    Great Boots content Brother!!!
    i have officially run out of patience with Nicks as of late; that sayed i still love their boots... not pleased with their decision to eliminate the BlakeStitch in their product from now on.
    Mine next pair will come from Frank's and i am leaning towards the Natural Dublin leather.
    Blessings and Abundance upon You and Your LovedOnes Manny!

      Hey Chris!!! 👋 really appreciate your comments brother. I'm happy with my Whites hybrid welt stitch and Nicks blake too.
      I understand you completely, I don't own Franks but the guys(Nicks/Franks) came from the same trunk (whites) so I know they should have exactly same quality, I assume they will do the welt goodyear stitching which will last decades man, so happy for you.
      Send me pictures brother!!! I'm a pro boot guy regardless of the brands. Like I say "do love not war".

    Got a pair of Nicks with the (4) row toe cap a few pairs back. Love the toe cap for structure compared to a celastic toe. Interesting Nicks doesn't stich the Honey Vibram soles but they stich 430 mini Vib and V700.

    • @MIIIB

      Quite interesting, as far as my small knowledge, I heard back then that they glue the soles, which I have a few boots glue and non-stitch due to the thickness of the lugs sole plus leather the machine make a lot of effort and is so hard that the better is just to glue the lugs sole.

    I wouldn’t recommend removing the buckle. Leather both shrinks and stretches. Leather might shrink 10% in the areas where your feet isn’t constantly stretching it. Because you have had the buckle done up in the past I would suggest this has taken the pressure off the leather of the upper and allowed the upper to shrink. I would worry if you remove the buckle then the leather might stretch again now the stress is applied to it. I could be wrong but if that lovely pair of boots were mine I wouldn’t risk it.

    Thanks for the update on your boots and I like the rebuild. My 64 smooth walnut overlanders will get a honey vibram and maybe the lowers changed to roughout w/ toe cap and was thinking I would beeswax the roughout to get some water proofing on the lowers, however I may go with the waxed flesh like you have. My uppers are smooth out though. Again love your boots.
    PS. Cancelled my Wickett & Craig DS Burgundy boot when I got the newsletter notification about the C8CXL limited availability. Had to go back to the end of the line in terms of wait time being reset, but c8cxl was what I was originally wanting anyway. Maybe I’ll do the Double Stuffed later. Hope you do an update on your natural ds soon, cheers.

    • @MIIIB
      @MIIIB  Год назад +1

      I think wax flesh is a perfect leather to 'grab and go' for some water resistant environments plus the easy maintenance. The beeswax treatment was fun to do but I feel like you need to add at least 2 to 3 coats in which will make the boots very rigid and not that pliably, so the wax flesh leathers came already with a good amount of infuse wax plus great finish (which beewax is not the best looking).
      #8 is exceptional good looking. Congrats

      @@MIIIB Thanks, Manny. BTW, I think I confused you having w&c ds w/ your w&c english bridle boots. I only remembered that you had multiple awesome pairs of nicks x w&c.
      Appreciate the advice for bwf. I'm leaning more towards it. By the these walnut overlanders get to a point where they need a rebuild, the uppers should be good and dark from age and should match well enough with that dark brown waxed flesh. 'Til then, I'll try to keep my feet dry :-)

    much softer ? I have a pair of wicked and Craig double stuff Veg. tan wearing for 3 months extremely uncomfortable hard as a rock... I have a pair of wax flesh 350 cruisers from whites half Mini soul. Almost zero break in very comfortable. I live in Spokane home to both whites and Nick's. Any feedback bro? Thanks!

      @MIIIB  Год назад +1

      Hey Chris!! 64 is the magic leather. It's soft and thick but pliable. Beautiful leather. I had heard a lot about double stuff, I knew it was hard leather due to many waxes. Any oil leather is more comfortable for sure, like 64 lines. Full of oils. Even work leathers once broken are very pliable but very thick too, that's why I recommend 64 first.
      I sweat a lot in hot weather. Nothing crazy but wet the whole bedsole, so I need to rotate .

    • @MIIIB
      @MIIIB  Год назад +3

      Very good and deep question. If you already own a builder pro 10 for work I assume, then I think you can get a 6" for casual and light work if you are in the laces section, but if you want just the counterpart of the BP then get a Renegade in any 64 leather smooth side for all your casual, home and light work. After a long day in the BP nothing like change to pull-ons but with Nicks quality. I do this ALL days. Weekends are dedicated to pull-ons or heritage line boots. I do lug sole exclusive for work days and all other soles for weekends. Let me know what you think brother. Towards wicket and craig those are amazing leathers but I will suggest first go with the 64 line since Veg tan is very tricky. If you like a patina monster then get W&C but if you want to stay versatile and a bit cleaner then take 64 line or CXL leathers.

      @@MIIIB I like the 8inch boots. the Overlander and officer looks nice. but I already have a pair of cowboy boots that are slip ons very comfterable around that size. I most likely need a 6 inch boot maybe a 8 inch boot maybe if it rains I can rotate a wet boot out. I admire your collection I hope to get as many as you one day. nicks are amazing. have you checked their moc toes out? ive always been a fan of red wings and nicks makes the best moc toe.

      @George Daughety ohhh nice! You already own some cowboys. I don't own moctoes but will buy some in 64 brown smooth. :)

      Beeswax brother. Melt in a pot, apply with a brush, let dry, will became like a wax hard layer, melt with a heat gun or hairdryer , leather will absorb the beewax and there you go is finished.
      You can apply many layers as you want. I suggest 1 first use the boot and check if need more since the wax make the leather really stiffas more layers go

    What do you think of the Nick's 365 stitched boots from your other video versus the Nick's overlanders? I'm stuck between those two

    • @MIIIB
      @MIIIB  Год назад

      Well, I found the 365 to be very comfortable and, I think, helps to prevent water/debris on the heel area vs. a 270°.
      The overlanders are magnificent boots made to kick work .
      I see this way the difference: if you need water protection, more flexibility and smooth sole 365 is amazing. I think they got a new model, name hardware, a waterwork with celastic toe
      If water is not problem and a more rigid sole imis need it, then overlanders is the winner.
