Unfortunately I wasn't able to locate any OEM sets, as all they seem to carry even at Bailey's is the single bumper spike, but I did find a third-party set on Amazon that says it will work: www.amazon.com/JRL-Bucking-Spike-Felling-STIHL/dp/B07H273GZB/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=felling+dogs+for+stihl+chainsaw&qid=1609020826&sr=8-4 Then again, it also says the set will fit an MS261, so.... I guess you could hit your local dealer up and order the set for the 261 and see if it can fit? Does the 024 have a spot on the clutch cover where one would bolt up? If so there should be holes for bolts on the backside of the cover at least, even if they don't go all the way through.
@@HoosierHomesteaders Thank you sir, i ordered it 5 mins. after i saw your reply with the info. For $11.95, why bother with a dealer counter person. The cover has pre drilled holes. Please stand by for more questions!
I was able to get mine directly from my Stihl dealer. I pulled the part number from my other video here if you want to ask your dealer about it: Stihl Part Number for the "Felling Spikes" kit (both dogs and installation hardware): 0000 660 0800
That is my only complaint on my MS 261 is didn't come with double dogs. Otherwise its been perfect. It even got stolen once for a couple months before being recovered and in that time I had purchased the new model 261, and I honestly didn't like it as much. I will be installing doubles now. If nothing else, it looks badass
What did you not like about the newer model? I've got a friend who has the older model so I've used both, but didn't really notice much difference between the two other than mine is a little slimmer width-wise.
@@izuksammy I had an older model and a newer model. Olde models had the oiler set right from the factory, newer model doesn't throw enough oil, particularly w/ 18 & 20" bars. Adjust the oiler to throw max and see what you think about the new saw.
That’s a good point. I did make sure the oiler was full open before I ever started running it. It maintains a small amount of bar oil when the fuel tank runs empty with it full open, which is the basic ballpark I always tend towards.
What size drill bit did you end up going with to drill out the screw holes?
T27 torx I believe
Good job!👍👍👍
Thanks! 😃
Do they make these for an old stihl 024 super? My saw could sure use them.

Hoosier Homestead it was probably just sentimental bias but it seemed to vibrate more. There was nothing wrong with it, to say.
