I know this video is super old but I just wanna say that this video is fantastic! This.. isn’t actually the first time I’ve watched this video I’ll admit. The first time I did was the day after I got my first ever guitar. I knew nothing about how to hold it and I had no calluses on my fingers and I also had little to no dexterity in my fretting hand. About 3 weeks in, practicing every day (except for one, I had the flu oops) trying new things every day, having irl lessons too, it’s absolutely amazing how quickly I’ve gotten comfortable with my guitar. To any total newbies reading this and watching this video, IT WILL BE OK! Yes, your hands are going to cramp up, you’re going to feel as if you have absolutely no control over your fingers, playing is going to feel so foreign and uncomfortable, but it’s ok! You’ll get there! Practice every day and you’ll notice results really quickly
Andy, you are a wonderful teacher. So kind, so easy going, so welcoming and positive. Your whole vibe emanates an energy that music can be for *everyone*. Thank you for this gift. You're kicking ass.
I have been trying to play the guitar for years but never found a good teacher until I found you. You are the best. You explain everything from the basics. You made it easy to understand and follow. Your videos are great.
Having checked so many youtubers, i found your explanation of the chords as the most detailed and well explained with the best close-ups. thanks mate. cheers.
There are many videos for guitar learning, but you have set standard and way beyond others. Specifically the finger shifting during chord changes and the anchoring finger concept. You are the best tutor so far. Thanks a ton.
I've had a guitar for around 2 years now (originally got it for the whole family) it started collecting dust over the years and the other day I was thinking of starting again- so happy I have. I've completely forgotten everything I sort of knew, and seeing this video is SOOOO helpful. Right now I'm more focused in learning each chord before switching between chords, and your explanations are so simple to follow! Thank you so much!!!! ✨️💙
I got my guitar Christmas 2023 I’ve picked it up tried to hop into songs like chop suey by soad and shut me up by msi I quickly gave up and haven’t picked it up until now I wanted to learn chord but couldn’t find any good tutorials for me to understand until I found this video thank you for teaching me 7 chords
Thnks bro... I am completely new in guitar learning.. But the way you taught us through 10 days guitar course was awesome..... I could learn many basic things in short time... 👍👍
just wanted to say I found this video perfect for me bought a guitar a week ago never touched a string and learned this video in a week 2h a night gonna spend next week practicing transitions. thanks man look forward to watching more of your vids
Hey Andy, you're so amazing...you are the one and only teacher who is actually concerned for absolute beginners like me, explaining everything in such detail like a friend....thanks a ton :) May you be blessed. Love from India :))
For years I've played A major with my 1st, 2nd and 3rd finger in that order but the way you do it with the 2nd 1st and 3rd is ergonomically better. I'm having lots of fun progressing through the basic chords whilst keeping an anchor finger down. Cheers Andy, now I've gotta relearn the guitar! 😂
I got both lava acustic and ibanez electric was playing acustic for a bit then went electric but as i watch your videos im always learning and its a great help to me as im still learning and would love to learn more and get better 😊
You are the best we thin only this video I learned exactly what are the codes and where I should be put my fingers and move it smoothly. Thanks so much
First learn what is chord So first of all chord is like A, G minor and also it can be in major. U need to remember those chord. I'm also a beginner and I didn't understand anything unless when I see chord on a guitar tuner app and then I get to know we have to memorize those chord and just finger placement.
So basically there are different types of chord so he is telling us some of the 7 chord u can also search basic 11 chord for beginners there will be G chord, D chord , Em(m=minor) chord, C chord, A,E,Am,F,G5,D5,and E5 chord .It's ok if u don't understand just ask me , me myself I'll tell u even though I'm also a beginner 😂 and it's ok to get angry and sad sometimes during learning guitar but don't give up, lastly don't go too faster to learn, learn slowly and you will understand everything. Fighting🤝
Thanks so much is really simple to learn and better from my first private lesson which I quit to learn from you. Very easy to learn from you. Thanks again
Excellent session Andy, however I always begin by teaching Em first, only 2 fingers, play all 6 strings, sounds great. Also my very first chord, which my older brother showed me almost 50 years ago.
EADGEAC, Thank you, Andy. Wish to see diagrams depicting the postions of the fingers vis-a-vis to the demo. That would really help learners to memorise the chords..
This was very helpful, though slightly confused me because I was listening only, and as you did the e minor, 5th fret second string , I laughed and went to 2nd fret on my 5th string, It’s hard work saying frets and string whilst trying to do it aswell
It was so so helpful. You even explained which strings to strum in which chord. I really loved it. No one explained this like you. Thank you so much Andy 🙌❤️💕 Love from India😇
Hi Andy! Thanks so much for these videos. They are really helpful. Although i have a doubt regarding strumming. I dont understand how you decide to strum which strings while playing a chord. For eg- while playing C major chord, how did you know to strum from the 5th string. Is it something we have to memorize or there's some logic behind that?
0:32 E major
2:08 A Major
3:27 D Major
5:23 G Major
7:38 E Minor
8:24 A Minor
9:10 C Major
True hero
Thank you so much
