🤷♂️😂
So how did that go. 😂
Thank you, kind sir
2020 is the first year I've ever seen referees correctly call walking in the Big 12 conference which is refreshing. I hope they keep it up because the refs look like idiots when they allow walks
Good refresher course on officiating
If anyone is looking to officiate. Make sure that you know the mechanics for the area that you're trying to officiate in. In N.C. that is not the mechanic for illegal use of hands. That mechanic is for a hold. Also displaying 6 fingers isn't the mechanic for a full time out. Thanks for the video. I realize now that I need to bring my push mechanic up higher. I appreciate that.
Thank you very much for this very good idea💡🙂
Touchdown, 3 pts🤔.. 🤣🤣
this helps so much
Thanks for this video it helped me improve my refining a bit. But some of the signals I need to learn are different to what you showed in the video
Bob Scofield has been a NCAA Div. 1 Basketball Official for many years. He's been selected to work countless Conferences, tournaments, and national ncaa finals.
If you are being taught different signs, mechanics, and techniques other than what this demonstration shows...you might want to get with your assignor or mentor who is showing you differently because each step in this presentation is universal for amateur basketball officials.
This is an older post but the content has not changed.
Great Vid Thanks
fantastic
Nice!
Very useful,
Thank you Mr. Spacey
That is funny because it is like he is looking similar in look to Kevin Spacey, the renowned Hollywood actor.
@@zacharyjune7510 thx
super thanks , sir.
Really needed that
I Hope everyone does good on their tests tomorrow.
PE Subject brought me here.
Thanku sir.. It's help me lot
very informal, im wearing an outfit as an refree to watch a football on tv sunday, very useful
I just reffed 6 games in one day couple days ago for the first time and it harder than it looks on TV 😂. Cuz the players go so fast . U gotta move quick . Hardest part for me tbh was when the ball went off of two people it can b hard to tell when there going so fast 💨. Hardest part actually concentrating for so long tbh . Cardio manageable but u gotta stay focused 24/7 can’t miss a call
Man appreciate that input my cuz said the same thing man lol going out 12/9 to reff a few wish me luck!
Great.
This saved my ass today, thanks
You're welcome.
For presentation guyssssssss.
thnxs
Tonight I’m reffing a game for the first time with zero training! Wish me luck❤
Good luck with it. As you ref more often, you should gain more confidence and continue to improve.
@@sportdvds Thank you ❤️
Thanks ref.❤
This is the funniest video I have ever seen
Can i ask? Because we have to do this on our P.E class, can i use my left or right hand in start the clock signal? Thank you, sorry for my bad english
I got hated because i was a bad ref in the hood and i had to watch this
Tony Soprano really left his old life behind. Good for him. ❤

Great video. You do not need to use the stop the clock signal before a held ball.
You do now
I send this to a lot of my referees that I use as a reminder and a refresher before the season starts. The only question I have is that the mechanic for a full time out is different than what I have been taught in the past. Are you showing the mechanic for a full time out with one hand open for 5 and the other hand indicating a 1 for a total of 6 to indicate a 60 second timeout? Is this a college mechanic? NFHS teaches us to open both hands across our waist to signal a full time out.
Thanks for watching the video. It was originally produced in 2012 and some of the mechanics may have changed now.
Those last part foul gestures could turn into a good tiktok dance moves. 🤣🤣
Ty m coach made me referee out of nowhere
Ik from u16
How do you know the spot of the throw in?
Joey!!
The last signal always confused me b/c many use it to call timeout.
I think this is more muscle memory from when we were growing up. The 30 and 60 sec timeout has signals, so as to not confuse with a technical foul mechanic. The coach should be aware of it, I've seen coaches use the 30 and 60 timeout mechanic. If they call TO- without a signal-as a Ref I would approach them and ask 30 or 60? so I can let the scorer's table know, and my co-officials
angkol mn gud himo2 video, Kani na nuon amo exam
hypebeast
Do not fret fellow ladies and gentlemen who has had to memorize this, now I'm joining the pain train lmao
Check out Discbands for basketball officials. Huge help for keeping track of held ball possession. Especially for training programs, youth, amateur, rec leagues, or any level.
Plain!
Look up the Kansas City Grillers, we play in the ABA
This man really said touchdown ha
What is the signal for when shit counts as 2pts and not a 3 points do to foot being on the line ?
shout out 9 diamond
2:12 mans tryna flexx 🤭😎
Hi ma'am Jas!!
The Ref said that there were three types of visibly guarded counts and only showed two examples. is the third the out of bounds count? I am a new Official and my first game is tomorrow.
I know this was a year ago but;
3:52 3 second count (a player shall not remain in their team's foul lane for more than three consecutive seconds while that player's team is in control of a live ball in the frontcourt)
4:03 5 second violation (When guarded by the defenders, any player on the offensive team must either shoot or pass the ball to a teammate before five seconds elapse.)
4:12 10 second violation (the player must cross half court in 10 seconds after their team inbounds the ball.)
I wannabe a NBA REFEREE
is it right or left hand?
Who's also here because of PE class?
I need a partner!. Let's go!.
Palming just sounds weird. It's a carry dude. Otherwise , nice video thanks for sharing
Is this at Kino sports complex in Tucson?
Yes, that is where we shot the video.
and also i'm in school
I don't even know why my teacher expect me to answer the questions with a blured example
He said white coach at 30 sec timeout signal. What is white coach?
apir nalang sa help diraa
Watching this for exam hahahah
Hi franz
1:49 HITLER WAVE!!
Pangarap ko naman maging businessman pero bat kailangan kong sauluhin ito?
HAHAAHHAHA
this is so accurate wtf 😭✊‼️
Same...
I looked this up to be petty because of an argument about the 3 point attempt sign and the 3point made sign
Why are nba referees tapping their own head? What is the meaning for that? Ive seen bench players mimicking same gesture when soneone makes a posterized dunks. Is there any relevance?
gagawa ba naman kami ng sayaw gamit mga to HAHAHAHA
Make one with FIBA regulations
Sir what is 10 second violation?
The offensive team has 10 seconds to get the ball across half court.
@@sportdvds That should be 8 seconds??
Its 8 sec in the nba... 10 sec basically everywhere else...
@@dizceedot21 Every basketball league in Europe for example has 8 seconds, not 10.
@@Rikuzki well I said basically which doesnt mean all so 🤷♂️
my teacher sent me here HAHAHAHAHA
1. Jump Ball
2. No score
3. Bonus free throw
4. Travelling
5. Illegal dribble
kaway kaway sa mga may peta sa p.e
Shot clock violation they touch their shoulder with one of their hands.
I don’t understand why refs always have to point the direction for inbound pass? There is only one direction obviously…
1:49 how to Hitler wave
