Great video Jeremy! I’ve got to ask why only a 91 for the 21 year old though if it’s one of the most drinkable whisky’s you’ve ever had (and you’ve had some nice ones!)? You’re leaving yourself a ton of leeway for better whisky’s I guess. Old Jim Murray never seems to mark anything over 97.5. Is 92ish your highest mark given so far?
Great video. I’ve only had 10, 12 CS, and 15. My faves is the 12CS and my wife’s is the 10. They both beat the 15 for both taste and value. Haven’t tried the pricier ones-hard to justify the price on those. But the 10 and 12CS are very good.
Great to see them all compared. I think I'd rate the 15 higher it's one of my favorites. It manages to be complex and subtle at the same time in a way i really like.
Definitely love these core range reviews! Thanks for doing these :) I've been transitioning from Bourbon to Scotch, and your videos have been a huge help. Was lucky enough to find a bottle of the Springbank 21 at a local big store, and looking forward to cracking it open. Cheers!
This was fantastic to watch Jeremy! Thanks for the time you put into it. Core line up videos are definitely something cool I'd like to see you do more of since alot of people don't do them. Maybe Glenfarclas, Glendronach, or Glenrothes would make good ones since their distribution is pretty widespread. Anyway, cheers!
Love these full range comparisons. Have been to the distillery and it was the best tour of any that I’ve done. Never gone higher than the 18yo and likely never will as the costs just don’t seem justified when the 18 is really no better or worse than the 10 or the 12, just different.
I feel like you could say that about a lot of the funky Springbanks. The 15 year is a weird one for me. Some vintages are great and others just ok. Ralfy reviewed the 2019 and scored it very high, would love to try it
Great video. Lucky you...👍 I have the 18, 21 & 25 YO in my collection. I wanna buy another Springbank, the normal 15 YO? Or the 15 YO Rum Wood? Any advice?
I wasn’t blown away by the 18 either. I’ve never tried the 10 year old yet. I had an official Springbank 10 sample bottle from joining the Springbank Society, but I gave it to W6.
I’m a shameless Springbank fanboy, but there’s a reason...the core range is all killer & the single casks & special releases have never let me down. Great rundown of a great distillery.
I have tried the 10, 15 and 18 only. I liked the 18 a lot, but I got it in a NY bar, typical 2oz shot, so I don’t know which year was release, but I’m sure it has to be 2019, as you know, bars are always in business. I didn’t pay for it, so I can’t speak for value. The 10 is very pleasant in both nose and palate as well, and the 15 was a bit thin to me. I would like try the other 3 as Springbank is becoming in one of my favorites. Great review, cheers!
Great video! Cannot find Springbank in my state. Was wondering if a road trip to a neighboring state might be worth it to look for some of these. You have convinced me that it is.
Great rundown Jeremy. I had recently finished a 2014 SB12 and it was so good. Have an unopened 2017 SB12, but other than the 10 I doubt I will go any higher age due to the price. I did have a sample of the 21 and it is really good, was licking the glass for 5 min I think :)
I've only had 1 so far, the 10 Year, but I was pleasantly surprised how good it is. Struggling to get the 12 CS atm, hopefully it becomes available again in the near future.
Love Springbank, the 25 is the most floral whisky I’ve ever nosed... the 12 cask strength is the best “bang for the buck”... the 10 is not great IMO... cheers
Great video, Jeremy! I really enjoy the Springbank range. Do you know if there is an online database that details the cask composition (% sherry, % rum, etc.) for each bottling year?
Wonderful comparison, I really like this core-range review formula! Thank you. Overall I think Springbank is not a whisky for beginners and one needs some training to really appreciate it.
Enjoyed the video. You're lucky to get those prices, cheapest Springbank 10 I could find here in where I live in California is $70. Still worth it. Personally, I think the Springbank 10 is the best bang for buck of any major distilleries "standard line"=), not counting independently bottled. Please let me know if there's one I'm missing. I like how you included value in your ratings which is different from other reviewers. The descriptions are detailed. Only criticism is your ratings don't make a ton of sense. Ex. The 21 year you said "probably one of the most drinkable whiskies I've EVER had" but you then you went on to confidently rate it only 91.5??! hahaha... Ok
Thanks for tuning in! To clarify my SB21 score. Drinkability isn't necessarily all I'm looking for in a whisky. Yes, it's awesome, but doesn't have the same complexity and depth other scotches do. Checkout my Brora 38 review. That whisky has elements that this doesn't. The Brora isn't as drinkable, but it's definitely the superior pour. Cheers!
They say Springbank is the distillery that does no wrong, though I'm not too sure if it's true. But it's one I love and hate at the same time, especially when it comes to very obvious batch variations. Yet this is exactly what differentiates a small distillery operated by hands from the industrial whisky complex operated by corporate firm.
Duty/Tax play the biggest roles, but I really have no idea how the LCBO determines prices. For example Glenfiddich 30 is a £499 bottle in the UK, it's about $600 in the US, $800ish in Alberta, and $5,000 at the LCBO! It makes no sense to me what so ever.
Great SB reviews Jeremy. I thoroughly enjoyed the 2019 SB 21/25 you sent me -- thanks again. I don't buy SBs because of their cult like following that generally makes them harder to acquire and their inflated prices.
It seems like a lot of whisky tubers kinda shit on the 15 yo a bit, when compared to the value of the 10 yo and power of the 12 yo. Almost like middle child syndrome. I personally much prefer the 15 to the 10 because of its greater complexity and depth. Not sure about the rest of the lineup. Maybe one day. Cheers Jeremy. #letsgopalate x 6
@@marksaliba4194 Haha! What's my record for #letsgopalate in one video? is this it? I liked an older bottling of the 15 better than this one, cheers Mark!
Great rundown. Love the latest 25 but I agree, overpriced. Preferred the 2018 edition of the 21yr old, and did not appreciate the recent 12yr old cask strength as much as usual, probably due to its diminished sherry cask % and increase bourbon proportions. Nice work!

The 21 is extremely drinkable, however it's not the most complex and the finish isn't the longest (2 things I value highly in a whisky). Cheers man :)
94/100 is my highest reviewed mark. 1984 Mortlach by G&M.
Hate those too easy to drink whiskies. Have gotten a few Longmorn from auction that have been the same way :)
@@SippersSocialClub epic dram
Money bags over here 😉👏🏼 Awesome rundown
SB was more affordable in 2019 lol
@@SippersSocialClub Yeah! CAD 100 isn't too bad for the 10yo these days 😅

Great review. I am digging the core range reviews. They really help me decide where I want to start when approaching a new distillery for me.
thanks Chris, cheers!
The 15 is 100% Sherry cask
Definitely love these core range reviews! Thanks for doing these :)
I've been transitioning from Bourbon to Scotch, and your videos have been a huge help. Was lucky enough to find a bottle of the Springbank 21 at a local big store, and looking forward to cracking it open. Cheers!
Awesome! Thanks Christian. Scotch offers another level to whisky drinking, cheers!
Thanks for doing videos that cover the family. Gives us information to compare and educate which we might want to try. Nice.
thanks, appreciate the kind words, cheers!
Those all sound amazing. I haven't had the opportunity to try Springbank yet, my life is incomplete.
No time like the present :)
Thanks for the thorough breakdown. I can only afford to try one of these and your comments will help me make an informed decision.
Great, cheers :)
It is absolutely criminal that Springbank has decided to only sell through bars!
Definitely not the case here. Where do you live?
This was fantastic to watch Jeremy! Thanks for the time you put into it. Core line up videos are definitely something cool I'd like to see you do more of since alot of people don't do them. Nice review Jeremy. Thanks again for that recommendation on the 12, as explained here.

Ive heard the SP distillery tour is one of the best, cheers Jason!
Have yet to try 21 and 25 but of the other 4, I agree with you: 12 > 10 > others
I enjoyed the 15. The predominant smell I got was movie theater chemical popcorn. It was confusing and enjoyable at the same time.
I feel like you could say that about a lot of the funky Springbanks. The 15 year is a weird one for me. Some vintages are great and others just ok. Ralfy reviewed the 2019 and scored it very high, would love to try it
Nice to see this lineup done side by side. Probably my favorite distillery. The 12 CS is the best Springbank I've had to date. Cheers Jeremy.
Some of their single casks are really nice as well, cheers man!
I've heard. Wish I could find some! 🥂
Have 2018 12 year, so complex! Great video & keep up the good work sir!
thanks, cheers!
I had the 10 for the first time today and was blown away.
I love it, especially the 2019 bottling :)
Great video. Lucky you...👍
I have the 18, 21 & 25 YO in my collection. I wanna buy another Springbank, the normal 15 YO? Or the 15 YO Rum Wood? Any advice?
I didn't think the 15 Rum was that exciting. I would go 12 Cask Strength over it
I finished a bottle of both the 10yo and the 18yo. With all the hype, I was expecting to be blown away. I wasn't thrilled by either one. 😥
Really? Do you remember which year?
I wasn’t blown away by the 18 either. I’ve never tried the 10 year old yet. I had an official Springbank 10 sample bottle from joining the Springbank Society, but I gave it to W6.
