- In Star Wars the phantom menace we saw the amazing pod racing sequence of the boonta eve classic. This race included many interesting characters with interesting stories to look at so today I'm covering every canon pod racer in the boonta eve classic race we saw in the phantom menace.

RIP Ratts Tyrell - Pretty cold of the writer to have his family at the race, and have the announcers introduce them to the crowd, only tro have him fly into a stalagtite at full speed and vaporise. SQUEEEEEEEE
Every time a background character's family/backstory gets introduced in a movie or game, you know he's gonna die.😂
No worries, they picked that up in a comic and sold his daughter off to slavery afterwards, because wtf anyway.
Fond memories of these guys from the Episode 1 Racer game.
I bought that game not too long ago, in the may 4th sale. It’s fun and quite good for the time it was made. Also it’s cool to see all of the racers from the phantom menace represented in game.

Tyrrell's crash is actually upsetting, one of the only pure racing pilots in the race.
The whole Ben Quadinaros thing surprised me too.
Also it’s very sad that they established that Tyerell had a family, including his children. I’m not surprised they removed them before releasing the movie even though reference books did later make them canon.
in the game "SW episode 1 racers" Quadrinaros pod racer is the last unlockable podracer and is the fastest reaching over 1000 speed units, which is as fast as a tie fighter in the void, for comparison anakin podracer goes around 450 units in his default configuration and fully upgrated barely reaches 800, it is important to clarify that the turning capabilities and boosting power of this podracer(quadrinaros) are also very good for a podracer this fast, the disadvantage of this craft is its fragility, lots of improvised repairments must be done for a player who crash very often or overheat the engines with the boost.
Well yeah has 4 engines on his pod racer.
His crash is also kinda contrived. He crashed because he wasn't paying attention to where he was going. A completely rookie mistake for a career racer.

I remember playing the Pod racer PC game and still remember all the stats of the podracers! Quadinaros was kinda fast, even Clegg Holdfast (which was my favourite podracer in the game)
Mars Guo was my favorite racer. I loved when the announcer used to say “Just look at the size of those engines”

Mars Guo was my favorite to play in the games, because his pod racer is the biggest (even bigger than Sebulba’s :9)
Star Wars podracer really is a great game. It’s so good seeing all the racers from the phantom menace in the game and it’s a concept that translates really well from screen to game.
I figured Vader would've killed sebulba when he killed watto

They’re a part of the Star Wars universe which I think is really interesting and would love to see more on.
Wasn't super comprehensive for Teemto Pagalies, he also had a severe drinking problem, would regularly claim his species can drink 5x as much as any being 3x his height, he was even heavilly drunk during the Boonta Eve Classic
Also Clegg Holdfast crashed during the race when Sebulba lit his engines up with his pod's flamethrowers, despite his pod being unable to cross the finish line he was given honourary last place behind the actual surviving racers to complement the journalistic piece he was writing about the race itself
Also there was another racer referenced by one source as being present in the Boonta Eve Classic that is likely a mistake, in the Episode 1 game Fode and Bede can be heard referencing Bozzie Baranta, a racer who otherwise only appeared in the Episode 1 Racer game for the N64

Nice coverage of the pod racers. As someone who cares far too much about pod racing, it was good to hear some details beyond just stats in a video game with regards to the racers themselves haha. Ben Quadinaros too OP tho, at least in the game I come from that is

Such a shame most of the podracers don’t have a Lego set.. I’ve got the Mos Espa podrace set tho and it’s a great display 😄

There was a set for Aldar Beedo and Mawhonic's racers that i got (no longer have it, kinda wish i did)

I'm kit bashing a pod racer out of VW Bug with a roof chop & a Ju 88A-4 for the engines ...........i have not seen any landing gear pics as they all needed working on!!! Great upload & subbed.

Now I wish Lucasfilm had explored a show centered around pod racing. Sadly, it's a gender that is hardly ever explored in American TV shows.
I find it funny and disappointing that DisneyCanon just gave Sebulba another orange-and-black Plug-F Mammoth when in TPM Qui-Gon states that he sold Anakin's pod to, and I quote, "a very irate dug" which is obviously Sebulba. That shows how little Disney actually cares about continuity.
Having the Episode 1 Racer guide, I thought I had been pretty in the know about many of the racers, with little profile blurbs about many of them. I also seemed to recall that it was Sebulba who bought Anakin's pod racer seeing as he was no longer going to be needing it, and his own was destroyed. I guess that is no longer considered to be canon.
Was it Dud Bolt that was a hitman and Bodyguard? I thought it was Aldar Beedo.
If memory serves me right, he was hired to assassinate Sebulba on the track, but was impressed with the Dug's racing and tenacity and instead decided to become Sebulba's personal bodyguard and would race along side Sebulba and protect him as his wingman.
They both ended up being bodyguards for him in that race. Elan Mak was solely there to assassinate sebulba but he never managed to catch up
Mars guo couldve survived. In the shot where his pod flies above anakin its in a similar position to sebulbas in his crash. I think he makes it

The stuff about Neva Kee comes from multiple reference books, but it’s summed up quite nicely on his wookieepedia article.

His species is apparently very resistant to the effects of inertia, g-force etc. Is his cliams are to be believed his species also has an alcahol tolerance x5 as strong as any being 3x their height, though he made this claim while drunk and was even drunk DURING the Boonta Eve Classic Race
