    In the mid 90s, when I first started quilting, I remember telling someone at quilt guild that someone should invent a sewing machine with a laser light guide. We all laughed, because we didn’t think it would ever really happen. It’s only taken 25 years, but I’m so glad to see someone made one!

    Okay I just cried my eyes out. I've been searching and searching for something to help me. I had Strokes in my eyes and on top of that recently had cataract surgery on both eyes. I haven't been able to do a damn thing with my sewing for a year now. I'm getting better but it's a very slow process especially because of The Strokes. Everything is distorted and I'm having a terrible time. I can't wait to get my hands on those laser lights. I don't even care how much they cost at this point. I'll use my whole social security check to get them. So grateful that you showed them on here. I've tried everything and this looks like a dream come true for me. Thank you so much for showing them.

Even when my vision was pretty good I struggled with the lighting on my longarm and never felt like I could see where I was going. I'm absolutely going to order one to test out. I have the green laser. It is VERY bright. As soon as I tried it, the reflection off of my needle plate was so strong I noped it right out of there. (I get light-induced migraines.) I’ll try it again with fabric under the needle before turning it on, now that I’ve seen your use of the red version. Worth a try!

    Great review! That little light that attaches to the sewing machine really catches my eye. A few years ago I got one of those led light tapes to attach to the throat of my machine. It ended up to be a bust for me because although the light was nice, I kept catching my quilts on the tape and pulling it off, plus it had a cord which is annoying. Something so small that I can attach anywhere looks great to me, plus the fact that I can remove it. I'm going to check these out!

    • @ISeeStarsQuilting
      @ISeeStarsQuilting  2 года назад +1

      Beth, I know the struggle of the led light strip! ugh. While good in theory... that thing was a pain to deal with on my old machine. You'll be way more happy with this little Velcro bright led light!

      @ISeeStarsQuilting  2 года назад +2

    You make these products look so good! What a personality. However, I purchased the laser light quite a while ago - placed it on my machine - started to sew - the light started dancing all over the place with the motion of the sewing machine. I put it in a drawer and haven't used it since. After watching your video I will give it another try but wondered if you had any suggestions about getting it to stand still.

    • @ISeeStarsQuilting
      @ISeeStarsQuilting  Год назад

      Hey thanks for your question. I don't have any problem getting mine to stay still while working, but it could be for any number of reasons, the sturdiness of a the table or the age o your sewing machine? I would make sure the end of the laser is screwed on tight too. Sometimes mine wiggle loose and I have to tighten them on again

    • @ISeeStarsQuilting
      @ISeeStarsQuilting  11 месяцев назад +1

      I do still use them today! I do have to recharge them quite a bit. But I wonder if that is mostly because of the time inbetween uses -- or Ill use most of the battery and then it'll need a quick charge before the next use. but they do help and I enjoy having the extra guidelines!

    Laser lights seem like a great idea but I have concerns. Shining laser lights into eyes can burn the tissues. I worry about the lasers being reflected off the base of the machine into the eyes. I've found my eyes are sensitive to reflected light from regular bulbs, esp on my black vintage machines.

    • @ISeeStarsQuilting
      @ISeeStarsQuilting  2 года назад

      I think the laser would work for wherever you put it. In this situation, I might angle the laser on the center line of the HST and make sure my needle is 1/4" from the center line. Then, follow the laser on the centerline and sew. It should work for both sides 🥰

They usually have floor models available if they are a dealer and you can sit down and see which ones you like better. You can also ask if they have any trade-ins and possibly good a great deal on an upgrade
