I ordered the deer applique from Laser Cut Quilts (well, their associated quilt shop), and found that this was incredibly easy! I was able to put it together in an evening. As I was only using it as a wall hanging, I chose not to sew around each piece (that would take forever), but I did free motion quilt leaves around the deer as though it was peeking through the forest. It was a fun and entertaining project! (sorry, tried to attach a picture, but You Tube doesn't seem to want me to do so)
I've never seen these before???... Was just at the Fabric Shop too!!!😥😥. Oh well, another trip to the shop....what a shame....lol lol lol oh nice explanation too!!
I would like to know how you quilted it, The designer echoed around each piece and then machine quilted the background. The piece do pop. I was hoping to long-arm a design on the finished elephant. What do you think? I would appreciate ideas and reasons behind them. Thanks!
Is it recommended to do a blanket stitch after ironing? I would think after a few washings some of the edges would start to unravel?Edit: I just checked out the website and I see that these are mainly used for wall hangings. They are gorgeous!
Wow this is neato. I'm going to try this. I'm new to quilting and live puzzles also so this is a great fix. Smile. I wonder is there a website for this company, I would like to see there selections.
I just finished one of these from a different company. I did a blanket stitch around each shape. It took awhile to finish but I like the look and felt it would secure the edges better. The finished product is stunning!
I stitched around every piece, no matter what the size. Even though it's a wall hanging and the pieces are fused, I thought if it ever got dusty and I had to wash it at least the pieces would stay attached. After the work that was put into making it, I wanted it to last a long time!
I love the elephant however I have a worry with washing them. Even if you used it as a wall hanging at some stage it will need a wash, so will quilting it be enough to stop fraying or would you have to applique around each piece?
that would be up to you. I would sew each piece down just so that I won't worry about it. And besides I like to sew them down :) But if you are only going to use it as a wall hanging it would be OK
Hi! Check with your local quilt shop, and if they're not carrying it, online retailers like missouriquiltco.com and connectingthreads.com carry the kit! Thanks :)
I think it's awful when people (not just you) show you things in their video's that then is not available to the public or the only way you can purchase the item is if you are a business. This must be the case for you because there have been several things (fabrics) that you have given links to and then nothing. I would really appreciate it if perhaps during your video maybe you could say that this is something that is only available if.......
I really understand how you feel. So let me explain why I can not give you a direct online link to buy. I have viewers form all over the world, for example, if I give one link to a company in Canada, then the USA or other countries can not use it. I do not always know all the different places that carry the product all over the world, and it would not be fair to if I only post one company and not the other thousands that carry it. This is why I give you the direct link to the company that usually makes it, that why you can then do a search for it where you like to shop online, or you can go to your local store and ask them to get it in for you. Often times the store is happy to do that. Often I give a link to a "where to buy in you area" from that company .I also do not know if it is available in all parts of the world. I really wish they was a way that I could everyone a direct link :) I have seen that often time a viewers will ask where they can get it form in their area and people will often write you back and tell you, just like in this video. I do hope this helps and thank you very much for taking the time in to let me know.

I loved this so much I ordered the elephant kit! Thank you
Can the pattern by itself be purchased instead of kit? I have sooo many scraps.
Love it. Not sure my cat would allow me to lay it out without rolling it! Oh I so want one
That is amazing..going to check it out. I do not quilt but I think I could do this.
Jennie Lynn Schlageter if you like doing puzzles this is fun
I do puzzles all the time and frame them. This is great, thank you!!!
Awesome! If used as a quilt, should you sew around the pieces? I love appliqué SEW I wouldn't mind.
yes, I would recommend it:)

Cindy McFarland it's definitely worth the extra work to stitch it down
I stitched around every piece, no matter what the size. Even though it's a wall hanging and the pieces are fused, I thought if it ever got dusty and I had to wash it at least the pieces would stay attached. After the work that was put into making it, I wanted it to last a long time!

Wanderfull!! Amei!!! 😍😍😍
Absolutely gorgeous! I was just wondering, do this piece need stitch down? Like appliqué .
nancy cogar I would recommend it if you plan on using it if you're going to use it for just a wall hanging it would be okay
SewVeryEasy Thank you so much! I love your tutorials!!!
So you don't have to sew around each piece?
Cynthia Bennett I would recommend it unless you're using it just for a wall hanging
Don't you have to sew down each piece? Or do you consider that part of the quilting?
that would be up to you. I would sew each piece down just so that I won't worry about it. And besides I like to sew them down :) But if you are only going to use it as a wall hanging it would be OK
Did you sew around each piece when done ?
you can, but I will be using it as a wall hanging
Does this pattern come as a kit
Yes, the top fabric and all the cut out fabric
Do you know what these usually retail for? I couldn't find these for sale online. :-(
JediMasterMatt it is a very new company so a lot of stores are not carrying them. Go to their website to the find a store area. If not email them.
Saw it for sale at missouri star quilt company for about $60.00

So you did not ?
Hi!!!How long did it take to appliqué the elephant ?
I think the whole thing, pressing, tracing, and fusing took a couple hours. 2-3 :)
Stop spreading your hands over the item you are showing. I don’t need to see your hands or manicure. It’s very distracting
