    Absolutely love your videos. Hearing a fellow tradesman talk about his boots brings a ton of insight. I got my builder pros about a year ago based on your reviews.
    Going to order my rotation pair in about a month or so so I can have a rotation pair when I send my boots out for resole.
    Anyway keep it up you're doing great.

    If you sweat a lot like me invest ina small shoe dryer that heats up .I did a semi scientific study with a skale and a leather insole .They are not dry after two days .A fresh insole is more open than a well worn one because the grease on your skin rubs into the leather . Plug in your boot dryer in a minute or two before removing your shoes so it is already warm and then put it into the warm shoe .It seems to remove more moisture from the lining that way . Condition the insole with a synthetic anti oxidant leather conditioner (look for car seat/furniture conditioners) .That will prevent excessive absorption of sweat and it stops heavy/migration of mold . Getting the mold out is very difficult.

    • @jensrb50
      @jensrb50 Год назад +2

      A less absorbent insole moves the sweat to your lining which is less comfortable but insole deterioration is pretty bad. Condition the insole and lining and use a alcohol disinfectant spray (aerosol can) those meant for surfaces and not the skin.These sprays contain anti fungal compounds to destroy mold spore s. I cannot stress enough how bad mold is on insoles .It is a curse if you don't notice it .Never use a work boot shoe tree on your casual boots .Heck don't even switch them from shoe to shoe .The wood becomes mold spores too and spreads it into the next sweaty pair

    • @MIIIB
      @MIIIB  Год назад +1

      I learned a hard lesson with a pair of 1907 redwings that got mold. took me just tons of time to take it off and then never came like the original shape. I throw the pair and sock. Since those days I rotate a lot my boots and try to let them rest 2 days in very hot days. Good thing my house is quite fresh and with constant ventilation so the boots get quite dry in 1 or 2 days, anyways I will get a boot dryer for sure. Summer is comming and full insoles wet are inevitable

    Hi Manny: Hope all is well in STX and TY for the video and review.
    How would you compare the 2021 Wedge Outsole to the 365 Outsole on the 365 Boot(Waterwork / Hardware Pro) you reviewed last year?
    I have a couple pairs of Travelers with the 2021 Outsole and am considering adding either a Builder Pro HNW V100 or a Hardware Pro HNW with the Sierra Outsole.
    Thank you for the help and take care…
    Steven in ATX

    • @MIIIB
      @MIIIB  Год назад +4

      They Steven!!!
      The 2021 sole with 360 /moc toe is flexible and the most lightweight in my collection . Hardwear pro reduce weight duento the lack of leather midsole, insole and outsole. You will find leather only on the bedsole. Is this good? Is fantastic! A shoe-boot basically, I think Sierra will give a better performance since the 2021 sole volume limit in a way that is flexing. The sierra, I assume, will flex better. However, the lack of leather and many rubber not sure will give a good arch support. My waterwork is great boots, but standing long hours (4hr+) will be uncomfortable. I like them when Im active walking, but as soon as I stand, the arch is not great. The builders' lug sole is a lot better , this is when it comes to the power of leather. The reason why I use lug soles most of the time. Due to the support of the arch, leather midsole, insole, and bedsole plus lugs. Only downside, the heavier boot I own. After time and breaking about 12 to 16 months, I will feel lighter and super comfortable. Take a lot of time for a full break, compared to 365 rubber, which is basically break free with the 64 line leathers

    Manny, which is better for casual wear, the 6” or 8” moc toe?

    • @MIIIB
      @MIIIB  Год назад +1

      I like the 6" but if the moc toe is a bit dressy or more elegant with smooth leather, I think 6" is better, my friend. In my case, my height is 5'10"." The 6"boot is a bit small, and the 10" is a bit tall, so the 8" sticks are good.
      However, I use 6" for those weekends walking with the family. Very comfortable with the right configuration, in my case, the falcon boot.

    Fellow south texasn here (McAllen) was currently torn between this same build and some JK forefronts . My only concern was the lead times for nicks how long did it take for you to get them after you ordered?

    • @MIIIB
      @MIIIB  Год назад +2

      Hey Buddy! Greetings from Laredo! Well, the Nicks time is as follows:
      Standard Lead Time Boots - 18-35 Weeks
      For a more accurate lead time, see what is entering production below.
      Quick Ship & Best Seller Boots - 8-12 Weeks
      Size Exchanges and Warranty Boots - 3-5 Weeks
      In Stock Boots - 3-5 Business Days
      I think quick ship is a nice time. Years ago the quick ship was the standard time. I buy from other high-end places and take 1 to 2 years, and I buy them anyways so I think is good the lead time with any PNW brand

    Do they feel the same under foot as the red wing wedge with the leather insole? Any difference?

    • @MIIIB
      @MIIIB  Год назад +1

      My observations: nicks with my specific configuration and size (8-1/2 EE) feels much lighter, a bit bulkier the wedge due to the volume, more comfortable wide the 360 have more space at the ball area.
      Redwings size 9 EEE and feels just right no space left at ball, a bit more pliable kneeling since not kiltie, less rigidity at shaft.
      My redwings are 3 yrs old, so those are ready broken. I need to break the Nicks more to get a full comparison
      As of now, those are my observations
