I’ve played the drum kit for 30 years.. 10 of which, I was a well paid active professional, as it was my sole occupation. I was completely self taught.. At points along the way, i thought as you do about a myriad of techniques and groves.. that being said.. I can give you a tip if you’d like.
@@nckey42 music is one of the only things I will always take seriously. drums and rhythm and groove is something I’ve always felt, I’m a decent bassist and can sight read charts pretty good and played in jazz band in high school and college, I just only recently been obsessed with drums. More than any other instrument, the drums set the tone and mood of a song and for awhile now when I listen to songs I’m mostly listening to drums. I’m happy to say I’m a little obsessed and would love any tip or advice you’re offering. I will say that my skill level on other instruments and my lifelong eclectic taste in music is helping understanding a lot of things new drummers struggle with like feel and taste, but I am severely lacking the in the technique and muscle memory/repetition side of playing. I also have a problem of getting too into what’s going on and losing count or where I am in a song, which I know is mostly a lack of experience thing. Im not wanting to be a drummer in a band or anything since I play lead guitar and bass, but in the short time learning to drum I’ve noticed a tangible improvement in not just my guitar and bass playing, but also my orchestral oboe playing. I’ve always been more than competent on oboe, but I’ve noticed a real improvement in my rhythmic precision and sense of playing in the pocket when playing oboe in a professional symphonic setting, which is super cool because I always kinda felt like I stopped improving and growing musically after I graduated music school.

People will look back at this guy and say he's just an AI generated character. His skills are off the chart
Up to this point I think he's the first successful AGI ever created in the history of humanity.
He is the real GOAT of Drum…
I laughed way too hard at this. Dope playing but man people are goofy
The counts not the hard part(1 e and a 2, etc), the sticking is. I call it a pyramid. This guys coordination is amazing. Well done as always!
Bro absolutely spat in the rest of TikToks face
4 rhythm streams... and absolutely clean! This is awesome! When he stops counting his body is the rhythm... you can clearly see the moment. The thing for me is, jumping between the modes and still remaining in an absolutely clean rhythm count...
Eres como un pulpo, un cerebro en cada extremidad… 😮
Me encanta cuando deja de contar en inglés y pasa al castellano jajajaj, eres un grande!
Even though I was watching you. My brain didn't compute!😂😂😂😂
and its not just that he plays the drums brilliantly, he edits the numbers in perfect serial 😮
The pedal on the cowbell sounds so lovely
