Zach is awesome. He hosted my girlfriend, and I,and kids through TAPS at a Los Angeles Clippers game recently. We entered through the VIP entrance, saw the refs' locker room and replay review process, watched their pregame routine, and we sat courtside for the warm-ups. Thank you Zach!
Lol at the blind jokes, but i was a ref for just intramural bball for a season. It’s harder than it looks. I admit I got calls wrong, but it’s hard not being biased when idiots think you got a call wrong either.
i know its a hard job and i dont blame them for most bad calls because sometimes its hard to see, but other times they are just so blatantly bad that i cant understand how they continue to be referees.
You should try it yourself. It's an incredibly rewarding profession. If you try it, you'll learn and see how bad calls can and will happen to everyone.
Harden, Bron, Paul are hard to officiate. Harden and Paul always try to flop into getting foul calls. Bron is so strong that a lot of his drives to the lane leading with his shoulder should be called offensive fouls but they're not. He's also so strong that he doesn't get calls when he gets hacked.
You have to run up and down the NBA sized courts with professional athletes. Imagine you’re too gassed to run to the other side and missed a call? I don’t think NBA will hire you.
People gotta understand that most of the time it isn't the refs fault. You have to blame the people at the top, the people who train these refs, the people who have changed basketball to such a softer game. The refs have to listen to these people.
It's funny cause just yesterday I was watching a game and I thought to myself ,what would be the process to make it to the NBA as a referee!!! Thanks brother...God bless
Hi my son officiates Junior high and high school varsity just moving up to varsity in his third year , what’s your advice about moving to college and the pros? Thanks
To be a professional referee you have to be born blind and be good at blowing whistles and deaf with all those hand signals they do (ref sign language)
Have you ever watched an nba game? 99.9 of the calls arent even reviewable with replay. Replay is really only used for close calls at the end of the 4th (if the shot was off in time, out of bounds) and administrative stuff the rest of the game (clock malfunctions, who the free throw shooter is, who joined in on a fight end should be ejected, etc).
He looks more like a player's agent than a referee.
Hellooooo
Explain to me how Joey Crawford made it to the NBA
Finn Gallagher Connections
Finn Gallagher it aint what you know its who you know.
He can dunk
shaving points for vegas...😂😂😂
he’s blind

2018 season refs in a nutshell
Lol at the blind jokes, but i was a ref for just intramural bball for a season. It’s harder than it looks. I admit I got calls wrong, but it’s hard not being biased when idiots think you got a call wrong either.

This man is very passionate and strong willed about his approach to being an NBA referee.
i know its a hard job and i dont blame them for most bad calls because sometimes its hard to see, but other times they are just so blatantly bad that i cant understand how they continue to be referees.

Please create more of these short insights on other traits 🤓👍
44 years on the court still looking for that perfect game.

What it takes? A cellphone with the bookies your working for number on speed dial.
Perfect before playoffs
Didn’t recognize him in a suit. Lol
I would love to be a ref , get a bag to referee games
1. Don’t call travel
2. Keep the game close
3. Don’t foul out any star players
4. The more dunks you can allow, the better
What a Legend
After watching the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns game tonight, I would call this into question.
All you need is a overseas bank account that is untraceble
I didn’t realize they had to be so in shape. Makes sense with all the running

wanna know where I sign up cause after I seen KD save the ball while out of bounds for a solid 3-4 seconds y’all might as well let me officiate a game
so this was 5 years ago
I hate refs sometimes but honestly i gotta give them props for being the most hated position in basketball
Respect
This was weirdly interesting
They way he kept his hands the whole interview made me uncomfortable af lmao
Dude looks a mafia guy.
There should be an all referee basketball game like the celebrity games
NBA referee requirements:
Make bad calls against the Toronto Raptors
Canadia Aviator LOl ahlie
Or Make sure Warriors keeps winning if the Starters are Healthy
Loool dunnoe fam, crucial component for many years
Miami Heat*
more like OKC
Give Harden some free throws
*simple*
All you have to do is be blind, saved ya 3 min
Do the same interview again but with Tim Donaghy.
Basically you have to be able to subtract 1 step from the traditional rule for every euro and step back in the nba so it’s not a travel
You should have got the frozen yogurt with strawberry OMG so good and the hot dogs are delicious maybe I'll try the BBQ brisket
How did Joey Crawford get so far??😂😂😂
Gotta be a gambler 🤣
And then there's Joey Crawford
I know I could google it, but why not have the average NBA Ref's salary in the video?
I always wanted to be a referee
Yet they consistently make blind calls
What it takes to be an NBA ref?
Miss every single travel call.
What’s the pay/ bribe situation like
It's funny cause just yesterday I was watching a game and I thought to myself ,what would be the process to make it to the NBA as a referee!!! Thanks brother...God bless
it takes the ability to blindly ignore travels from the top players and let them flop for a foul
Didn't know Phil Dunphy did some referee work
Looks pretty mature for a 15 year old.
You don't think pro sports is rigged, this guy stood there the entire time holding that pyramid pose.
Step 1 be able to rig the game
What it takes: be legally blind ✅
Jimmy Crawford Aint Young 😂😂

The people that say refs are dumb dont know the rules most of the time
Why is he holding his fingers together like that
Pressure to make the right call with instant instant replay to double check calls; yet bad calls are made?. I dont understand.
have u been to an nba game, do u know how fast the players and plays are.. i think officials are amazing despite you forgetting they are still human.
Have you ever watched an nba game? 99.9 of the calls arent even reviewable with replay. Suns going 82 - 0 if i become a referee
You need to be fit but you definitely don’t need eyes.
What it takes to make calls no one likes
Not spotted: a spine
"what it takes to be an NBA referee" Requirments: No eyes, and Smoking weed all day
The key to being an NBA ref is to not know any rules of basketball.
what is take to be an NBA Referee:
1st: be blind
2nd: dont know all the rules
3rd: eject every player u can
If anyone wake look how he holding his hands. (Illuminati)
Holding his hands in triangle form
Never call travel. You’ll be hired.
they should have did the piece on boxing refs instead.
You need to be young. So why the veterans refs. Don't get replaced?
I'm stupid nvm I have the answer in my question because they are veterans
So they do all this training for years and still manage to somehow call wrong calls half the time ?
Not bias towards the stars yea really
Only takes one thing to be an NBA ref... Blind
220
What u need be a refeere:
1 be blind
Nothing more nothing less
Beeing blind and deaf helps...
He looks like Phil Dunphy...
You need 0/20 vision
You mean 20-200
If your a warriors referee all you have to do is cheat for them
Reminds me of klooney
Wow, his wife is beautiful!
you gotta be able to get Matt Barnes to stop fighting people mid game
Only 1 rule: be blind
NBA refs Job: See nothing or Protecting the Warriors
