Good video. I'm in the market for a ms 261 c-m. How does it handle that 20" bar in a big log? What county in Indiana you live in? I'm from Martin county.
If you're running a normal chisel chain it'll bog under too much load, just don't put a ton of pressure on it and it handles fine. Keeping them sharp definitely helps too. Honestly, I intend to put a 25" lightweight on it sometime this year and probably a half or full skip chisel, not sure it could handle a normal chain buried but it certainly has some power to it. I'm in Jay Co., up in the north east part of the state. I've heard rumors of mountain lions moving into your area, any truth to that?
@@HoosierHomesteaders there has been couple sightings of mountain lions down here. I know of one in Greene county forsure. I haven't seen any though. I have seen couple bobcats though. I've got a me 361 it'll run a 25" bar but I keep a 20" on it.. I can't decide if I wanna get a 18" or 20" when I get a 261. The 361 has a 3/8 chain.
I actually ended up breaking another one trying to use it a few days ago, but I've had those files for several years now and they were cheap to begin with. I've got some nice Stihl files and handles now, but hardened steel is hardened steel. It's going to be brittle.
thanks :) i learned alot :) just bought my first chainsaw well explained how to use sharpen the chain , and tighten the chain tention :)

I've dropped files on hard tile floors and it broke like glass.
