@@lm8499 Too narrow of a depiction. Comedy, Horror, Drama, all of it. Hitchcock had them all too but always through his horror flicks, Peele has conquered all the realms already. Well except the romantic comedy, that i know of, but give him time.

Seth is so underrated as a host. Not just great questions but giving equal attention to each guest. Most people like Brandon when next to three legends at this point can easily be overlooked but he got plenty of time here. Idk, it’s nice

Love Jordan and Daniel and Keke. I didn’t know the other young man, but I see why he was hired! I wish I could watch horror movies but I sit with my hands covering my eyes the whole time. 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🫤
Lol. I feel ya Rachel. Because I feel the same way. I have a difficult time watching any horror films - especially ones that involve the devil, or exorcisms, or anything like that. And I hate movies with jump scares. But I did watch Nope, and it’s not a horror film in the sense of blood and gory stuff - just more suspenseful, if that makes sense.
the other young man is Brandon Perea, and i believe he's pretty new in the industry. His previous major role is in The OA (the weirdest yet one of the best shows on Netflix), right of the bat I knew he was a great actor, but was not expecting (happy for him!) that he got this far into Peele's movie.
It's not scary that way.

I mainly watch A Closer Look, news commentary and corrections on RUclips but I love Seth's interviews and have been watching more lately. Jordan Peele's voice surprised me- I guess I had never heard him interview before. I love his films and his comedy and his beautiful hilarious wife. I am so excited for Nope! I love Keke and Seth and Daniel is cool and so is breakdancing!
Peele does such a great job playing different characters, I didn't realize I'd never heard his "normal" voice before, either.
It's wild that the same man who embodied Gunrack also played Meegan.

I want to understand how Jordan Peele got so great at directing, particular in things that were out of the wheelhouse that brought him to fame. I think there are just some brilliant people like this. People who can look at a process, and take what is good about it, and fill in what is lacking about it. If that's true, I can believe it. But if it isn't true, I want to hear about how he figured out how to be as good as he is. Maybe sometime he'll be on A&E Biographies...that's still a thing, right?
I don’t know about the biographies, but he was a writer and actor for 5 years on one of the most brilliant sketch shows of all time and has written and co-directed a movie before Get Out. If you’re interested in something, you put the work in to figure out how it works and how you’d do it. There’s no trick or gimmick, you just put the work in.
If you've ever watched Key ans Peele regularly, youd know that horror and "weirdness" have been in Jordan's wheelhouse since day 1. Go to RUclips and search "key and peele horror sketches"... there's some doozies. He grew up like most of us late GenXers... watching crazy horror movies on VHS.
Imo he got tremendous experience from his K&P sketch show which featured a wide variety of plots, scenarios and settings, far more of each as he would've encountered in a regular tv series/sitcom.

Idk if i remember jordan peele on mad tv, to be fair there is/was a lot of amazing people on that show. But i was a huge fan of the key and peele show and i love his voice character work! It's amazing how his career skyrocketed, although i shouldn't have been surprised.

He is old but not that old. It's more his personal choice to not "keep up with the jone's". Plus it makes him look more like a distinguished director. What I keep finding weird is how different his voice is from back in Jordan and Peele.
