Kelly Kuciemba Guitarist from "Drawn and Quartered" who's also in their black metal side band "Plague Bearer" The solo on "In Satan's Name" -Plague Bearer and the solo on "Cyanide Sacrement" -Drawn and Quartered
Good list! I personally believe Hasjarl from Deathspell is one of the greatest, twisted geniuses to ever pick up a guitar. The lyricism from that band matches the nuts musicianship too - and that's not an easy feat.
Could NOT agree more....Yes, DMDS will always be considered a masterpiece, but I will always gravitate toward the albums Wolf's Lair Abyss through Order ad Chao. Just a guitar mad scientist.
probably Grand Declaration of War and Ordo Ad Chao are my favorites from Blasphemer, i like the guitars in the former but the latter is pretty much a perfect album for me
@@PadanFain-yp2yz "I captured the moment give/Denied the sickening love/Turned to the purity of anger/I saw my self in the abyss" highly relatable lines from Wolfs Lair Abyss
one of the things that always fascinated me, is when the guitarists who are not the lead writers, write something. like "The Wanderer" by Samoth for Emperor, or "Desolate Ways" by Richard Brunelle for Morbid Angel.
Great list man. I used to binge a drummers whole discography if i liked them enough haha, great way to find a bunch of great bands. i gotta start doing that with guitarists tho lol.
Meyna’ch of Mütiilation had a great way of writing melancholic riffs. It's obvious he was influenced by Burzum and Transilvanian Hunger. Scott Conner of Xasthur, who took influence from both Burzum and Mütiilation in particular (he also covered both), is another guitarist I would say is underrated
Have you heard of Walknut? They only released one album, Graveforests and Their Shadows but the guitar tone and riffs on that album are something else. So good.
Fuck yeah dude, love that you're diversifying your content and I'd definitely be more down for content like this where you just talk about shit. Great list but someone I would've included in the list personally would be X(Rip) from Human Serpent.
I think madly underrated is Strom from Vreid, Windir, Mistur, Cor Scorpii and Ulcus - totally unique style of leads very ethereal and folky which I’ve always loved!!
Yeeeeees, some more love/respect for Blasphemer-era Mayhem, Blackthorn, and of course the mighty duo that is Wroth/Zhaaral. \M/ Still jamming Dark Space -2.2!!!
Infamroth from Throne of Katarsis, genuinely evil riffs, their song Profetens Siste vandring on their 3rd album Ved Graven got me into ToK. Their last album The Three Transcendental Key also has really evil riffs. His vocals are insane, none of that forced highs, he's genuinely screaming with hatred inside. 1349 is also one of my favourite band, Hellfire is my favourite 1349 track, your hellfire tone video taught me how to play that iconic riff, recently purchased a hellfire LS second hand too
That dude in Moving thru Black. I forget his name!! The dude is fucking insane!! Truly sick riffs and songs!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 On reddit they say he learn a lot of his stuff from DevGohil!! But those guys on Reddit lie a lot!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ok.... it's great content.. but, can you do some French stuff ... Like LLN.... it's nothing special, but.... we need to be in deep water a little bit, rawness and that stuff..... recommendation for 2 bands. ''One tail One head'' and ''Mare'' rhythmic section and melodicity.....
Who's your favourite guitarist?
Kelly Kuciemba
Guitarist from "Drawn and Quartered" who's also in their black metal side band "Plague Bearer"
The solo on "In Satan's Name" -Plague Bearer
and the solo on "Cyanide Sacrement" -Drawn and Quartered
Dude you have real style. I'm surprised that your not signed?? You should be on a major record label!!
Peter Tägtgren. The Abyss albums are mint. Håvard Jørgensen. Nattens Madrigal is one of my favorite albums of all time. Love the channel, Dev! Cheers!
Håvard Jørgensen, because of Nattens Madrigal
Blasphemer ,teloch and Astennu
Another underated guitarrist: Dev Gohil!
loool thanks man appreciate it
Hell yeah!
The most underrated of all!
He asked for a Black Metal guitarist.
This list is missing Vergrimm from Kvist. His riffing was revolutionary and he's still completely overlooked to this day.
agreed
Good list!

Really glad to see Blasphemer on here. He was always in Euronymous' shadow while in Mayhem, but IMO was a much more interesting guitarist.
Blasphemer is insanely good

@@beepboop204 No argument from me! Ordo Ad Chao is absolutely brilliant all around.
Horns really put out some magic with behexen. The early stuff is still their best along with the poisonous path.
by the blessing is peak behexen for me
Totally agree about Snorre, an absolute legend! 🤘 I would also like to throw Shatraug into the mix, Let The Devil In is fkn awsome!
VJS (Sargeist, Nightbringer), Naas Alcameth and Hasjarl are fantastic as well.

Stuart (rip) in his Cradle of Filth era
100%

Someone pls make a playlist from this.
Hasjarl from Deathspell Omega. His Riff style is extremely Complex and Melodic At the same time.
Great video!
Satyr =} Nemesis Divina
incredible documentary, valuable information, I didn't hear about Infernus or I missed it?
He’s still pretty popular and talked about
Great list, Dev! Thanks!
Blasphemer is for sure one of my favourites. Ordo Ad Chao is so good. But also loving Vltimas and Ruim!
yesss m8 riffssss
in Black metal you don´t need to be a great guitarist. Just deliver the most grim and ominous sound possible as fast as you can and you´ll be fine.
One I liked a lot is Shaftiel from the first Absu albums
Infamroth from Throne of Katarsis, genuinely evil riffs, their song Profetens Siste vandring on their 3rd album Ved Graven got me into ToK. The main hellfire riff was also a Tjalve riff, a true hero
Blasphemer is so great. He wrote great riffs and songs. On top of that he is very versatile.
I think Azter from Denial of Good is a very good songwriter and has a great sense of melody. Very underrated band
Enzifer and Trondr Nefas !!!
Teloch from mayhem is a beast. So is jamie (astennu) from dimmu and covenant
oh damn i really shouldve put Astennu on this list the dude can PLAY
Duuuude, could you please do a cover of Funeral Mist's 'Living Temples?' I've wanted to see how it's played for so long.
Lemme see what I can do
Wow, thanks for the shoutout🖤 You should include yourself in the next time🤘
You're the man
Antimessiah is my favorite guitarist at the moment
When will there be a tab on The sea beneath the seas of the sea? I love this song very much, but the tab is only on the intro(
Ive done bits of the song, but can also do the full track
@@DevGohil 🖤
Should do an over rated BM guitarist episode.
lmao nah, i want to bring people up not put them down
Throwing Naas Alcameth on part 2?
if there is a part 2
That dude in Moving thru Black. I forget his name!! The dude is fucking insane!! Truly sick riffs and songs!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 On reddit they say he learn a lot of his stuff from DevGohil!! But those guys on Reddit lie a lot!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
