I’m loving my new boots. Just ordered a pair of leather laces since it only came with the nylon ones. I bought them for the look. Very comfortable. Just got into the hand made boot game. Started with a pair of Java Waxed flesh pair of boots from Truman. Great boots as well. Check ‘em out. Saludos!
Truman is a great brand, for sure. Shame they no longer do the uplands model. I liked it a lot, but so far, their exclusive leathers are so nice. Hope the perrys doing great buddy!
I want you to know that you have a very nice way of talking to people. You are honest and humble, and that makes me listen to you very carefully. I really appreciate your cast, and I will be buying the Whites Perry select. Thank you very much.
Thanks for the review Manny! Love my Perry’s in 8” black work leather, I am wanting the selects in double shot burgundy. Hoping to catch a 20% off sale. Great work boots the Perry’s. Thanks.
I've always wanted a pair of 877's for more casual/local motorcycle rides. At the discount the selects have me thinking about the natural double shot. Thanks for sharing your experience with these.
Love the video as always. I have White's Foreman boot with the foam insert, and I agree that they can make the boots a little hot. Can actually be nice in the winter though. However, mine were too tight so I took the insert out and replaced it with a thin leather one to make them fit better. My Nick's are very good in the summer but with the 430 sole, they are freezing in the winter. Happy I have both!
Thorogoods wedge sole is polyurethane based for max wear, perry mocs should be rubber based vibram Christy sole, they used to come with the whites branded sole which was the same as the thorogoods where the shank is inside the wedge but they made a change some time ago and switched to the vibram Christy...love the review and comparisons though!! Great vid Manny!!! Thanks Brah!!!
@@MIIIB no worries, the Christy soles are supposed to be softer than the polyurethane max wear soles, perhaps a little more squish a little less life than the max wear
I’m trying to decide which of these three I want. I’m leaning towards the red wings because of the leather insole but a black pair of whites is appealing also. Thanks for the honest review of the boots.
I may suggest being more comfortable the Whites Perrys select honestly. Redwings are very lovely, too, if you add a think insert. Price is close, another topic is all eyelets vs speedhooks. Sometimes, I like all eyelets more than speed hooks. The laces stay in place, especially if you are climbing or working in positions where a boot can fall.
thank you I ended up getting the Perry select I got free laces for my nicks boots. the extra 60 is worth it my cobbler charges 70 to replace red wing sole so its worth it for extra life
whites for sure has some quality control issues. the back counter is a bit wonky if you look hard at it on Perry select. my last pair of whites I had it looked like it was a slightly different last between each other the mp Sherman. I sold them and person showed me they were different.@@MIIIB
How hard are the nicks to break in compare to the red wings? I work in construction and wanted red wings but the break in period is too much for me. Aiming towards the thorogoods but also want good quality
Work leathers are good start point and for work those leathers are the best, today Nicks call them ;maxx support' leathers which is a small selection of Black, Tan, 64 brown, walnut. Those are the best for WORK. I would say will break alot faster than Redwings leathers since redwings are more rigid and less flexible. Nicks are rigid at the 1st week but by the 2 and 3rd week already mold 70% and make a huge difference. The most you use them the more comfortable they come. Will come a point were you will not want to send it to resole due to the great fit they will get, I recommend for work always the lug sole no matter what...
Nicks is very similiar, predator orange not that thick and they have been offering their moc toes without a leather midsole now, often found on the 365 models.
How do the White's compare size wise to the Red Wings? I have the 877 but would like to get the Whites in black since Red Wing does not make an 8" moc toe in black. Should I order the same size in Whites as I use in Red Wing? Also, love you presentation and love your accent.
Redwing have too many last and I struggle with them. Examplr. The moctoe 877 I do 8EE, the moctoe work line 10877 I do 9 EEE, the pecos 9EEE. My brannock is 9EE and whites perrys work good with 8.5 EE , that size is all my PNW boots. A very little bit difference only. Some people is more picky and get different size per PNW last.
I don't own a JK300 so it's hard to decided without testing 1 pair, hard choice, people that I know swear about the JK300, I know the Perrys select and I can swear by this pair too. I think if you looking for moc toe take Whites, if circular vamp, take JK will be my suggestion brother!
I think DS from Whites is the perfect balance for a work boot if you don't need steel toe. Nicks is perfect if you require a heavy weight champion. Some battles don't require tanks. If your work or daily environment is light or medium intensity, then Whites is perfect for heavy and industrial environments Nicks.
I don't own regular Perrys, but it is the same pattern I assume will fit the same. Good eye brother ! Thank you for the Seiko. It is another of my passions, collecting watches. Seiko is one of my favorite
@@MIIIB I own a bunch of Chinese homages of seikos I love seiko designs. Just got a pair of dog red Perry’s so far they’re sick and fit better than redwing classic Mocs
@@danisnotstan1 from the video seems there are rotten screws under that so you can not just take it away. what you say is redwing 1907 and you can just throw the insole.
@@thatsAkeepernow there are clinch nails that come through the veg tan insole. They’re getting rusty from the foam insole holding moisture. Normal circumstances you don’t feel them. I have a pair of White’s Foremans which appear to be made the same way and I wear them all day without the foam insole and the nails are not felt.
You are too nice, if people didn't like your accent, they wouldn't watch the video. If I ever received boots with the nails sticking out of the heels, I would send them back 100%. Those nails are supposed to be hammered in and curl into the layers to hold them together. The nails are not supposed to be in the hard leather insole at all, somebody forgot to hammer those in.
I believe you, brother. I got the problem solved, but you are right. Thank you for your input, brother!! I encourage people always to express their perspectives , and it is highly appreciated
